    Two-step percolation in aggregating systems

    The two-step percolation behavior in aggregating systems was studied both experimentally and by means of Monte Carlo (MC) simulations. In experimental studies, the electrical conductivity, σ\sigma, of colloidal suspension of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in decane was measured. The suspension was submitted to mechanical de-liquoring in a planar filtration-compression conductometric cell. During de-liquoring, the distance between the measuring electrodes continuously decreased and the CNT volume fraction φ\varphi continuously increased (from 10310^{-3} up to 0.3\approx 0.3% v/v). The two percolation thresholds at φ1103\varphi_{1}\lesssim 10^{-3} and φ2102\varphi_{2}\approx 10^{-2} can reflect the interpenetration of loose CNT aggregates and percolation across the compact conducting aggregates, respectively. The MC computational model accounted for the core-shell structure of conducting particles or their aggregates, the tendency of a particle for aggregation, the formation of solvation shells, and the elongated geometry of the conductometric cell. The MC studies revealed two smoothed percolation transitions in σ(φ)\sigma(\varphi) dependencies that correspond to the percolation through the shells and cores, respectively. The data demonstrated a noticeable impact of particle aggregation on anisotropy in electrical conductivity σ(φ)\sigma(\varphi) measured along different directions in the conductometric cell.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figure

    Optical Properties of atmospheric dust from twilight observations

    Three methods of approximation are described and used to separate the primary twilight brightness from the observed brightness. Photoelectric observations obtained are combined with observations from a balloon and from the observatory to derive the atmospheric scattering phase functions of 0.37 micron and 0.58 micron as a function of height. Comparison of these data with data for a Rayleigh atmosphere provide information on the optical properties of dust in the upper atmosphere

    QED Electrical Conductivity using the 2PI Effective Action

    In this article we calculate the electrical conductivity in QED using the 2PI effective action. We use a modified version of the usual 2PI effective action which is defined with respect to self-consistent solutions of the 2-point functions. We show that the green functions obtained from this modified effective action satisfy ward identities and that the conductivity obtained from the kubo relation is gauge invariant. We work to 3-loop order in the modified 2PI effective action and show explicitly that the resulting expression for the conductivity contains the square of the amplitude that corresponds to all binary collision and production processes.Comment: 24 pages, 21 figure

    Algorithm of influence of surface water sources as a risk factor for the health of the population

    This article is about elderly Sami women who are front figures in the ethno-political mobilisation movement, acting from artistic platforms or in traditional political arenas. The Sami culture has been described as male-dominated and Sami women as dually oppressed, belonging to a minority people while also being women, but there are many Sami women, especially the elderly, who in recent decades have emerged as prominent figures in the fight for the survival of Sami culture. How do these prominent figures describe their own position and status? What strategies do they use, as elderly Sami women, to enter the Sami and non-Sami public spheres? How do they tell their story, what is it that motivates them, what obstacles have they faced and what has helped them? This chapter conducts an intersectional analysis on an individual level of the strategic approaches of three women. I have looked at the way these strategies emerge in the women's life stories. Depending on special circumstances, either currently or earlier in their life, ethnicity, gender, age and class are emphasized to various degrees in the different narratives

    Immunogenetic Status of Children with Mild Iodine Deficiency, Latent Iron Deficiency and Their Combination

    Due to the prevalence of microelementosis (including iodine and iron deficiencies), cytogenetic abnormalities in children with microelement imbalance were studied.The objective of the research was to assess the abnormalities in the immunogenetic status of the organism by the frequency and spectrum of chromosomal aberrations, associations of acrocentric chromosomes and to determine the frequency of micronuclei in peripheral blood leukocytes in children with mild iodine deficiency, latent iron deficiency and their combination.Materials and methods. There were examined 68 boys and 65 girls at the age of 6 to 18 years. In the analysis of indicators, the main attention was paid to the age- (6-11 and 12-18 years) and gender-related peculiarities.Results and discussion. In all the children, associations of acrocentric chromosomes of two chromosomes were most commonly observed: in the control group, this indicator was 73.74%; in iodine deficiency, it was 67.72%; in iron deficiency, it was 67.68%; in combined microelementosis, the indictor was 68.68%. Chromosomal abnormalities were recorded in 56.03% of children. However, in the control group, this indicator was 40.94%, while in microelement imbalance, it was 71.13%. The most significant changes in the spectrum of chromosomal aberrations were identified in iodine and iron deficiencies (increase in the frequency of paired fragments, dicentrics, translocations, and the presence of a ring chromosome).Conclusions. Changes in the frequency and characteristics of the number of chromosomes in associations of acrocentric chromosomes, the frequency and spectrum of chromosomal aberrations, and the number of micronuclei indicated genotype instability, especially in iodine deficiency and combined microelement imbalance

