Algunas consideraciones sobre las servidumbres en la Lex Romana Burgundiorum

[Resumen] A principios del sigloVI, el rey burgundio Gundobado trataba de crear un estado territorial borgoñon en las tierras que los burgundios ocupaban como foederati, en la parte occidental del Imperio romano. Se propuso lograr una pacífica convivencia, tra- tando de compaginar los derechos e intereses de la población romana y los de la pobla- ción burgundia. Con esta finalidad promulgó la Lex Burgundionum y un poco más tarde, la Lex Romana Burgundionum. Teniendo en cuenta éste contexto, con el presente trabajo se trata de poner de manifiesto el componente romano que se aprecia en la legislación borgoñona, que en éste caso lo centraremos en el estudio de las servidumbres, reguladas en el Tít. XVII de la Lex Romana Burgundionum: De clausis itineribus vel aliis servitutibus.[Abstract] At the beginning of the VI century, the burgundian king Gundobado tried to cre- ate a burgundian territorial state in the occidental area of the roman empire, which the burgundians occupied as foederati. He was aiming to achieve a peaceful coexistence, trying to set common rights and interests between the roman and the burgundian popu- lation. With this purpose intention the Lex Burgundionum and later the Lex Romana Burgundionum were promulgated. Taking this context into account, the present work aims at underlining the roman component that can be appreciated at the burgundian legislation, which we will focus in this case on the study of the servitudes, regulated by Tít.XVII from Lex Romana Burgundionum: De clausis itineribus vel aliis servitutibus

Revisión de las ideas morales y políticas de Concepción Arenal

Tesis de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Facultad de Derecho, Departamento de Filosofía del Derecho, Moral y Política I, leída el 13-09-2002El objetivo de esta tesis ha sido el de reunir y revisar las distintas facetas que el pensamiento de Concepción Arenal engloba. Los cinco capítulos en los que se divide esta investigación (Estudio biobibliográfico de su figura; Humanismo versus C. Arenal; C. Arenal: baluarte de la dignidad de la mujere y del ser humano; C. Arenal: educación humanitaria; Justicia, Moral y Derecho: tres pilares básicos en el pensamiento arenaliano) se propusieron aunar la síntesis de sus ideas encuadradas en su época, a la vez que incluir el germen de algunas de las mismas con las que sería una adelantada a su tiempo en multitud de ocasiones. Esto, junto a posteriores tratamientos y estudios doctrinales y mis aportaciones constituirá el tronco de su contenido y finalidad. La dignidad, junto a la libertad y a la solidaridad por ella preconizada, constituirá una continuidad en los valores resaltados y recogidos en nuestras declaraciones de derechos actuales. "Su feminismo" representará una de las corrientes más actuales del pensamiento feminista abierto y universal, en el que se incluiría a cualquier persona que estuviera dispuesta a luchar contra la opresión. La capacidad de elección mediante la educación y la cultura se presentaban, así, como claves para la liberación de la mujer, del ser humano integral. Su desafío quiso basarse en la necesidad de interiorizar, de hacer llegar al espírituo de los pueblos un deseo de saber a base de Moral y de Justicia. Este anhelo conformaba su esperanza en la cultura y en la solidaridad, las mismas que hoy siguen cobrando actualidad frente a algunas carencias todavía no superadas de nuestras sociedades en el nuevo siglo. Su pensamiento jurídico planteaba una de las cuestiones más discutidas en nuestra doctrina jurídica-filosófica: la relación-conexión derecho-moral. Exaltadora de la justicia, de la que partía la idea del derecho, y del amor como guía del progreso la harán adentrarse en la reforma penitenciaria como "problema de todos". Recogiendo a la vez las más modernas ideas dirigidas a la resocialización. Role of the LEXE motif of protein-primed DNA polymerases in the interaction with the incoming nucleotide

The LEXE motif, conserved in eukaryotic type DNA polymerases, is placed close to the polymerization active site. Previous studies suggested that the second Glu was involved in binding a third noncatalytic ion in bacteriophage RB69 DNA polymerase. In the protein-primed DNA polymerase subgroup, the LEXE motif lacks the first Glu in most cases, but it has a conserved Phe/Trp and a Gly preceding that position. To ascertain the role of those residues, we have analyzed the behavior of mutants at the corresponding φ29 DNA polymerase residues Gly-481, Trp-483, Ala-484, and Glu-486. We show that mutations at Gly-481 and Trp-483 hamper insertion of the incoming dNTP in the presence of Mg2+ ions, a reaction highly improved when Mn2+ was used as metal activator. These results, together with previous crystallographic resolution of φ29 DNA polymerase ternary complex, allow us to infer that Gly-481 and Trp-483 could form a pocket that orients Val-250 to interact with the dNTP. Mutants at Glu-486 are also defective in polymerization and, as mutants at Gly-481 and Trp-483, in the pyrophosphorolytic activity with Mg2+. Recovery of both reactions with Mn2+ supports a role for Glu-486 in the interaction with the pyrophosphate moiety of the dNT

Ultrasound-assisted multicomponent synthesis of 4H-pyrans in water and DNA binding studies

