The PASTEL catalogue of stellar parameters

The PASTEL catalogue is an update of the [Fe/H] catalogue, published in 1997 and 2001. It is a bibliographical compilation of stellar atmospheric parameters providing (Teff,logg,[Fe/H]) determinations obtained from the analysis of high resolution, high signal-to-noise spectra, carried out with model atmospheres. PASTEL also provides determinations of the one parameter Teff based on various methods. It is aimed in the future to provide also homogenized atmospheric parameters and elemental abundances, radial and rotational velocities. A web interface has been created to query the catalogue on elaborated criteria. PASTEL is also distributed through the CDS database and VizieR. To make it as complete as possible, the main journals have been surveyed, as well as the CDS database, to find relevant publications. The catalogue is regularly updated with new determinations found in the literature. As of Febuary 2010, PASTEL includes 30151 determinations of either Teff or (Teff,logg,[Fe/H]) for 16649 different stars corresponding to 865 bibliographical references. Nearly 6000 stars have a determination of the three parameters (Teff,logg,[Fe/H]) with a high quality spectroscopic metallicity.Comment: 5 pages, accepted for publication in A&A. The deep-sea macrobenthos on the continental slope of the northwestern Mediterranean Sea: a quantitative approach

As part of the ECOMARGE operation (J.G.O.F.S. France), macrobenthic assemblages in the Toulon Canyon were described and quantified on the basis of sampling carried out between 250 and 2000 m depth on the Mediterranean continental slope. Results show that Mediterranean bathyal assemblages are made up mainly of continental shelf eurybathic species. The qualitative and quantitative composition of populations varies with depth on the slope and also varies with station position at equivalent depth, whether on the flanks or in the canyon channel. Various analyses have provided evidence on the factors responsible for this population distribution pattern. No single factor emerges as predominant, but rather a group of factors, which are related to the nature and origin of sediments and more particularly their grain size distribution, geochemical composition and mode of transportation and sedimentation (benthic nepheloid or originating from the water column), act in conjunction to determine the pattern. Comparison with ocean continental slopes shows that in the Mediterranean Sea the absence of tidal current modifies the trophic structure of the macrobenthic assemblages, which are characterized by a dominance of surface and subsurface deposit feeders as compared to a dominance of suspension feeders and carnivores in the upper and median part of the slope in the ocean. Surface dumping of dredge spoil at the canyon head and channelling of waste induces an increase of organic matter and pollutant concentrations in sediment from the upper part of the canyon channel but does not give rise to any marked population degradation

Pourquoi sélectionner de nouvelles variétés de blé tendre adaptées à l’agriculture biologique ?

International audienceLongtemps marginale en France, l’agriculture biologique est un secteur émergent à fort potentiel : les objectifs fixés par la loi Grenelle I ambitionnaient de faire passer les surfaces cultivées en agriculture biologique de 2% de la SAU française à 6% en 2012 puis de franchir un nouveau palier avec une couverture de 20% de la SAU en 2020. Même si en réalité c’est seulement 3% de la SAU qui est actuellement cultivée en agriculture biologique, les recherches consacrées à ce domaine, dont le cahier des charges interdit le recours aux produits de la chimie de synthèse, permettent d’anticiper le probable fort renchérissement du coût de l’énergie fossile (pic pétrolier).Ce travail pionnier de réduction des engrais et des pesticides sera alors utile à l’ensemble de l’agriculture. Tous les systèmes de culture ont bénéficié des progrès de la sélection végétale excepté l’agriculture biologique, parent pauvre de l’amélioration génétique. En effet la sélection s’est faite depuis 50 ans pour des itinéraires techniques artificialisés pour lesquels la fertilisation azotée minérale est abondante et où les herbicides sont utilisés pour lutter contre les adventices des cultures. Elle a conduit à l’obtention de variétés à paille courte donc peu concurrentielles vis-à-vis des mauvaises herbes et qui peinent en conditions de disponibilités réduites en azote, conditions rencontrées en agriculture biologique. La sélection variétale sur des critères adaptés à ces milieux aux contraintes fortes se justifie. Nous présenterons pourquoi elle peut être porteuse d’enseignements et discuterons de sa possible évolution au regard des premiers résultats obtenus

