Diabetes Patients' Care based on Mobile Monitoring
In this paper, we propose a new architecture for diabetes patients. These applications allow the monitoring, patient selfcontrol and communication between patient and doctor. Moreover, as an important study case, we present a mobile monitoring system which allows patients with diabetes to have a constant control of their glucose tendency as well as direct communication with their doctor. Microstructural and magnetic characterization of Fe- and Ir-based multilayers
Nominal [Fe(t)/Ir(t'')](n) (M/Mtype), [FeOx(t)/IrOx(t'')](n) (O/O), and [Fe(t)/IrOx(t'')](n) (M/O) multilayers have been prepared by magnetron sputtering at room temperature. Composition, structure, and magnetic behavior have been analyzed. In the M/M samples, the Fe and Ir phases are identified as bcc and fcc, respectively. The magnetism evolves from bulklike iron to granular behavior as the thickness of the Fe layers decreases. An induced magnetic moment, ferromagnetically coupled to Fe, is observed on Ir by x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). Besides, the presence of negative remanent magnetization is observed in the M/M samples. As for the M/O samples, the stronger affinity of iron for oxygen displaces the oxygen atoms giving rise to actual heterostructures that strongly differ from the nominal ones. For similar thickness of the two layers the Fe layer become oxidized while a mixture of metal and oxide phases is found in the Ir layer. The increase of the Fe thickness leads to a metallic Ir layer and a highly coercive (similar to 4.4 kOe) core-shell metal-oxide structure in the Fe layers
Limits on Relief through Constrained Exchange on Random Graphs
Agents are represented by nodes on a random graph (e.g., small world or
truncated power law). Each agent is endowed with a zero-mean random value that
may be either positive or negative. All agents attempt to find relief, i.e., to
reduce the magnitude of that initial value, to zero if possible, through
exchanges. The exchange occurs only between agents that are linked, a
constraint that turns out to dominate the results. The exchange process
continues until a Pareto equilibrium is achieved. Only 40%-90% of the agents
achieved relief on small world graphs with mean degree between 2 and 40. Even
fewer agents achieved relief on scale-free like graphs with a truncated power
law degree distribution. The rate at which relief grew with increasing degree
was slow, only at most logarithmic for all of the graphs considered; viewed in

Heart morphology differences induced by intrauterine growth restriction and premature birth measured on the ECG in pre-adolescents
Pre-adolescents who had suffered from intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) during their mothers'' pregnancy usually present more spherical hearts (smaller relation between base to apex measure and basal diameter), measured using echocardiograms, which has been associated with long-term cardiac disfunction. The present work aims to analyse these heart morphology changes by means of the surface ECG so as to have an early diagnostic tool of this pathology. The dataset is conformed by 148 pre-adolescents with either preterm or term births, and with or without IUGR. Once QRS and T-wave loops were obtained from the vectorcardiogram, the angles between the dominant vector of the QRS loop and -XY or -YZ planes(FR-XY, FR-YZ) and the difference between FR-XY and the angle between the dominant vector of T-wave loop (FT-XY) and the XY-plane showed different values for pre-adolescents who suffered from premature birth and IUGR than for control subjects (p < 0.05). These characteristics can open the door for a much easier diagnosis and follow-up of candidates for these disfunctions
Desafíos que enfrentan la empresa “WOOD´S LOUNGE BAR” en el subsistema de mantenimiento de los Recursos Humanos en el departamento de Matagalpa, durante el año 2019
El presente estudio de investigación aborda los desafíos que enfrentan las PYMES, específicamente la empresa Wood´s Lounge Bar en el subsistema de mantenimiento de recursos humanos. El propósito de dicha investigación radica, en conocer cómo enfrenta los diferentes desafíos la empresa de acuerdo a su actividad económica, así como sus capacidades, para poder hacerle frente a los cambios en el ambiente empresarial en el que se encuentra Wood´s Lounge Bar para el mantenimiento de sus recursos humanos, dado el contexto socio económico actual en el país. Con respecto, a la metodología utilizada, las variables evaluadas fueron los desafíos que enfrentan las PYMES y el subsistema de mantenimiento de recursos humanos, para lo cual se empleó como herramientas de recopilación de información: encuestas, entrevistas y observación directa. Así mismo, para analizar la información se utilizaron gráficos de barra, los cuales se triangularon para identificar los desafíos que si enfrenta la empresa y para conocer qué elementos del subsistema de mantenimiento de recursos humanos emplea la empresa. La empresa Wood´s Lounge Bar actualmente enfrenta desafíos tanto externos como internos, pero no afectan significativamente el desarrollo organizacional de esta. Cabe señalar, que a pesar de ser una PYME la empresa cuenta con un buen sistema de remuneración para sus empleados, así como cuidados y beneficios especiales que muy pocas PYMES otorgan. Por lo cual, es satisfactorio para todos los colaboradores ser parte de esta organización
Vortex Collisions: Crossing or Recombination?
We investigate the collision of two vortex lines moving with viscous dynamics
and driven towards each other by an applied current. Using London theory in the
approach phase we observe a non-trivial vortex conformation producing
anti-parallel segments; their attractive interaction triggers a violent
collision. The collision region is analyzed using the time-dependent
Ginzburg-Landau equation. While we find vortices will always recombine through
exchange of segments, a crossing channel appears naturally through a double

Extreme Mass Ratio Inspirals: LISA's unique probe of black hole gravity
In this review article I attempt to summarise past and present-ongoing-work
on the problem of the inspiral of a small body in the gravitational field of a
much more massive Kerr black hole. Such extreme mass ratio systems, expected to
occur in galactic nuclei, will constitute prime sources of gravitational
radiation for the future LISA gravitational radiation detector. The article's
main goal is to provide a survey of basic celestial mechanics in Kerr spacetime
and calculations of gravitational waveforms and backreaction on the small
body's orbital motion, based on the traditional `flux-balance' method and the
