    Magnetic and Magneto-Optical Properties of Fe75-xMn25Gax Heusler-like Compounds

    Fe75-xMn25Gax Heusler-like compounds were investigated in a wide range of Fe/Ga ratios while keeping the Mn content constant and equal 25 at% in order to elucidate the interplay between magnetic properties and composition. Materials were prepared by arc-melting from pure elements and subsequently annealed. Experimental investigations were focused on magnetization behavior in a wide temperature range from 4 to 1000 K and magnetic field up to 9 T. Optical and magneto-optical (MO) measurements were employed to shed more light on the magnetic state and electronic structure of investigated materials. Magnetization measurements indicated that in the vicinity of stoichiometry (Fe2MnGa) the compounds are ferro/ferrimagnetic, whereas the Fe-deficient compound is paramagnetic and at high Fe concentration the antiferromagnetic interaction prevails. Theoretical calculations of corresponding ordered and disordered stoichiometric compounds were carried out and compared to the experiment on the level of net magnetic moment as well as magneto-optical spectra. This comparison suggests that the Heusler crystal structure, L2(1), is not present even close to stoichiometry. Moreover, the comparison of density of states (DOS) for ordered and disordered structures allowed us to explain missing martensitic transformation (MT) in investigated materials

    Survey of Period Variations of Superhumps in SU UMa-Type Dwarf Novae

    We systematically surveyed period variations of superhumps in SU UMa-type dwarf novae based on newly obtained data and past publications. In many systems, the evolution of superhump period are found to be composed of three distinct stages: early evolutionary stage with a longer superhump period, middle stage with systematically varying periods, final stage with a shorter, stable superhump period. During the middle stage, many systems with superhump periods less than 0.08 d show positive period derivatives. Contrary to the earlier claim, we found no clear evidence for variation of period derivatives between superoutburst of the same object. We present an interpretation that the lengthening of the superhump period is a result of outward propagation of the eccentricity wave and is limited by the radius near the tidal truncation. We interpret that late stage superhumps are rejuvenized excitation of 3:1 resonance when the superhumps in the outer disk is effectively quenched. Many of WZ Sge-type dwarf novae showed long-enduring superhumps during the post-superoutburst stage having periods longer than those during the main superoutburst. The period derivatives in WZ Sge-type dwarf novae are found to be strongly correlated with the fractional superhump excess, or consequently, mass ratio. WZ Sge-type dwarf novae with a long-lasting rebrightening or with multiple rebrightenings tend to have smaller period derivatives and are excellent candidate for the systems around or after the period minimum of evolution of cataclysmic variables (abridged).Comment: 239 pages, 225 figures, PASJ accepte

Obsahem práce je seznámit čtenáře s technologií AAL systémů a jejím využití v reálném prostředí a následném hodnocení jak od monitorovaných osob, tak od pečovatelských pracovníků. Přínosem diplomové práce je mimo jiné také praktická demonstrace možnosti využití termokamery v AAL systémech a vyhodnocení různých modelových situací.ObhájenoThis diploma thesis aims is to acquaint readers with the technologies of assisted living in the home (AAL - Ambient assisted living) and their use for the supervision of single elderly people.     Production of the "Cover" component

    The thesis proposes the production design of a cover component used as a ventilator cover of a water pump. In compliance with the studied literature, the cover will be made from polypropylene using the injection moulding technology. Based on the technological calculations, it puts forward a complete double mould with a cold inlet. The design solution was verified by simulations of filling and cooling, and a suitable injection machine was selected as per the calculated parameters. Finally the thesis explores the possibility for defects and presents the technical-economic evaluation for the entire production