Analgesia transoperatória e estabilidade anestésica de gatas tratadas com eletroacuputura

The aim of this study was to evaluate analgesia and anesthesia stability from acupoints electrostimulation IG4, C7, PC6 (G1) and BP6, E36 and VB34 (G2) on 12 healthy cats submitted to ovariohysterectomy (OH). Electroacupuncture (EA) was performed with frequencies 3 and 300 Hz, 20 min before starting surgery, remaining until the end. The parameters RR, HR, SBP and RT were measured in M0 (basal), M1 (15 min after PAM), M2 (immediately before EA), M3 (20 min after EA) and M4 on every 10 min. From M2, ETISO, ETCO2 and SpO2 were also evaluated. Times were recorded as: Anesthetic Adjustment (TAA); Total Surgery (TTC); Total Anesthesia (TTA); Extubation (TE) and Total Recovery (TTR). Acepromazine (MPA), propofol (induction) and isoflurane (maintenance) were administered. In both groups, there was a decrease from RR and HR in M3 and from SBP in M2, in relation to M0, hypotension persisted, progressive decrease from RT, ETISO mean 1.48V% in G1 and 1.56% in G2 and hypocapnia. It was concluded that the two electrostimulation protocols promoted transurgical analgesia with consequent isoflurane consumption reduction, but with hypotensive effect.Objetivou-se avaliar a analgesia e estabilidade anestésica da eletroestimulação dos acupontos IG4, C7, PC6 (G1) e BP6, E36 e VB34 (G2), em 12 gatas hígidas submetidas à ovariohisterectomia (OH). Realizou-se eletroacupuntura (EA) com frequências de 3 e 300 Hz, 20 min antes de iniciar a cirurgia, permanecendo até o final. Os parâmetros FR, FC, PAS e TR foram mensurados em M0 (basal), M1 (15 min após MPA), M2 (imediatamente anterior a EA), M3 (20 min após EA) e M4 em diante a cada 10 min. A partir de M2 também se avaliou ETISO, ETCO2 e SpO2. Foram contabilizados os tempos de Ajuste Anestésico (TAA); Total de Cirurgia (TTC); Total de Anestesia (TTA); Extubação (TE) e Total de Recuperação (TTR). Administrou-se acepromazina (MPA), propofol (indução) e isoflurano (manutenção). Em ambos os grupos, houve diminuição da FR e FC em M3 e da PAS em M2, em relação ao M0, persistindo hipotensão, diminuição progressiva da TR, média de ETISO de 1,48V% no G1 e 1,56V% no G2 e hipocapnia. Conclui-se que os dois protocolos de eletroestimulação promoveram analgesia transcirúrgica com consequente diminuição de consumo de isoflurano, porém com efeito hipotensor

A proteção do consumidor na alienação fiduciária em garantia de bens móveis: análise crítica da jurisprudência do Superior Tribunal de Justiça acerca da possibilidade de purgação da mora pelo devedor

