Line shapes of dynamical correlation functions in Heisenberg chains
We calculate line shapes of correlation functions by use of complete
diagonalization data of finite chains and analytical implications from
conformal field theory, density of states, and Bethe ansatz. The numerical data
have different finite size accuracy in case of the imaginary and real parts in
the frequency and time representations of spin-correlation functions,
respectively. The low temperature, conformally invariant regime crosses over at
to a diffusive regime that in turn connects continuously to
the high temperature, interacting fermion regime. The first moment sum rule is

Colored Spin Systems, BKP Evolution and finite N_c effects
Even within the framework of the leading logarithmic approximation the
eigenvalues of the BKP kernel for states of more than three reggeized gluons
are unknown in general, contrary to the planar limit case where the problem
becomes integrable. We consider a 4-gluon kernel for a finite number of colors
and define some simple toy models for the configuration space dynamics, which
are directly solvable with group theoretical methods. Then we study the
dependence of the spectrum of these models with respect to the number of colors

Low temperature electronic properties of Sr_2RuO_4 I: Microscopic model and normal state properties
Starting from the quasi one-dimensional kinetic energy of the d_{yz} and
d_{zx} bands we derive a bosonized description of the correlated electron
system in Sr_2RuO_4. At intermediate coupling the magnetic correlations have a
quasi one-dimensional component along the diagonals of the basal plane of the
tetragonal unit cell that accounts for the observed neutron scattering results.
Together with two-dimensional correlations the model consistently accounts for
the normal phase specific heat, cyclotron mass enhancement, static
susceptibility, and Wilson ratio and implies an anomalous high temperature

Prompt K_short production in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=0.9 TeV
The production of K_short mesons in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy
of 0.9 TeV is studied with the LHCb detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The
luminosity of the analysed sample is determined using a novel technique,
involving measurements of the beam currents, sizes and positions, and is found
to be 6.8 +/- 1.0 microbarn^-1. The differential prompt K_short production
cross-section is measured as a function of the K_short transverse momentum and
rapidity in the region 0 < pT < 1.6 GeV/c and 2.5 < y < 4.0. The data are found
to be in reasonable agreement with previous measurements and generator

Methane emission measurements in urban areas in eastern Germany
We have investigated methane emissions from urban sources in the former East Germany using innovative measurement techniques including a mobile real-time methane instrument and tracer release experiments. Anthropogenic and biogenic sources were studied with the emphasis on methane emissions from gas system sources, including urban distribution facilities and a production plant. Methane fluxes from pressure regulating stations ranged from 0.006 to 24. l/min. Emissions from diffuse sources in urban areas were also measured with concentration maps and whole city flux experiments. The area fluxes of the two towns studied were 0.37 and 1.9 g/m2/s. The emissions from individual gas system stations and total town emissions of this study are comparable to results of similar sites examined in the United States
Long term spectroscopic (DOAS) measurement of ozone and related species at the Baltic coast station Arkona Final report
Boundary layer ozone concentrations have been recorded since 1956 by the German Weather Service, (MD / DWD) at Cape Arkona, Island of Ruegen, GDR / FRG. In April 1993, a Long Path Differential Optical Absorption Spectrometer (LP-DOAS) was set up near the DWD-site. Measurements of the concentrations of O_3, NO_2, NO_3 and SO_2 were carried out with a newly developed DOAS system. The system incorporates two coaxially arranged Newton-type telescopes, a flat field holographic grating spectrometer and a retro reflector array. Combining the meteorological data with ozone and other gas concentrations, sector-classified results are used to identify the constraints for future evaluations of regional long-term trends of ozone concentrations. A statistical analysis of different trace gases for the periods summer, autumn, winter and spring is prepared. The long term nitrate radicals data record is used to retrieve information on the production rate of nitrate radicals, its lifetime, and possible depletion mechanism. Measurement of sigma (pp -> bbX) at âs=7 TeV in the forward region
Decays of b hadrons into final states containing a D-0 meson and a muon are used to measure the bb; production cross-section in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC. In the pseudorapidity interval 2 < eta < 6 and integrated over all transverse momenta we find that the average cross-section to produce b-flavoured or b-flavoured hadrons is (75.3 +/- 5.4 +/- 13.0) mu b
