In this work we face a comprehensive study of the dynamic profile of the provincial tourist demand in Spain during the last 18 years. The originality of this work is based on the double approach "space-time". On the one hand, we analyze the concentration of the tourist flow and, on the other hand, we define a grouping in some classes of the spanish provinces attending to their trayectories, finding mainly trend dynamics and different seasonal dynamics. The tandem integrated by the Multiple Factor Analysis and the Classification Methods constitutes the methodological proposal

Time-dependent patterns in quasivertical cylindrical binary convection

This paper reports on numerical investigations of the effect of a slight inclination a on pattern formation in a shallow vertical cylindrical cell heated from below for binary mixtures with a positive value of the Soret coefficient. By using direct numerical simulation of the three-dimensional Boussinesq equations with Soret effect in cylindrical geometry, we show that a slight inclination of the cell in the range a˜0.036rad=2° strongly influences pattern selection. The large-scale shear flow (LSSF) induced by the small tilt of gravity overcomes the squarelike arrangements observed in noninclined cylinders in the Soret regime, stratifies the fluid along the direction of inclination, and produces an enhanced separation of the two components of the mixture. The competition between shear effects and horizontal and vertical buoyancy alters significantly the dynamics observed in noninclined convection. Additional unexpected time-dependent patterns coexist with the basic LSSF. We focus on an unsual periodic state recently discovered in an experiment, the so-called superhighway convection state (SHC), in which ascending and descending regions of fluid move in opposite directions. We provide numerical confirmation that Boussinesq Navier-Stokes equations with standard boundary conditions contain the essential ingredients that allow for the existence of such a state. Also, we obtain a persistent heteroclinic structure where regular oscillations between a SHC pattern and a state of nearly stationary longitudinal rolls take place. We characterize numerically these time-dependent patterns and investigate the dynamics around the threshold of convection.Postprint (author's final draft

Counter-trends in educational supervision? policies of inclusion as a tool for formal control in Uruguay

Study of governance forms and procedures at a stage that is turning out to be crucial in retaining and attracting back an ever more important group of young people constitutes our working scenario for exploring alternative systems to market models. Despite the weaknesses and contradictions that the management structures of Uruguayan secondary education have in regard to educational policy, the development of inclusion actions opens a way of doing things that is counterpoised to the precepts of globalization and helps us to rethink new forms of pedagogical direction and management. The idea is that in contrast to the management strategies adopted in the framework of a global economy, Uruguay is interpreting them and reformulating them in another direction. This research presents the analysis of the educational possibilities offered by the government agencies in countries that, such as Uruguay, the mechanisms of power are greatly influenced by the determination that the equality policies have achieve

Comorbidity Between Anorexia Nervosa and Depressive Disorder: A Narrative Review

    Get PDF
Objective Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a disorder with a significantly high prevalence. Affective disorders, including depressive disorder (DD), often coexist with this eating disorder (ED). In this review we will focus on its prevalence, associated vulnerability factors, clinical manifestations, possible etiological factors and its prognosis. Methods A bibliographic search was carried out in the PubMed database selecting those articles that approached the subject of comorbidity between AN and DD. The search was limited to articles published from January 1990 to December 2021. Results Of the 1891 abstracts reviewed, 33 studies met inclusion criteria. The prevalence of this comorbidity was extremely variable between studies, which exposed their heterogeneity. As to symptomatology this comorbidity presents itself with more severity, greater expression of psychological traits and greater cognitive impairment. Certain personality traits are postulated as vulnerability factors. Genetic factors such as neurochemicals seem to be involved in its pathogenesis. Conclusion The comorbidity between DD and ED have important influence in its symptomatic expression, severity and prognosis. Some of the analyzed studies provide consistent data, but there are others that are contradictory. It would be necessary to increase the number of studies and use a unified methodology

Stationary localized solutions in binary convection in slightly inclined rectangular cells

We analyze numerically the effect of a slight inclination in the lowest part of the snaking branches of convectons that are present in negative separation ratio binary mixtures in two-dimensional elongated rectangular cells. The exploration reveals the existence of novel stationary localized solutions with striking spatial features different from those of convectons. The numerical continuation of these solutions with respect to the inclination of the cell unveils the existence of even further families of localized structures that can organize in closed branches. A variety of localized solutions coexist for the same heating and inclination, depicting a highly complex scenario for solutions in the lowest part of the snaking diagrams for moderate to high heating. The different localized solutions obtained in the horizontal cell are discussed in detail.Postprint (author's final draft

Thermal binary mixture convection in inclined cylindrical containers

    Get PDF
Convection in a fluid layer is affected by its orientation with respect to the gravitational field. In the present work, we investigate numerically pattern selection in a cylindrical cell heated from below and inclined against gravity. We are interested in analyzing the effect of inclination on pattern formation near the onset of convection. We will focus on thermophobic mixtures, i.e. mixtures in which the heavier component of the fluid is driven into the direction of lower temperature, where square patterns, roll structures and cross-roll regimes are expected to arise. In agreement with experimental observations, we will show that pattern formation in disklike cylinders is strongly affected even by very small inclinations.Postprint (published version

The role of institutional, family and peer-based discourses and practices in the construction of students' socio-academic trajectories

The Version of Record of this manuscript has been published and is available in Ethnography and Education 2012 http://www.tandfonline.com/ http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/17457823.2012.661587In this article, we discuss findings from multi-level ethnography conducted in a secondary school located in Madrid (Spain). The study focuses on the variety of institutional, family and peer-based factors that contribute to the construction of students' socio-academic trajectories. In particular, we attempt to understand the role these social fields play in the construction of educational careers that are comparatively less successful in the case of immigrant students. Our findings suggest that these "objective outcomes" are immersed in a web of discourses, practices and representations held by educators, parents and students about the future, the role of schooling in adolescents socio-educational paths and the interconnections between each social field (school, parents and peers) that show significant contradictions and discontinuities. In our analysis, we uncover some of these tensions and examine the role they play in the configuration of adolescent's educational subjectivitiesThe research reported in this project was made possible through a research grant from theSpanish Ministry of Education and Science for the research project Adolescentes inmigrantesextranjeros en la ESO ‘Foreign immigrant adolescents in ESO’ (Reference: SEJ 2005-08371/SOCI
