Portuguese tourism demand:a dynamic panel data analysis
This article considers the determinants of Portuguese tourism demand for the period 2004-2013. The econometric methodology uses a panel unit root test and the dynamic panel data (GMM-system estimator). The different techniques of panel unit root (Levin, Lin and Chu; Im, Pesaran and Shin W-stat and augmented Dickey-Fuller - Fisher Chi-square) show that the variables used in this panel are stationary. The dynamic model proves that tourism demand is a dynamic process. The variables relative prices, income per capita, human capital and government spending encourage international tourism demand for Portugal.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Distributional composition using higher-order dependency vectors
This paper concerns how to apply compositional methods to vectors based on grammatical dependency relation vectors. We demonstrate the potential of a novel approach which uses higher-order grammatical dependency relations as features. We apply the approach to adjective-noun compounds with promising results in the prediction of the vectors for (held-out) observed phrases
Lin Chang and Lei Cai in a Faculty Recital
This is the program for the faculty recital featuring violinist Lin Chang and pianist Lei Cai. This recital took place on April 20, 2004, in the W. Francis McBeth Recital Hall
Intensity correlation of ionizing background at high redshifts
Intensity correlation of ionizing background at high redshifts is discussed. The intensity correlation function xi(sub j) and the absorption line equivalent width correlation xi(sub 1/W) are discussed
Bank Incentives, Contract Design, and Bank Runs
We study a version of the Diamond-Dybvig Green-Lin model with a strategic banker.
Conditions at infinity for the inhomogeneous filtration equation
We investigate existence and uniqueness of solutions to the filtration
equation with an inhomogeneous density in , approaching at
infinity a given continuous datum of Dirichlet type.Comment: To appear in Annales de l'Institut Henri Poincar\'e (C) Analyse Non
