N=2N=2 chiral WZNW model in superspace

    Get PDF
We study the Poisson bracket algebra of the N=2N=2 supersymmetric chiral WZNW model in superspace. It involves two classical r-matrices, one of which comes from the geometrical constraints implied by N=2N=2 supersymmetry. The phase space itself consists of superfields satisfying constraints involving this r-matrix. An attempt is made to relax these constraints. The symmetries of the model are investigated.Comment: 21 page

An integrable deformation of the AdS5 x S5 superstring action

    Get PDF
An integrable deformation of the type IIB AdS5xS5 superstring action is presented. The deformed field equations, Lax connection, and k-symmetry transformations are given. The original psu (2,2\4) symmetry is expected to become q deformed.Peer reviewedSubmitted Versio

Finding the Higgs Boson through Supersymmetry

The study of displaced vertices containing two b--jets may provide a double discovery at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC): we show how it may not only reveal evidence for supersymmetry, but also provide a way to uncover the Higgs boson necessary in the formulation of the electroweak theory in a large region of the parameter space. We quantify this explicitly using the simplest minimal supergravity model with bilinear breaking of R-parity, which accounts for the observed pattern of neutrino masses and mixings seen in neutrino oscillation experiments.Comment: 7 pages, 7 figures. Towards a quadratic Poisson algebra for the subtracted classical monodromy of symmetric space sine-Gordon theories

    Get PDF
Symmetric space sine-Gordon theories are two-dimensional massive integrable field theories, generalising the sine-Gordon and complex sine-Gordon theories. To study their integrability properties on the real line, it is necessary to introduce a subtracted monodromy matrix. Moreover, since the theories are not ultralocal, a regularisation is required to compute the Poisson algebra for the subtracted monodromy. In this article, we regularise and compute this Poisson algebra for certain configurations, and show that it can both satisfy the Jacobi identity and imply the existence of an infinite number of conserved quantities in involution

Probing Neutrino Oscillations in Supersymmetric Models at the Large Hadron Collider

The lightest supersymmetric particle may decay with branching ratios that correlate with neutrino oscillation parameters. In this case the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has the potential to probe the atmospheric neutrino mixing angle with sensitivity competitive to its low-energy determination by underground experiments. Under realistic detection assumptions, we identify the necessary conditions for the experiments at CERN's LHC to probe the simplest scenario for neutrino masses induced by minimal supergravity with bilinear R parity violation.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures. A lattice Poisson algebra for the Pohlmeyer reduction of the AdS_5 x S^5 superstring

    Get PDF
The Poisson algebra of the Lax matrix associated with the Pohlmeyer reduction of the AdS_5 x S^5 superstring is computed from first principles. The resulting non-ultralocality is mild, which enables to write down a corresponding lattice Poisson algebra.Comment: 5 page

Probing neutrino mass with multilepton production at the Tevatron in the simplest R-parity violation model

    Get PDF
We analyze the production of multileptons in the simplest supergravity model with bilinear violation of R parity at the Fermilab Tevatron. Despite the small R-parity violating couplings needed to generate the neutrino masses indicated by current atmospheric neutrino data, the lightest supersymmetric particle is unstable and can decay inside the detector. This leads to a phenomenology quite distinct from that of the R-parity conserving scenario. We quantify by how much the supersymmetric multilepton signals differ from the R-parity conserving expectations, displaying our results in the m0m1/2m_0 \otimes m_{1/2} plane. We show that the presence of bilinear R-parity violating interactions enhances the supersymmetric multilepton signals over most of the parameter space, specially at moderate and large m0m_0.Comment: 26 pages, 23 figures.
