They were found in three outstanding urban settlements: Herna/Peña Negra and La Fonteta in Southeastern Iberia, and Castellar de Meca, in the eastern limits of the Southern Plateau. A typological classification is also made, defining new subtypes. Impact traces, breakings and metallographic studies are also analyzed. Next their finding contexts are studied, revising possible contexts of instability and the appearance of this kind of weapon in contemporary Orientalizing contexts in Southeastern Iberia.

Todos ellos, con excepción del extracto de A. satureioides, afectaron negativamente el comportamiento alimentario de S. frugiperda a 100 μg/cm2.Ethanol extracts obtained from aerial parts of 64 native plants from Central Argentina were tested for their insect antifeedant activity against Epilachna paenulata (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) by choice test. Extracts derived from Achyrocline satureioides (Asteraceae), Baccharis coridifolia (Asteraceae), Baccharis flabellata (Asteraceae), Ruprechtia apetala (Polygonaceae) and Vernonanthura nudiflora (Asteraceae), showed more than 97% inhibition of the feeding of E. paenulata at 100 μg/cm2 . These active extracts were further evaluated for their effectiveness against Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). All these extracts except for that derived from A. satureioides, negatively influenced the feeding behavior of S. frugiperda at 100 μg/cm2 .Fil: del Corral, Soledad. Universidad Catolica de Córdoba. mef2ca and mef2cb Double mutant Zebrafish show altered craniofacial phenotype and motor behaviour

    Get PDF
The transcription factor MEF2C is crucial in neuronal, cardiac, bone and cartilage molecular processes, as well as for craniofacial development. MEF2C was associated with the human disease MRD20, whose patients show abnormal neuronal and craniofacial development. Zebrafish mef2ca;mef2cb double mutants were analysed for abnormalities in craniofacial and behaviour development through phenotypic analysis. Quantitative PCR was performed to investigate the expression levels of neuronal marker genes in mutant larvae. The motor behaviour was analysed by the swimming activity of 6 dpf larvae. We found that mef2ca;mef2cb double mutants display several abnormal phenotypes during early development, including those already described in zebrafish carrying mutations in each paralog, but also (i) a severe craniofacial phenotype (comprising both cartilaginous and dermal bone structures), (ii) developmental arrest due to the disruption of cardiac oedema and (iii) clear alterations in behaviour. We demonstrate that the defects observed in zebrafish mef2ca;mef2cb double mutants are similar to those previously described in MEF2C-null mice and MRD20 patients, confirming the usefulness of these mutant lines as a model for studies concerning MRD20 disease, the identification of new therapeutic targets and screening for possible rescue strategies.LA/P/0101/2020info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Vitiligo: A new side effect of everolimus therapy for metastatic renal cell carcinoma

    Get PDF
Patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) have always had a poor prognosis. Recently new targeted drugs were developed. A 73-year-old female patient affected from mRCC was assessed at our Department. She underwent before a multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy, but she developed progressive liver metastases so she was treated after with everolimus, an allosteric inhibitor of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), but started developing depigmented lesions over the neck. Vitiligo is a common cutaneous disorder and drug-induced vitiligo is reported. Our case can suggest a new type of drug-induced vitiligo, caused by a melanocyte-specific mechanism of toxicity

Simulated microgravity triggers epithelial mesenchymal transition in human keratinocytes

    Get PDF
The microgravitational environment is known to affect the cellular behaviour inducing modulation of gene expression and enzymatic activities, epigenetic modifications and alterations of the structural organization. Simulated microgravity, obtained in the laboratory setting through the use of a Random Positioning Machine (RPM), represents a well recognized and useful tool for the experimental studies of the cellular adaptations and molecular changes in response to weightlessness. Short exposure of cultured human keratinocytes to the RPM microgravity influences the cellular circadian clock oscillation. Therefore, here we searched for changes on the regenerative ability and response to tissue damage of human epidermal cells through the analysis of the effects of the simulated microgravity on the re-epithelialization phase of the repair and wound healing process. Combining morphological, biochemical and molecular approaches, we found that the simulated microgravity exposure of human keratinocytes promotes a migratory behavior and triggers the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through expression of the typical EMT transcription factors and markers, such as Snail1, Snail2 and ZEB2, metalloproteases, mesenchymal adhesion molecules and cytoskeletal components

_______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis dissertation deals with the presence of one or more notations in the field of theatrical performances, limiting the spectrum of study in the West. Since the parietal art, by way of showing the first records of each area, with greater focus on the twentieth century, in which further develop and discuss ideas, concepts and theories on the subject - the confrontation between the written and spoken word - especially in the performing arts. As a reference to the argument, the same process of analysis in relation to the rating is carried out in four other fields. In iconography, with its shapes, colors and materials that designated styles and codes of dominance in social class socio-political. In dance, especially classical, because of the need for structuring technique and the possibility of transmission and control of the elements related to movement. In music, we observe more clearly the process of setting up forms of transcription, appropriate to the demands of musical styles, compositional and various instruments and voices. And in the code entry, the letter and its effects as an element of influence in layers socio-political and artistic, especially in playwriting theater. The study analyzes the failure of one or more specific codes for theatrical performance (which there is predominantly verbal) and – based on the benefits and specifics of working with a record of notation areas described and literature review – the authors also seeks to address the theme, the necessity and functionality in research and transmission, and how the training and vocalities are affected by a specific record

Objective: To evaluate the potential of Smallanthus sonchifolius (S. sonchifolius) roots in ameliorating hepatic damage of rats fed with a high fructose diet. Methods: The effect of S. sonchifolius roots on energy intake, body weight, fat and liver mass was determined in male rats fed with a high-fructose diet. Plasma glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, lipoproteins and aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase were analyzed. Histological changes of the livers were evaluated by electronic microscopy and apoptosis was examined using the TUNEL method. The levels of malondialdehyde, reduced-glutathione and antioxidant enzymes (catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione S-transferase) activities were also determined. Results: S. sonchifolius roots significantly decreased energy intake, body weight, fat and liver mass (P < 0.05). S. sonchifolius roots ameliorated liver steatosis and mitochondrial morphology, avoiding cellular apoptosis and normalizing transaminase activity in the liver of rats fed with high fructose. Enzymatic assays revealed that S. sonchifolius roots had a modulatory effect on the oxidative stress induced by fructose-feeding by reducing lipid peroxidation (P < 0.05) and antioxidant enzyme activities (P < 0.05) in liver. Conclusions: S. sonchifolius roots can ameliorate non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by improving oxidative stress and liver injury.Fil: Aleman, Mariano Nicolás.