No mercado brasileiro de consumo, milhares de contratos são celebrados diuturnamente com a condição de alienação fiduciária em garantia de bens móveis, sendo largamente utilizada principalmente para a aquisição de veículos automotores. Esse instituto foi introduzido no Brasil com o intuito de alavancar o mercado de capitais através do chamado crédito direto ao consumidor, facilitando assim, a compra de bens através do financiamento. Sendo assim, tal modalidade de negócio é caracterizado como típico contrato de adesão, vez que é elaborado unilateramente pelas Instituições Financeiras, ora credoras, possuindo no bojo de seus contratos cláusulas tidas como abusivas que prejudicam sobremaneira o consumidor, tido como parte vulnerável dessa relação jurídica. Pois bem, caso o devedor fique inadimplente de qualquer uma das parcelas do financiamento de seu automóvel, a instituição financeira valendo-se de uma liminar em ação de busca e apreensão extremamente célere e autônoma, estipulada pelo Decreto-lei 911/69 e sua posterior alteração dada pela Lei 10.931/2004, poderá requerer a retomada do bem caso o devedor não efetue o pagamento da integralidade da dívida pendente, ou seja, as parcelas vencidas e vincendas, em um curtíssimo prazo de 05 (cinco) dias. Serão estudados, portanto, os desdobramentos da alienação fiduciária em garantia, com a possível perda do bem ante a impossibilidade de purgação da mora contratual, entendimento este que foi consolidado pelo Superior Tribunal de Justiça. Será realizada uma análise crítica da jurisprudência desta Corte enfatizando o necessário diálogo das fontes entre o CDC e as leis especiais da alienação fiduciária, passando também por uma breve explanação da possibilidade da purgação da mora através da teoria do adimplemento substancial, bem como, a proteção do consumidor que deveria incidir nesses contratos

M2000 : an astrometric catalog in the Bordeaux Carte du Ciel zone +11 degrees < {delta} < +18 degrees

During four years, systematic observations have been conducted in drift scan mode with the Bordeaux automated meridian circle in the declination band [+11 ; +18]. The resulting astrometric catalog includes about 2 300 000 stars down to the magnitude limit V_M=16.3. Nearly all stars (96%) have been observed at least 6 times, the catalog being complete down to V_M=15.4. The median internal standard error in position is about 35 mas in the V_M magnitude range [11 ; 15], which degrades to about 50 mas when the faintest stars are considered. M2000 provides also one band photometry with a median internal standard error of 0.04 mag. Comparisons with the Hipparcos and bright part of Tycho-2 catalogs have enabled to estimate external errors in position to be lower than 40 mas. Norme pro-environnementale et participation : entre adhésion et clairvoyance normative (une étude comparée entre habitants d'écoquartier et habitants de quartier ordinaire)

L’ampleur prise par les préoccupations liées à l'écologie se révèle dans la constitution d’un discours dominant essentiellement prescriptif. Il en découle une nouvelle norme sociale : la norme pro-environnementale. Au-delà de la préconisation de Comportements Écologiques Responsables, le discours ambiant insiste sur la nécessité d'une participation massive des habitants à la vie de leur quartier. Cette injonction participative apparaît, en particulier, dans les projets urbanistiques dits écoquartiers. La comparaison de deux échantillons de 100 habitants (issus d'un quartier traditionnel et d'un écoquartier) met en évidence que les habitants des écoquartiers montrent une plus grande clairvoyance que les autres. Cela signifie qu'ils ont une meilleure connaissance de la nature socialement valorisée du discours écologique. Cette clairvoyance porte, tout particulièrement sur la nécessité de la participation locale à la vie de quartier. Cependant, le haut niveau de clairvoyance vient remettre en question le crédit à accorder aux réponses des habitants des écoquartiers concernant leur adhésion à des comportements écologiques responsables et leur participation réelle à la vie locale.The dimension taken by ecology-related issues is revealed in the establishment of a dominant ideology essentially prescriptive in nature. From this a new social norm has appeared : the pro-environmental norm. More than just recommending Ecologically Responsible Behaviour, prevailing opinion insists that inhabitants become involved on a grand scale in the life of their neighbourhood. This demand for participation is particularly apparant in urban Eco-neighbourhood projects. The comparison of two groups of 100 inhabitants (of an Eco-neighbourhood and a traditional one) shows that Eco-neighbourhood inhabitants have a greater normative clear-sightedness than the others. This means that they are better acquainted with the socially valorising nature of pro-ecological attitudes. This clear-sightedness is especially apparant on the issue of local involvement in neighbourhood life. However, the high level of clear-sightedness leads us to question how much credit can be given to the answers of eco-neighbourhood inhabitants concerning their involvement in ecologically responsible behaviour and the true level of their participation in local life
