    Notas a una estética del olvido

    La literatura no se ha mantenido indiferente respecto de sucesos que han dejado marcas en la historia de las sociedades, particularmente aquellos concebidos como traumáticos. Tradicionalmente, las narraciones suscitadas por ellos se sustentan en el trabajo con la memoria y delinean un sujeto que asume el estatuto de testigo narrador. En este marco, ¿resulta factible pensar relatos que se funden en el olvido? Si así lo fuera, ¿qué tipo de sujeto propondrían? Tales cuestiones invitan a pensar y discutir una estética del olvido. Esta estética torna evidentes las limitaciones del lenguaje para abordarlo como objeto y confieren a quien narra una subjetividad diferenciada del sujeto de la memoria, por la cual no intenta superar aquellas dificultades sino que las asume, las expone y las explora. La estética del olvido propone una lectura alternativa a la que lo opone, sin mayores contemplaciones, a la memoria –antinomia en la que el primero de los términos se reviste una valoración negativa–.     Management in patient with rheumatoid arthritis and tuberculous arthritis: a case report

    Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is mainly treated with immunosuppressive drugs, which affects the immunological system. Therefore, the risk of tuberculosis was increased two to ten times in RA patients. Moreover, immunosuppressant is contraindicated in patients with tuberculosis arthritis. A 51-year-old male was presented with pain in his left elbow after he slipped on the floor. He was diagnosed with RA for 16 years and only took prednisone for six years. Six months before, he came to a rheumatologist and was given corticosteroid for six months for RA. The left elbow radiograph and joint aspiration revealed a tuberculosis infection. The patient treated with chloroquine and oral antituberculosis for one year and showed good clinical outcomes. Other diseases should be suspected in RA with uncommon symptoms. Chloroquine is the drug of choice in RA patients with tuberculosis who are contraindicated in immunosuppressant therapy because chloroquine has no immunosuppressant effect

    Animal assisted interventions in neurorehabilitation: a review of the most recent literature

    Introduction: While conventional wisdom has always affirmed the value of animals in promoting human health and well-being, only recently has their therapeutic role in medicine become a topic for dedicated research. Animal assisted interventions (AAI) can be classified as animal-assisted activities, animal-assisted therapy, and service animal programmes. Objective: The aim of this review is to analyse original papers addressing AAI and neurological diseases and published in the most influential medical journals between 2001 and 2012, and discuss their findings in the light of what may be of interest in the field of neurology. Discussion: We selected a total of 23 articles on neurorehabilitation in cerebral palsy, pervasive developmental disorders, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, stroke, and mental disorders. The main therapeutic results were improvement on the Gross Motor Function Classification Scale and in upper limb dexterity (cerebral palsy); improvement in social functioning and interaction; reductions in stress, anxiety, and loneliness (pervasive developmental disorders and mental disorders); and decreased spasticity with improved balance (multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, stroke). Conclusion: These interventions, performed with highly specialised animals in very specific neurological populations, deliver an increasing body of scientific evidence suggesting that they are an effective complement to other existing therapies. In these diseases, further high-quality studies are warranted in order to define the most appropriate programmes for therapy. Resumen: Introducción: Aunque siempre se ha afirmado el valor de los animales en la promoción del bienestar y la salud del ser humano, solo recientemente su papel terapéutico en medicina se ha convertido en el foco de investigación especializada. Las intervenciones asistidas por animales pueden dividirse en actividades asistidas por animales, terapia asistida por animales y programas de animales de servicio. Objetivo: El objetivo de esta revisión es analizar las publicaciones realizadas entre 2001 y 2012 en las revistas médicas más importantes, relacionadas con el campo de la rehabilitación de las enfermedades neurológicas, y discutir estos hallazgos a la luz de lo que pueda ser de interés para la neurología. Discusión: Se seleccionaron un total de 23 artículos de intervenciones en el campo de la parálisis cerebral infantil, trastornos generalizados del desarrollo, esclerosis múltiple, lesión medular, accidente cerebrovascular y trastornos mentales. Los principales resultados terapéuticos fueron: mejoría en la Gross Motor Function y en el manejo del miembro superior (parálisis cerebral infantil); aumento de la socialización y el contacto con el medio ambiente, reducción del estrés y la ansiedad y sentimientos de soledad (trastornos generalizados del desarrollo y trastornos mentales); disminución de la espasticidad y mejoría del equilibrio (esclerosis múltiple, lesión medular, accidente cerebrovascular). Conclusiones: Estas intervenciones asistidas con un tipo de animales muy limitado utilizadas en grupos clínicos neurológicos muy específicos muestran cada vez más pruebas científicas, como método complementario a otras terapias ya existentes. En estas enfermedades, se necesitan más estudios de alta calidad metodológica que permitan definir los programas más apropiados para la aplicación terapéutica.     This research was conducted to determine the diversity of types of orchids (Orchidacea). This research was carried out in the Protected Forest of Ajaobaki Village, North Mollo Sub-District, South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. It was carried out for 1 month, from July to August 2020. This study used purposive sampling, survey and transect pathway methods. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. The data were processed using the Shannon Wiener diversity index formula (H ').&nbsp;The results showed that there were 10 types of epiphytic orchids found in the sampling plot in the protected forest of Ajaobaki Village. The most common orchids found were Dendrobium secundum as many as 569 species and the least was Lipariscrenulata with 2 species. There are 3 types of trees recorded, namely Ampupu (Eucalyptus urophylla), Cemara (Casuarina junghuniana), and Mahogany (Swietenie mahagoni). Protected forest areas have homogeneous forest types, which has the most tree types that are mostly dominated by Pine trees (Casuarina junghuniana). The host tree for orchids that is more dominant as the attachment for orchids is the Pine tree (Casuarina junghuniana). The results of the calculation of the diversity of orchids on the observation plot were calculated using the Shannon winner index of 1.87 (H '). The diversity types of orchid (Orchidacea) in the protected forest of Ajaobaki Village having moderate diversity (1≤H’≤3) because there is a lot of orchid theft and also taking firewood in the Protected Forest so that there are fewer orchids

