Radii and binding energies in oxygen isotopes: a puzzle for nuclear forces
We present a systematic study of both nuclear radii and binding energies in
(even) oxygen isotopes from the valley of stability to the neutron drip line.
Both charge and matter radii are compared to state-of-the-art {\it ab initio}
calculations along with binding energy systematics. Experimental matter radii
are obtained through a complete evaluation of the available elastic proton
scattering data of oxygen isotopes. We show that, in spite of a good
reproduction of binding energies, {\it ab initio} calculations with
conventional nuclear interactions derived within chiral effective field theory
fail to provide a realistic description of charge and matter radii. A novel
version of two- and three-nucleon forces leads to considerable improvement of
the simultaneous description of the three observables for stable isotopes, but
shows deficiencies for the most neutron-rich systems. Thus, crucial challenges
related to the development of nuclear interactions remain.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, Submitted to Nature Physics, April 12th 2016;

γ spectroscopy of 25 , 27 Ne and 26 , 27 Na
The γ spectroscopy of 25, 27 Ne and 26, 27 Na was studied from the reaction of 26 Ne with a deuterium target in inverse kinematics at 9.7 MeV/nucleon. The selectivity of the (d,p), (d,t), and (d,n) transfer reactions provides new spectroscopic information on low-lying states. The validity of the sd shell-model space for these nuclei isdiscussed
Investigation of the 6He cluster structures
The 4He+2n and t+t clustering of the 6He ground state were investigated by
means of the transfer reaction 6He(p,t)4He at 25 MeV/nucleon. The experiment
was performed in inverse kinematics at GANIL with the SPEG spectrometer coupled
to the MUST array. Experimental data for the transfer reaction were analyzed by
a DWBA calculation including the two neutrons and the triton transfer. The
couplings to the 6He --> 4He + 2n breakup channels were taken into account with
a polarization potential deduced from a coupled-discretized-continuum channels
analysis of the 6He+1H elastic scattering measured at the same time. The
influence on the calculations of the 4He+t exit potential and of the triton
sequential transfer is discussed. The final calculation gives a spectroscopic
factor close to one for the 4He+2n configuration as expected. The spectroscopic
factor obtained for the t+t configuration is much smaller than the theoretical
predictions.Comment: 10 pages, 11 figures, accepted in PR
Calculations of He+p elastic scattering cross sections using folding approach and high-energy approximation for the optical potential
Calculations of microscopic optical potentials (OP's) (their real and
imaginary parts) are performed to analyze the He+p elastic scattering data
at a few tens of MeV/nucleon (MeV/N). The OP's and the cross sections are
calculated using three model densities of He. Effects of the regularization
of the NN forces and their dependence on nuclear density are investigated.
Also, the role of the spin-orbit terms and of the non-linearity in the
calculations of the OP's, as well as effects of their renormalization are
studied. The sensitivity of the cross sections to the nuclear densities was
tested and one of them that gives a better agreement with the data was chosen.Comment: 13 pages, 11 figures, to be published in Eur. Phys. J.
Structure of unbound neutron-rich He studied using single-neutron transfer
The 8He(d,p) reaction was studied in inverse kinematics at 15.4A MeV using
the MUST2 Si-CsI array in order to shed light on the level structure of 9He.
The well known 16O(d,p)17O reaction, performed here in reverse kinematics, was
used as a test to validate the experimental methods. The 9He missing mass
spectrum was deduced from the kinetic energies and emission angles of the
recoiling protons. Several structures were observed above the neutron-emission
threshold and the angular distributions were used to deduce the multipolarity
of the transitions. This work confirms that the ground state of 9He is located
very close to the neutron threshold of 8He and supports the occurrence of
parity inversion in 9He.Comment: Exp\'erience GANIL/SPIRAL1/MUST
Probing the 6He halo structure with elastic and inelastic proton scattering
Proton elastic scattering and inelastic scattering to the first excited state
of 6He have been measured over a wide angular range using a 40.9A MeV 6He beam.
The data have been analyzed with a fully microscopic model of proton-nucleus
scattering using 6He wave functions generated from large space shell model
calculations. The inelastic scattering data show a remarkable sensitivity to
the halo structure of 6He.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures. RevTeX. Replaced figure 3 with updated figur

The N=14 shell closure in O viewed through a neutron sensitive probe
NESTER PTHInternational audienceTo investigate the behavior of the N=14 neutron gap far from stability with a neutron-sensitive probe, proton elastic and 2+1 inelastic scattering angular distributions for the neutron-rich nucleus 22O were measured with a secondary beam intensity of only 1200 particles per second using the MUST silicon strip detector array at the GANIL facility. A phenomenological analysis yields a deformation parameter bp;p' = 0.26 +- 0.04 for the 2+1 state, much lower than in 20O, showing a surprisingly weak neutron contribution to this state. A fully microscopic analysis was performed using optical potentials obtained from matter and transition densities generated by continuum Skyrme-HFB and QRPA calculations, respectively. When the present results and those from a 22O + 197Au scattering experiment are combined, the ratio of neutron to proton contributions to the 2+1 state is found close to the N/Z ratio, demonstrating a strong N=14 shell closure in the vicinity of the neutron drip-line
