ANALISIS STRATEGI PENGENDALIAN BIAYA PRODUKSI PADA PABRIK MINYAK KELAPA SAWIT PT. ABDI BUDI MULIA (ABM)
PT. Abdi Budi Mulia (ABM) merupakan perusahaan swasta nasional yang bergerak di bidang perkebunan dan pabrik kelapa sawit lebih dari 30 tahun. Berdasarkan informasi yang didapat, perusahaan ini bergerak dalam bidang produksi dan pengelolaan Minyak Kelapa Sawit. PT. Abdi Budi Mulia (ABM), Teluk panji berfokus pada penghasil Crude Palm Oil (CPO) dan Inti Sawit yang diolah oleh PKS berkapasitas 45 Ton TBS/Jam. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan pengendalian biaya produksi pada Pabrik Minyak Kelapa Sawit PT. Abdi Budi Mulia (PMKS PT. ABM I) serta untuk mengetahui apakah biaya produksi terkendali di Pabrik Minyak Kelapa Sawit PT. Abdi Budi Mulia ( PMKS PT. ABM I) sehingga mampu meningkatkan profitabilitas produksi. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Untuk memperoleh data-data yang diperlukan, penulis menggunakan metode pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa dengan pengendalikan biaya produksi, perusahaan menyusun anggaran tahunan. Anggaran pengolahan disusun setiap satu tahun sekali pada akhir tahun. Hasil analisis Evaluasi Strategi Pengendalian Biaya: Penelitian pada Pabrik Minyak Kelapa Sawit PT. Abdi Budi Mulia (ABM) mengungkapkan bahwa strategi pengendalian biaya yang diimplementasikan telah memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap efisiensi biaya produksi. Upaya dalam pengoptimalan penggunaan bahan baku, tenaga kerja, dan overhead telah berkontribusi dalam penurunan biaya produksi
Subitizing with Variational Autoencoders
Numerosity, the number of objects in a set, is a basic property of a given
visual scene. Many animals develop the perceptual ability to subitize: the
near-instantaneous identification of the numerosity in small sets of visual
items. In computer vision, it has been shown that numerosity emerges as a
statistical property in neural networks during unsupervised learning from
simple synthetic images. In this work, we focus on more complex natural images
using unsupervised hierarchical neural networks. Specifically, we show that
variational autoencoders are able to spontaneously perform subitizing after
training without supervision on a large amount images from the Salient Object
Subitizing dataset. While our method is unable to outperform supervised
convolutional networks for subitizing, we observe that the networks learn to
encode numerosity as basic visual property. Moreover, we find that the learned
representations are likely invariant to object area; an observation in
alignment with studies on biological neural networks in cognitive neuroscience
Micro-light-emitting diodes with quantum dots in display technology
Micro-light-emitting diodes (μ-LEDs) are regarded as the cornerstone of next-generation display technology to meet the personalised demands of advanced applications, such as mobile phones, wearable watches, virtual/augmented reality, micro-projectors and ultrahigh-definition TVs. However, as the LED chip size shrinks to below 20 μm, conventional phosphor colour conversion cannot present sufficient luminance and yield to support high-resolution displays due to the low absorption cross-section. The emergence of quantum dot (QD) materials is expected to fill this gap due to their remarkable photoluminescence, narrow bandwidth emission, colour tuneability, high quantum yield and nanoscale size, providing a powerful full-colour solution for μ-LED displays. Here, we comprehensively review the latest progress concerning the implementation of μ-LEDs and QDs in display technology, including μ-LED design and fabrication, large-scale μ-LED transfer and QD full-colour strategy. Outlooks on QD stability, patterning and deposition and challenges of μ-LED displays are also provided. Finally, we discuss the advanced applications of QD-based μ-LED displays, showing the bright future of this technology
Interactions between magnetohydrodynamic shear instabilities and convective flows in the solar interior
Motivated by the interface model for the solar dynamo, this paper explores
the complex magnetohydrodynamic interactions between convective flows and
shear-driven instabilities. Initially, we consider the dynamics of a forced
shear flow across a convectively-stable polytropic layer, in the presence of a
vertical magnetic field. When the imposed magnetic field is weak, the dynamics
are dominated by a shear flow (Kelvin-Helmholtz type) instability. For stronger
fields, a magnetic buoyancy instability is preferred. If this stably stratified
shear layer lies below a convectively unstable region, these two regions can
interact. Once again, when the imposed field is very weak, the dynamical
effects of the magnetic field are negligible and the interactions between the
shear layer and the convective layer are relatively minor. However, if the
magnetic field is strong enough to favour magnetic buoyancy instabilities in
the shear layer, extended magnetic flux concentrations form and rise into the
convective layer. These magnetic structures have a highly disruptive effect

Structure of hadron resonances with a nearby zero of the amplitude
We discuss the relation between the analytic structure of the scattering
amplitude and the origin of an eigenstate represented by a pole of the
amplitude.If the eigenstate is not dynamically generated by the interaction in
the channel of interest, the residue of the pole vanishes in the zero coupling
limit. Based on the topological nature of the phase of the scattering
amplitude, we show that the pole must encounter with the
Castillejo-Dalitz-Dyson (CDD) zero in this limit. It is concluded that the
dynamical component of the eigenstate is small if a CDD zero exists near the
eigenstate pole. We show that the line shape of the resonance is distorted from
the Breit-Wigner form as an observable consequence of the nearby CDD zero.
