Educational Innovation with a Multicultural Perspective

[EN] Knowledge Society challenges and issues require of complex technological systems that may evolve and interoperate each other. This complexity means to reorganize these systems as a set of components that may offer services, interact and evolve in very different ways including capabilities such as adaptation and intelligent behaviors. Also, the users should be considered as other important components of these so called technological ecosystems. The Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality – TEEM Conference is an event that studies the most significant advances in this research area, in which the Engineering approach is always a key factor. From the last edition of this event, TEEM 2014, that was held in the University of Salamanca in October 1-3, 2014, were selected seven papers that have extended and reviewed again. Three of these papers were finally accepted for publication in VAEP-RITA / IEEE RITA journal

In this work we use a renormalized impact factor to analyze the time evolution of Latin American scientific journals from 1991 to 2000. Our analysis shows oscillant behavior in journals’ relevance in the international context in the last years.

Since the 1990s, the European Union has launched comprehensive programs and initiatives that promote integrated urban development, the goal being improved urban development, in general, and a reduction of socio spatial inequalities in cities, in particular. The policies generated as a result of these programs and initiatives have shaped a European strategy that promotes integrated urban development, the so-called “urban agenda”. But, what in fact is the agenda that has been promoted by these initiatives during the last two decades? And, what are the experiences that would help define an urban agenda for Spanish cities? This article presents a basic analysis to respond to these questions, analyzing projects done in the framework of URBAN and URBANA programs in Spain (1994-2013)

Once again, the doctoral consortium track plays a central role in TEEM Conference. This track exists since the first edition on the conference in 2013 and still looks for Ph.D. candidates present the advances of their theses and do networking with other peers and more experienced researchers. This track was born linked to the Ph.D. Programme on Education in the Knowledge Society of the University of Salamanca (Spain), but we are happy to receive exciting proposals from another Ph.D. Programmes around the world, enriching the debates and the networking

Past Themes and Tracking Research Trends in Entrepreneurship: A Co-Word, Cites and Usage Count Analysis

This paper examines the evolution of research in Entrepreneurship published in Web of Science, a reference database. A bibliometric content analysis has been carried out as part of this investigation, allowing for a longitudinal study of the main research topics dealt with over time, ranging from classic topics such as its conception to more recent realities that include Social and Sustainable Entrepreneurship. This paper locates research trends by studying the evolution of citations and by incorporating use metrics. The results point to the existence of seven cognitive fronts that have marked the field’s growth and conceptual evolution. Furthermore, evidence is presented that shows how innovation has historically been the thread that links all the core themes. The topics and trends detected contribute specially to advancing the current discussion on entrepreneurship and coordinating future research efforts