    Improving the effectiveness of treatment in patients with the consequences of diaphyseal fractures of the tibia (improperly fused, unfused fractures, pseudoarthrosis, bone defects) is one of the urgent problems of traumatology, which has not only medical but also important social significance. The aim of the study is to publish clinical experience in the use of closed and semi-open blocking intramedullary metal-polymer osteosynthesis (BIMPO) in the treatment of 125 patients with consequences of diaphyseal long bones fractures. An analysis of the use of closed and semi-open blocking intramedullary metal-polymer osteosynthesis (BIMPO) in 125 patients with fracture consequences (non-fused fractures, pseudoarthrosis), who were operated with the use of 3 and 8 BIMPOF. Long-term results were observed in 103 (88.89%) patients. The consolidation of the fracture in the optimal time was noted in 98 (94.64%) patients. Within 44-90 days from the operation, resistance and limb function were restored. No case of osteomyelitis was observed.     НАУКОВИЙ ПІДХІД ДО КОМПЛЕКСНОЇ ОЦІНКИ ДЕТЕРМІНАНТІВ РОЗВИТКУ СТРАХОВОГО РИНКУ УКРАЇНИ

    Variability of economic and political conditions in Ukraine put forward new requirements for assessing the development of the insurance market, the state of which has a significant impact on the activities of economic relations and the state as a whole. Building an adequate model for assessing the insurance market and its practical use may affect the timely adoption of managerial decisions and the development of measures to improve the insurance market functioning. This is confirmed by a large number of scientific studies in the economic literature on the analytical component of the insurance market management, as well as the fact that a timely and objective comprehensive analysis is an integral part of the adoption of effective managerial decisions.In view of this, trends of the insurance market in Ukraine in difficult geopolitical and economic conditions, which are characterized by the influence of variables of the unstable economic environment, are outlined. Linear multifactorial models, which give an opportunity to assess the influence of factors on the dynamics of changes in the volume of insurance premiums and insurance payments in the market, are constructed. An estimation of the influence of each of the selected factors is carried out and based on the conducted factor analysis, a significant impact on their volume of indicators of the number of insurance companies, GDP per capita and exchange rate, is performed. Alongside with this, trend lines are constructed and forecast values of gross insurance premiums and payments are determined. Based on the conducted analysis, ways of activating the development of the market as an important subject of the country's financial and credit system are proposed.Another significant result of the research is the formation of an indicative model-scheme of the comprehensive assessment of the determinants of the insurance market development. The developed model contains a clear list and sequence of stages of the insurance market analysis and a specific methodology for assessing the impact of key factors, characteristic for changing conditions of management, on the efficiency of its functioning. Practical application allows to take into consideration the influence of individual determinants of the insurance market development on its condition, to increase the efficiency of managerial decisions in this area.Проанализированы тенденции развития страхового рынка в Украине в сложных геополитических и экономических условиях. Построено эконометрические модели, позволяющие оценить влияние факторов на динамику изменения объемов страховых премий и страховых выплат на рынке. Проведена оценка влияния каждого из выбранных факторов и на основе проведенного факторного анализа определено значительное влияние на их объем показателей количества страховых компаний, ВВП на душу населения и валютного курса. Наряду с этим построены линии тренда и определены прогнозные значения валовых страховых премий и выплат, сформирована ориентировочная модель-схема комплексной оценки детерминант развития страхового рынка. На основе проведенного анализа предложены пути активизации развития рынка как важного субъекта финансово-кредитной системы страны.Мінливість економічних та політичних умов господарювання в Україні висувають нові вимоги до оцінки розвитку страхового ринку, стан якого справляє значний вплив на діяльність суб’єктів економічних відносин та держави в цілому. Побудова адекватної моделі оцінки страхового ринку та практичне її використання може вплинути на своєчасне прийняття управлінських рішень та розробку заходів підвищення ефективності функціонування страхового ринку. Це підтверджує значна кількість наукових досліджень в економічній літературі щодо аналітичної складової управління страховим ринком, а також те, що своєчасний та об’єктивний комплексний аналіз – невід’ємна складова прийняття ефективних управлінських рішень.З огляду на це, в статті проаналізовано тенденції розвитку страхового ринку в Україні у складних геополітичних та економічних умовах, що характеризуються впливом змінних чинників нестабільного економічного середовища. Побудовано лінійні багатофакторні моделі, які дають можливість оцінити вплив факторів на динаміку зміни обсягів страхових премій та страхових виплат на ринку. Проведено  оцінку впливу кожного з обраних факторів та на основі проведеного факторного аналізу визначено значний вплив на їх обсяг показників кількості страхових компаній, ВВП на душу населення та валютного курсу. Поряд з цим побудовано лінії тренду та визначено прогнозні значення валових страхових премій та виплат. На основі проведеного аналізу запропоновано шляхи активізації розвитку ринку як важливого суб’єкта фінансово – кредитної системи країни.Ще одним значним результатом наукового дослідження стало формування орієнтовної моделі-схеми комплексної оцінки детермінантів розвитку страхового ринку. Розроблена модель містить чіткий перелік та послідовність етапів проведення аналізу ринку страхування та конкретну методику оцінки впливу ключових факторів, характерних для мінливих умов господарювання, на ефективність його функціонування. Практичне застосування дозволяє врахувати вплив окремих детермінантів розвитку страхового ринку на його стан, підвищити ефективність управлінських рішень в даній сфері