Finally, studying the positions of poles and CDD zeros of the KbarN-piSigma

Improved care of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in two academic emergency departments
Background: Although several chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) practice guidelines have been published, there is sparse data on the actual emergency department (ED) management of acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD). Aims: Our objectives were to examine concordance of ED care of AECOPD in older patients with guideline recommendations and to evaluate whether concordance has improved over time in two academic EDs. Methods: Data were obtained from two cohort studies on AECOPD performed in two academic EDs during two different time periods, 2000 and 2005–2006. Both studies included ED patients, aged 55 and older, who presented with AECOPD, and cases were confirmed by emergency physicians. Data on ED management and disposition were obtained from chart review for both cohorts. Results: The analysis included 272 patients: 72 in the 2000 database and 200 in the 2005–2006 database. The mean age of the patients was 72 years; 50% were women and 80% white. In 2005–2006, overall concordance with guideline recommendations was high (for chest radiography, pulse oximetry, bronchodilators, all ≥ 90%), except for arterial blood gas testing (7% among the admitted) and discharge medication with systemic corticosteroids (42%). Compared to the 2000 data, the use of systemic corticosteroids in the ED improved from 53 to 77% [absolute improvement: 24%, 95% confidence interval (CI): 11–37%], and the use of antibiotics among the patients with respiratory infection symptoms improved from 56 to 78% (absolute improvement: 22%, 95% CI: 6–38%). Conclusions: Overall concordance with guideline-recommended care for AECOPD was high in two academic EDs, and some emergency treatments have improved over time
DHODH modulates transcriptional elongation in the neural crest and melanoma
Melanoma is a tumour of transformed melanocytes, which are originally derived from the embryonic neural crest. It is unknown to what extent the programs that regulate neural crest development interact with mutations in the BRAF oncogene, which is the most commonly mutated gene in human melanoma1. We have used zebrafish embryos to identify the initiating transcriptional events that occur on activation of human BRAF(V600E) (which encodes an amino acid substitution mutant of BRAF) in the neural crest lineage. Zebrafish embryos that are transgenic for mitfa:BRAF(V600E) and lack p53 (also known as tp53) have a gene signature that is enriched for markers of multipotent neural crest cells, and neural crest progenitors from these embryos fail to terminally differentiate. To determine whether these early transcriptional events are important for melanoma pathogenesis, we performed a chemical genetic screen to identify small-molecule suppressors of the neural crest lineage, which were then tested for their effects on melanoma. One class of compound, inhibitors of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH), for example leflunomide, led to an almost complete abrogation of neural crest development in zebrafish and to a reduction in the self-renewal of mammalian neural crest stem cells. Leflunomide exerts these effects by inhibiting the transcriptional elongation of genes that are required for neural crest development and melanoma growth. When used alone or in combination with a specific inhibitor of the BRAF(V600E) oncogene, DHODH inhibition led to a marked decrease in melanoma growth both in vitro and in mouse xenograft studies. Taken together, these studies highlight developmental pathways in neural crest cells that have a direct bearing on melanoma formation
Cytoplasmic PML promotes TGF-β-associated epithelial–mesenchymal transition and invasion in prostate cancer
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a key event that is involved in the invasion and dissemination of cancer cells. Although typically considered as having tumour-suppressive properties, transforming growth factor (TGF)-β signalling is altered during cancer and has been associated with the invasion of cancer cells and metastasis. In this study, we report a previously unknown role for the cytoplasmic promyelocytic leukaemia (cPML) tumour suppressor in TGF-β signalling-induced regulation of prostate cancer-associated EMT and invasion. We demonstrate that cPML promotes a mesenchymal phenotype and increases the invasiveness of prostate cancer cells. This event is associated with activation of TGF-β canonical signalling pathway through the induction of Sma and Mad related family 2 and 3 (SMAD2 and SMAD3) phosphorylation. Furthermore, the cytoplasmic localization of promyelocytic leukaemia (PML) is mediated by its nuclear export in a chromosomal maintenance 1 (CRM1)-dependent manner. This was clinically tested in prostate cancer tissue and shown that cytoplasmic PML and CRM1 co-expression correlates with reduced disease-specific survival. In summary, we provide evidence of dysfunctional TGF-β signalling occurring at an early stage in prostate cancer. We show that this disease pathway is mediated by cPML and CRM1 and results in a more aggressive cancer cell phenotype. We propose that the targeting of this pathway could be therapeutically exploited for clinical benefit