A simple approach to synthesize new highly substituted 4H-pyran derivatives is described. Efficient Et3N acts as a readily accessible catalyst of this process performed in pure water and with only a 20 mol% of catalyst loading. The extremely simple operational methodology, short reaction times, clean procedure and excellent product yields render this new approach extremely appealing for the synthesis of 4H-pyrans, as potentially biological scaffolds. Additionally, DNA interaction analysis reveals that 4H-pyran derivatives behave preferably as minor groove binders over major groove or intercalators. Therefore, this is one of the scarce examples where pyrans have resulted to be interesting DNA binders with high binding constants (Kb ranges from 1.53 × 104 M-1 to 2.05 × 106 M-1)

Tiwanaku: entre el cielo y la tierra

Este trabajo es fruto del proyecto UNESCO de “Conservación y preservación de Tiwanaku y la pirámide de Akapana”, financiado por el Fondo Fiduciario Japonés, y con la participación de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Tiene como objetivo principal acercar el conocimiento científico sobre Tiwanaku a un público amplio. El libro está estructurado en cuatro etapas muy distintas. En la primera, Arriba, se hace un breve recorrido por las cuestiones básicas de la Teledetección, desde la primera toma fotográfica desde el aire, hasta la aplicación de las últimas técnicas de imágenes satelitales, y su aplicación al ámbito del Patrimonio. La segunda parte, Abajo, hará un breve recorrido por la historia del conocimiento de Tiwanaku, desde los primeros cronistas que hablaron sobre el papel de un espacio para ellos tan increíble como desconocido, hasta la aproximación general que ha hecho la Arqueología a lo largo de los últimos cien años, así como la manera de entender el sitio mediante la Geografía Física. El tercer apartado del libro, Adentro, muestra la aplicación de la técnica de teledetección al espacio intramuros de la ciudad, atendiendo a cuestiones tan interesantes como sus límites físicos, o los diferentes elementos que la componen, introduciendo algunos espectaculares descubrimientos que jalonan su paisaje urbano. El último capítulo, Afuera, hace referencia a dos elementos que, desde el entorno externo de la ciudad han condicionado de forma manifiesta la vida de sus habitantes a lo largo de toda su historia, que son el agua y la piedra. De ambos elementos mostraremos algunas evidencias absolutamente novedosas

Evaluación de la plataforma Moodle, en la formación semipresencial, de entrenadores personales y deportivos

Existen numerosas experiencias previas en la formación virtual a distancia en diferentes temáticas. El presente estudio es una valoración, por parte del alumnado, del desarrollo, validez y utilización de la plataforma moodle, como herramienta de formación virtual en un curso de modalidad semi-presencial de Experto Universitario en Entrenador Personal y Deportivo. El curso se desarrollo de enero a junio del 2007, existiendo 6 fines de semana donde se realizaron clases presenciales, siendo la plataforma el medio de comunicación, transmisión de información y feedback entre alumnos y profesorado. La evaluación del curso se ha realizado mediante la utilización de un cuestionario, elaborado para la ocasión, que los alumnos han cumplimentado al finalizar el mismo. Los resultados obtenidos indican que los alumnos disponen de facilidad para acceder a medios informáticos y la utilización de los mismos. Presentan un grado de satisfacción alto respecto al contenido del curso, al desarrollo del mismo y al resultado final de aprendizaje, que valoran de forma subjetiva. Como conclusión el grado de satisfacción general del alumnado ha sido positivo respecto a esta primera experiencia de enseñanza-aprendizaje virtual

The Bilingual Lexicon, Back and Forth: Electrophysiological Signatures of Translation Asymmetry

Available online 2 December 2021Mainstream theories of first and second language (L1, L2) processing in bilinguals are crucially informed by word translation research. A core finding is the translation asymmetry effect, typified by slower performance in forward translation (FT, from L1 into L2) than in backward translation (BT, from L2 into L1). Yet, few studies have explored its neural bases and none has employed (de)synchronization measures, precluding the integration of bilingual memory models with neural (de)coupling accounts of word processing. Here, 27 proficient Spanish-English bilinguals engaged in FT and BT of single words as we obtained high-density EEG recordings to perform cluster-based oscillatory and non-linear functional connectivity analyses. Relative to BT, FT yielded slower responses, higher frontal theta (4–7 Hz) power in an early window (0–300 ms), reduced centro-posterior lower-beta (14–20 Hz) and centro-frontal upper-beta (21–30 Hz) power in a later window (300–600 ms), and lower fronto-parietal connectivity below 10 Hz in the early window. Also, the greater the behavioral difference between FT and BT, the greater the power of the early theta cluster for FT over BT. These results reveal key (de)coupling dynamics underlying translation asymmetry, offering frequency-specific constraints for leading models of bilingual lexical processing.This work was supported by CONICET and FONCYT-PICT [grant numbers 2017-1818, 2017-1820]. On multi-scale asymptotic structure of eigenfunctions in a boundary value problem with concentrated masses near the boundary

We construct two-term asymptotics ?? k = ?m?2(M + ??k + O(?3/2)) of eigenvalues of a mixed boundary-value problem in ? R2 with many heavy (m > 2) concentrated masses near a straight part of the boundary ? . ? is a small positive parameter related to size and periodicity of the masses; k ? N. The main term M > 0 is common for all eigenvalues but the correction terms ?k , which are eigenvalues of a limit problem with the spectral Steklov boundary conditions on , exhibit the effect of asymptotic splitting in the eigenvalue sequence enabling the detection of asymptotic forms of eigenfunctions. The justification scheme implies isolating and purifying singularities of eigenfunctions and leads to a new spectral problem in weighed spaces with a "strongly" singular weight.This research work has been partially supported by Spanish MINECO, MTM2013-44883-P.
