Quantitative structure-activity relationships for the pre-steady state of Pseudomonas species lipase inhibitions by p-nirophenyl-N-substituted carbamates

    Get PDF
The pre-steady states of Pseudomonas species lipase inhibitions by p-nitrophenyl-N-substituted carbamates (1-6) are composed of two steps: (1) formation of the non-covalent enzyme-inhibitor complex (E:I) from the inhibitor and the enzyme and (2) formation of the tetrahedral enzyme-inhibitor adduct (E-I) from the E:I complex. From a stopped-flow apparatus, the dissociation constant for the E:I complex, K-S, and the rate constant for formation of the tetrahedral E-I adduct from the E:I complex, k(2) are obtained from the non-linear least-squares of curve fittings of first-order rate constant (k(obs)) versus inhibition concentration ([I]) plot against k(obs)=k(2)+k(2)[I]/(K-S+[I]). Values of pK(S), and log k(2) are linearly correlated with the rho(*) values with the rho(*) values of -2.0 and 0.36, respectively. Therefore, the E:I complexes are more positive charges than the inhibitors due to the rho(*) value of -2.0. The tetrahedral E-I adducts on the other hand are more negative charges than the E:I complexes due to the rho(*) value of 0.36. Formation of the E:I complex from the inhibitor and the enzyme are further divided into two steps: (1) the pre-equilibrium protonation of the inhibitor and (2) formation of the E:I complex from the protonated inhibitor and the enzyme

Thermal Unparticles: A New Form of Energy Density in the Universe

Unparticle \U with scaling dimension d_\U has peculiar thermal properties due to its unique phase space structure. We find that the equation of state parameter \omega_\U, the ratio of pressure to energy density, is given by 1/(2d_\U +1) providing a new form of energy in our universe. In an expanding universe, the unparticle energy density \rho_\U(T) evolves dramatically differently from that for photons. For d_\U >1, even if \rho_\U(T_D) at a high decoupling temperature TDT_D is very small, it is possible to have a large relic density \rho_\U(T^0_\gamma) at present photon temperature Tγ0T^0_\gamma, large enough to play the role of dark matter. We calculate TDT_D and \rho_\U(T^0_\gamma) using photon-unparticle interactions for illustration.Comment: 5 pages; v3, journal version

    Cosmological Unparticle Correlators

    Get PDF
We introduce and study an extension of the correlator of unparticle matter operators in a cosmological environment. Starting from FRW spaces we specialize to a de Sitter spacetime and derive its inflationary power spectrum which we find to be almost flat. We finally investigate some consequences of requiring the existence of a unitary boundary conformal field theory in the framework of the dS/CFT correspondence.Comment: 8 pages, 1 figure, to appear on Phys. tbWt \to b W in NonCommutative Standard Model

We study the top quark decay to b quark and W boson in the NonCommutative Standard Model (NCSM). The lowest contribution to the decay comes from the terms quadratic in the matrix describing the noncommutative (NC) effects while the linear term is seen to identically vanish because of symmetry. The NC effects are found to be significant only for low values of the NC characteristic scale.Comment: 11 page Latex file containing 2 eps figures (redrawn). More discussion included. Measurements of the observed cross sections for e+ee^+e^-\to exclusive light hadrons containing π0π0\pi^0\pi^0 at s=3.773\sqrt s= 3.773, 3.650 and 3.6648 GeV

By analyzing the data sets of 17.3, 6.5 and 1.0 pb1^{-1} taken, respectively, at s=3.773\sqrt s= 3.773, 3.650 and 3.6648 GeV with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider, we measure the observed cross sections for e+eπ+ππ0π0e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0\pi^0, K+Kπ0π0K^+K^-\pi^0\pi^0, 2(π+ππ0)2(\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0), K+Kπ+ππ0π0K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0\pi^0 and 3(π+π)π0π03(\pi^+\pi^-)\pi^0\pi^0 at the three energy points. Based on these cross sections we set the upper limits on the observed cross sections and the branching fractions for ψ(3770)\psi(3770) decay into these final states at 90% C.L..Comment: 7 pages, 2 figure

    Using 5.8×107J/ψ5.8 \times 10^7 J/\psi events collected in the BESII detector, the radiative decay J/ψγϕϕγK+KKS0KL0J/\psi \to \gamma \phi \phi \to \gamma K^+ K^- K^0_S K^0_L is studied. The ϕϕ\phi\phi invariant mass distribution exhibits a near-threshold enhancement that peaks around 2.24 GeV/c2c^{2}. A partial wave analysis shows that the structure is dominated by a 0+0^{-+} state (η(2225)\eta(2225)) with a mass of 2.240.02+0.030.02+0.032.24^{+0.03}_{-0.02}{}^{+0.03}_{-0.02} GeV/c2c^{2} and a width of 0.19±0.030.04+0.060.19 \pm 0.03^{+0.06}_{-0.04} GeV/c2c^{2}. The product branching fraction is: Br(J/ψγη(2225))Br(η(2225)ϕϕ)=(4.4±0.4±0.8)×104Br(J/\psi \to \gamma \eta(2225))\cdot Br(\eta(2225)\to \phi\phi) = (4.4 \pm 0.4 \pm 0.8)\times 10^{-4}.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures. corrected proof for journa

    By analyzing about 33 pb1\rm pb^{-1} data sample collected at and around 3.773 GeV with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider, we directly measure the branching fractions for the neutral and charged DD inclusive semimuonic decays to be BF(D0μ+X)=(6.8±1.5±0.7)BF(D^0 \to \mu^+ X) =(6.8\pm 1.5\pm 0.7)% and BF(D+μ+X)=(17.6±2.7±1.8)BF(D^+ \to \mu^+ X) =(17.6 \pm 2.7 \pm 1.8)%, and determine the ratio of the two branching fractions to be BF(D+μ+X)BF(D0μ+X)=2.59±0.70±0.25\frac{BF(D^+ \to \mu^+ X)}{BF(D^0 \to \mu^+ X)}=2.59\pm 0.70 \pm 0.25
