Advanced deep flux weakening operation control strategies for IPMSM

    Get PDF
This paper proposes an advanced flux-weakening control method to enlarge the speed range of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). In the deep flux weakening (FW) region, the flux linkage decreases as the motor speed increases, increasing instability. Classic control methods will be unstable when operating in this area when changing load torque or reference speed is required. The paper proposes a hybrid control method to eliminate instability caused by voltage limit violation and improve the reference velocity-tracking efficiency when combining two classic control methods. Besides, the effective zone of IPMSM in the FW is analyzed and applied to enhance stability and efficiency following reference velocity. Simulation results demonstrate the strength and effectiveness of the proposed method

An insight into non-English major learners’ task engagement from a sociocultural perspective

    Get PDF
Under the lens of a sociocultural view, this qualitative study was conducted with 83 non-English major learners at a university in the Mekong Delta to examine English learners’ task engagement. Twelve of them were further invited to be interviewed. Data were collected from class observations, learning journals, semi-structured interviews and stimulated recall. The study showed that the same task was performed differently by learners, and that the way learners implemented a given task was shaped by the negotiation between their personal and contextual factors because of their sense of agency in the situated sociocultural learning context. The study has acquired an increased insight into learners’ task engagement regarding their agency in the teaching and learning context of Vietnam from a sociocultural view

Risk of Land Degradation: A Case Study of Phu Yen Province, Vietnam

The issue of the land degradation vulnerability index (LDVI) is multifaceted, encompassing climate, soil, vegetation, policy formulation, and human actions. In Vietnam, the convergence of climatic fluctuations and human impact results in phenomena, such as soil sealing, erosion, salinization, and landscape fragmentation. These phenomena are recognized as significant triggers of land degradation. This paper seeks to present a method for assessing a land's susceptibility to degradation by utilizing ten ecological 10 criteria: NDVI; slope; bulk density (cg/cm3); cation exchange capacity in the soil (CEC; mmol(c)/kg); Soil organic carbon stock (SOC; dg/kg), pH; Nitrogen (N; cg/kg); soil thickness (cm); soil surface temperature LST (0C); precipitation of the driest quarter (mm). The research results show that Song Hinh and Son Hoa communes are standing on the most land degradation vulnerability. Some criteria that are considered important in assessing land degradation by the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) technique are NDVI, followed by slope, nitrogen, bulk density, and soil thickness. The results of the study are consistent with records in localities that are often under pressure from drought. Extreme LDVI areas were larger identified on low mountains, slope terrain, and precipitation of driest quarter under 200mm, expanding on the agricultural areas with 40km2 total province agriculture area, followed by grassland (20.3 km2), natural forests (17.2 km2), plantation forests (8.2 km2), residences (8.2 km2), and bare land (8.15 km2). Poor land management practices, such as improper construction, inadequate water management, and lack of terracing, can contribute to soil erosion and land degradation. This LDVI assessment process can be applied to some tropical countries. The NDVI index combined with the slope, nitrogen, bulk density, and soil thickness can be exploratory indicators of land sensitivity to land degradation

We present the design and development of folded four-mirror resonators for diode end-pumped solid-state Cr:LiSAF lasers. The astigmatic effects due to the Brewster-cut laser crystal and two curved mirrors used at oblique incidence were taken into consideration. The obtained results showed the stability regions of resonator, the beam parameters in the resonator and within the laser crystal as well as other sensitive parameters and their variation ranges. Furthermore, the designed folded four-mirror resonators for diode end-pumped Cr:LiSAF laser were experimentally evaluated. The CW Cr:LiSAF laser characteristics in threshold, efficiency and beam quality as well as comparative studies are presented

Phytochemical investigation of the leaves and stems of Callistemon citrinus (Curtis) Skeels led to the isolation of 12 flavonoid and triterpenoid compounds,  including one new flavonoid, callistine A (1) and six known flavonoids 6,7- dimethyl-5,7-dihydroxy-4’-methoxy flavone (2), astragalin (3), quercetin (4), catechin (5), eucalyptin (6), and 8-demethyleucalyptin (7), along with 5 triterpenoids, 3-β-acetylmorolic acid (8), 3β-hydroxy-urs-11-en-13(28)-olide (9), betulinic acid (10), diospyrolide (11) and ursolic acid (12). Their chemical structures were determined from the spectroscopic evidences counting 1D- and 2D-NMR and HR-MS data. All the isolated compounds were examined for their anti-inflammatory activity against LPS-activated NO production in macrophage RAW264.7 cells. Among them, quercetin (4) and 3β-hydroxy-urs-11-en-13(28)-olide (9) showed potential inhibition activity in nitric oxide (NO)  production in RAW264.7 cells exposed to LPS

In the title compound, C7H8N4S2, the thio-phene ring shows rotational disorder over two orientations in a 0.6957 (15):0.3043 (15) ratio. The plane of the 1,2,4-triazole ring makes a dihedral angle of 75.02 (17)° with the major-disorder component of the thiophene ring. In the crystal, two types of inversion dimers, described by the graph-set motifs R22(8) and R22(10), are formed by N-H⋯S inter-actions. Chains of mol-ecules running in the [101] direction are linked by weaker N-H⋯N inter-actions. The thio-phene ring is involved in π-π and C-H⋯π inter-actions

In the search for bioactive constituents from Vietnamese plants,  the leaves and stems of Callistemon citrinus (Curtis) Skeels were selected for chemical investigation. Phytochemical analysis of plant led to the isolation of eight phenolic compounds including two flavonoids (eucalyptine (1) and 8-demethyleucalyptine (2)), two alcohols (blumenol A (3), n-tetratriacontanol (4)), three benzoic acid derivatives (acid gallic (5), methyl gallate (6) protocatechuic acid (7)), one sterol (b-sitosterol (8)), and along with one sesquiterpene (2,6,10-bisabolatriene (9)). The structures of the natural compounds were determined by spectroscopic evidences including 1D- and 2D-NMR and ESI-MS

Background: Despite medicinal advances, cancer is still a big problem requiring better diagnostic and treatment tools. Magnetic nanoparticle (MNP)-based nanosystems for multiple-purpose applications were developed for these unmet needs. Methods: This study fabricated novel trifunctional MNPs of Fe3O4@PLA-PEG for drug release, MRI and magnetic fluid hyperthermia. Result: The MNPs provided a significant loading of curcumin (∼11%) with controllable release ability, a high specific absorption rate of 82.2 W/g and significantly increased transverse relaxivity (r2 = 364.75 mM-1 s-1). The in vivo study confirmed that the MNPs enhanced MRI contrast in tumor observation and low-field magnetic fluid hyperthermia could effectively reduce the tumor size in mice bearing sarcoma 180. Conclusion: The nanocarrier has potential for drug release, cancer treatment monitoring and therapy. The authors are grateful for the financial support by AOARD under award FA2386-17-1-4042.
