The impact of investment strategies and sustainable development goals on organizational effectiveness: mediating role of organizational climate
Organizational effectiveness is the global requirement of every
organization to survive in this competitive era and needs the
focus of recent studies and policymakers. Thus, the researchers
examine the sustainable development goals (SDG) and investment
strategies impact on the organizational effectiveness of automobile
companies in China. The researchers also investigate the
mediating role of organizational climate among the relationships
of SDG, investment strategies and organizational effectiveness of
automobile companies in China. The present article has used the
primary data collection methods and used the survey questionnaires
to gather the data from respondents. The researchers have
also used the Smart PLS to test the validity of the constructs and
relationships among the variables. The results indicated that SDG
and investment strategies have a positive influence on the organizational
effectiveness of automobile companies in China. The
findings also revealed that organizational climate significantly
mediates among the nexus of SDG, investment strategies and
organizational effectiveness of automobile companies in China.
This study guides the regulators while developing the policies
related to the SDG and organizational effectiveness

Non-invasive characterization of cascaded SOAs on InP-based photonic integrated circuits
Semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) are widely used as active elements in optical switching networks for their features of loss compensation and fast reconfiguration time. To optimize the SOA chain operation, it is essential to know the gain response of each SOA. However, the performance of the individual SOA in an on-chip network is challenging to characterize without additional splitters, which increases path insertion losses and, therefore, power consumption. In this work, to address these issues through a feasible and non-disruptive solution, a non-invasive pre-monitoring for N-cascaded SOAs on InP chips is proposed to assess the SOA gain and path losses between cascaded SOAs. This solution utilizes each SOA as both an optical amplifier (OA) and photodetector (PD), characterized by both light propagation directions, forward and backward. We experimentally demonstrate the non-invasive characterization method on a photonic integrated chip (PIC) containing 3-cascaded SOAs, which are part of a photonic integrated SOA-based optical neural network chip. Experimental results show that both losses between SOA and noise can be retrieved and used to obtain the SOA gain curves. The obtained SOA curves are in good agreement with the reference SOA measurements with errors <1.0 dB in gain and <1.5 dB in noise response. These results pave the way to automated non-invasive screening of N-cascaded SOAs in large-scale and packaged PICs.</p
Zheng Banqiao’s Nande hutu
In 1751, Zheng Banqiao wrote his famous calligraphy Nande hutu (难得糊涂; “It’s difficult to be muddled”). Inquiries into the calligraphy reveal different dimensions of the saying. Its most popular interpretation can be found in self-improvement books on “the art of being muddled” (hutuxue). What academic, official, and popular discourses on the saying have in common is their dialectical reasoning and frequent references to other popular related sayings, to quotes from the ancient classics, and to ancient heroes and historical figures. This issue will explore a few interpretations of the saying. Some prove to be critical with regard to the application of its underlying wisdom, while others focus on its philosophical (Confucian, Daoist, Buddhist), psychological, and/or sociocultural dimension. This issue will also shed light on its pragmatic interpretation as a popular strategy to navigate more positively through life
The Trans-Ancestral Genomic Architecture of Glycemic Traits
Glycemic traits are used to diagnose and monitor type 2 diabetes, and cardiometabolic health. To 462 date, most genetic studies of glycemic traits have focused on individuals of European ancestry. Here, 463 we aggregated genome-wide association studies in up to 281,416 individuals without diabetes (30% 464 non-European ancestry) with fasting glucose, 2h-glucose post-challenge, glycated hemoglobin, and 465 fasting insulin data. Trans-ancestry and single-ancestry meta-analyses identified 242 loci (99 novel; 466 P<5x10-8), 80% with no significant evidence of between-ancestry heterogeneity. Analyses restricted 467 to European ancestry individuals with equivalent sample size would have led to 24 fewer new loci. 468 Compared to single-ancestry, equivalent sized trans-ancestry fine-mapping reduced the number of 469 estimated variants in 99% credible sets by a median of 37.5%. Genomic feature, gene-expression 470 and gene-set analyses revealed distinct biological signatures for each trait, highlighting different 471 underlying biological pathways. Our results increase understanding of diabetes pathophysiology by 472 use of trans-ancestry studies for improved power and resolution