    Temperature dependence of underdense nanostructure formation in tungsten under helium irradiation

    Recently, tungsten has been found to form a highly underdense nanostructured morphology ("W fuzz") when bombarded by an intense flux of He ions, but only in the temperature window 900-2000 K. Using object kinetic Monte Carlo simulations (pseudo-3D simulations) parameterized from first principles, we show that this temperature dependence can be understood based on He and point defect clustering, cluster growth, and detrapping reactions. At low temperatures (2300 K), all He is detrapped from clusters, preventing the formation of the large clusters that lead to fuzz growth in the intermediate temperature range. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V.     Overview of the JET results in support to ITER

    The 2014-2016 JET results are reviewed in the light of their significance for optimising the ITER research plan for the active and non-active operation. More than 60 h of plasma operation with ITER first wall materials successfully took place since its installation in 2011. New multi-machine scaling of the type I-ELM divertor energy flux density to ITER is supported by first principle modelling. ITER relevant disruption experiments and first principle modelling are reported with a set of three disruption mitigation valves mimicking the ITER setup. Insights of the L-H power threshold in Deuterium and Hydrogen are given, stressing the importance of the magnetic configurations and the recent measurements of fine-scale structures in the edge radial electric. Dimensionless scans of the core and pedestal confinement provide new information to elucidate the importance of the first wall material on the fusion performance. H-mode plasmas at ITER triangularity (H = 1 at beta(N) similar to 1.8 and n/n(GW) similar to 0.6) have been sustained at 2 MA during 5 s. The ITER neutronics codes have been validated on high performance experiments. Prospects for the coming D-T campaign and 14 MeV neutron calibration strategy are reviewed.Peer reviewe

    The formin FHOD1 and the small GTPase Rac1 promote vaccinia virus actin-based motility

    Vaccinia virus dissemination relies on the N-WASP– ARP2/3 pathway, which mediates actin tail formation underneath cell-associated extracellular viruses (CEVs). Here, we uncover a previously unappreciated role for the formin FHOD1 and the small GTPase Rac1 in vaccinia actin tail formation. FHOD1 depletion decreased the number of CEVs forming actin tails and impaired the elongation rate of the formed actin tails. Recruitment of FHOD1 to actin tails relied on its GTPase binding domain in addition to its FH2 domain. In agreement with previous studies showing that FHOD1 is activated by the small GTPase Rac1, Rac1 was enriched and activated at the membrane surrounding actin tails. Rac1 depletion or expression of dominant-negative Rac1 phenocopied the effects of FHOD1 depletion and impaired the recruitment of FHOD1 to actin tails. FHOD1 overexpression rescued the actin tail formation defects observed in cells overexpressing dominant-negative Rac1. Altogether, our results indicate that, to display robust actin-based motility, vaccinia virus integrates the activity of the N-WASP– ARP2/3 and Rac1–FHOD1 pathways.Fil: Alvarez, Diego Ezequiel.
