    Kadın, Doğum ve Çocuk Hastanelerinde Girdi Tıkanıklığı ve Aylak Girdilere Bağlı Kayıpların Analizi

    In this study technical efficiency structure of the women, maternity and child hospitals in Turkey are analyzed. According to the results obtained the highest efficiency belongs to Department of Social Security Hospitals which are fully efficient. The efficiency level of private hospital is 0.841 and the efficiency level of hospitals that belongs to Ministry of Health is 0.808. Besides, the most important difference of this study from its similars is calculation of welfare losses according to input congestion and idle input which have not been considered enough until now and can be used as an important political device. Welfare loss which occurs according to the congestions and slacks is 4,647,044 YTL Bu çalısmada, TĂŒrkiye'de faaliyet gösteren kadın, dogum ve çocuk hastanelerinin teknik etkinlik yapısı analiz edilmistir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre en yĂŒksek etkinlige Sosyal Sigortalar Kurumuna baglı hastaneler sahip olup tam etkindir. Özel hastanelerin etkinlik dĂŒzeyi 0,841; Saglık Bakanlıgına baglı hastanelerin etkinlik dĂŒzeyi ise 0,808'dir. Bu çalısmanın benzerlerinden önemli bir farklılıgı, bir politika aracı olarak kullanılabilecek ve simdiye kadar ĂŒzerinde yeterince durulmamıs olan girdi tıkanıklıgı ve aylak girdilere baglı refah kayıplarının hesaplanmıs olmasıdır. Girdi tıkanıklıgı ve aylak girdilere baglı olarak olusan refah kaybı 4.647.044 YTL'dir

    Interpretation ist ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Forschung in der ArchĂ€ologie und stellt ein konstitutives Problem dar. Dieses Problem betrifft insbesondere die ErklĂ€rung von bestimmten Artefakten, die ĂŒber die AlltagsfunktionalitĂ€t hinausgehende Besonderheiten aufweisen und gemĂ€ĂŸ einer Reduktion der menschlichen RealitĂ€t auf sakral-profan im religiösen Kontext gedeutet werden. In der vorliegenden Forschung wird dieses Problem anhand der Interpretation der Sonderarchitektur im Protoneolithikum als das zentrale Element einer der wichtigsten Epochen der Menschheitsgeschichte behandelt. Hierzu werden die wissenschaftstheoretischen Grundlagen der Forschung aufgearbeitet und eine crossdisziplinĂ€re Strategie zur wissenschaftlichen Interpretation konstruiert. Auf dieser Grundlage wird mit BezĂŒgen auf die Allgemeine Hermeneutik und den allgemeinen Persönlichkeitseigenschaften des Homo sapiens eine neue Theorie entwickelt und ein Forschungsprogramm fĂŒr zukĂŒnftige Untersuchungen konzipiert

    Demand for electricity generation from solar energy, which is a clean and renewable resource, is increasing day by day. It is desirable that the panel surface temperature is not excessively hot while generating electricity with PVT panels. High temperature causes thermal degradation and panel electric efficiency decrease. There are many studies in the literature about active thermal cooling of PVT panels used for electricity generation as well as for storing thermal energy.     Bu çalÄ±ĆŸma TĂŒrkiye’deki bankacılık sektörĂŒndeki hisse senedi performansı ve etkinlik arasındaki iliƟkiyi analiz etmektir. Etkinlik analizleri Stokastik Frontier Analizi (SFA) ile gerçekleƟtirilmiƟtir. Daha sonra bir hisse senedi performans ölĂ§ĂŒmĂŒ olarak piyasa defter değeri, panel veri analizleri kullanılarak etkinliğin oransal değiƟimiyle regresyona tabi tutulmuƟtur. SFA, Ɵube baĆŸÄ±na çalÄ±ĆŸan sayısı ve banka yaĆŸÄ± hisse senetlerinin etkinlikleri ĂŒzerinde negatif yoğunlaƟma oranı ve sermaye yeterlilik oranı pozitif bir etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermiƟtir. Sonuçlar aynı zamanda hisse senedi performansını değerlendirirken bankaların etkinlik seviyesini anlamlı bir faktör olarak dikkate aldıklarını göstermiƟtir.This study aims to investigate the relationship between efficiency and the stock performance of the banking sector in Turkey. Efficiency analysis is conducted via Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). Subsequently, the market-to-book value as a measure of stock performance is regressed against the percentage change in efficiency using panel data analysis. SFA shows that the concentration ratios and capital adequacy ratio have a positive effect on the efficiency of stocks, whereas the number of employees per unit of branches and age influence stocks negatively. The results also show that investors perceive efficiency to be a significant factor in terms of stock performance

    Temperature and stress distributions in micro-tubular SOFC

    The runtime of mobile robotic platforms can be greatly increased using Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) stacks fueled by readily available propane and hybridized with lithium ion batteries. However, SOFC systems suffer long-term degradation due to thermal cycling during startup and shutdown. The operating temperature range of the SOFC is around 800 to 1100 oC. The aim of this study is to understand the factors that influence the lifetime of micro-tubular Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (mSOFC) stacks. Three-dimensional models are developed to investigate the effect of operating conditions and temperature distribution on thermal stresses and electrical performance of mSOFC. The simulation results provide information about the location and magnitude of stresses for a given cell design. In addition, the sensitivity of axial and radial Von Mises stresses are analyzed using various temperature profiles. The model can be used determine the limit of thermal gradient induced stresses in the mSOFC components to avoid rapid degradation

    On the nature of gravitational forces

    In this paper I show how the statistics of the gravitational field is changed when the system is characterized by a non-uniform distribution of particles. I show how the distribution functions W(dF/dt) giving the joint probability that a test particle is subject to a force F and an associated rate of change of F given by dF/dt, are modified by inhomogeneity. Then I calculate the first moment of dF/dt to study the effects of inhomogenity on dynamical friction. Finally I test, by N-Body simulations, that the theoretical W(F) and dF/dt describes correctly the experimental data and I find that the stochastic force distribution obtained for the evolved system is in good agreement with theory. Moreover, I find that in an inhomogeneous background the friction force is actually enhanced relative to the homogeneous case

    Global sensitivity analysis of stochastic computer models with joint metamodels

    The global sensitivity analysis method used to quantify the influence of uncertain input variables on the variability in numerical model responses has already been applied to deterministic computer codes; deterministic means here that the same set of input variables gives always the same output value. This paper proposes a global sensitivity analysis methodology for stochastic computer codes, for which the result of each code run is itself random. The framework of the joint modeling of the mean and dispersion of heteroscedastic data is used. To deal with the complexity of computer experiment outputs, nonparametric joint models are discussed and a new Gaussian process-based joint model is proposed. The relevance of these models is analyzed based upon two case studies. Results show that the joint modeling approach yields accurate sensitivity index estimatiors even when heteroscedasticity is strong
