PESQUISA EM DANÇA: ENTRE A CIRCULARIDADE VICIADA E O MAPA DE NAVEGAÇÃO

A associação da dança com a pesquisa se popularizou ao mesmo tempo que o uso da expressão “dança como produção de conhecimento”. Este artigo parte da identificação do contexto produtor dessa situação e sugere a necessidade de recorrer à epistemologia para melhor entendê-lo. Reconhecendo a pouca familiaridade da dança com a produção bibliográfica sobre epistemologia, inicia aqui uma reflexão, reconhecendo caber à Universidade a responsabilidade de produzi-la e de compartilhá-la com os que se interessam em enfrentar os danos identificados na situação atual

Rethinking polarization: the body and the renaissance of politics

O uso frequente do conceito de polarização em contexto político pede atenção, sobretudo por dois equívocos: torna equivalente o que instala nos seus dois polos, e se assenta na transformação do divergente em inimigo a ser eliminado. O objetivo do texto é compreender os danos do uso inadequado deste conceito recorrendo ao que a natureza já nos ensina, com os polos magnéticos e geográficos, e agregando o que vem sucedendo com o corpo na sua relação com as telas. Autores como Pariser (2011), Ugresic (2011), Brugnago e Chaia (2014-2015) e Arantes (2014) fundamentam a argumentação aqui reunida na forma de revisão bibliográfica. A hipótese é a de que a fabricação do sujeito me, myself and I (KATZ, 2016, 2017) favorece a falta de rigor que vem caracterizando a comunicação, com consequências ameaçadoras à democracia.Llama la atención el uso frecuente del concepto de polarización en el contexto político, principalmente por dos equivocaciones: hace equivalente lo que instala en sus dos polos y se basa en la transformación del divergente en enemigo que debe ser eliminado. El objetivo de este texto es comprender el daño del uso inapropiado de este concepto, recurriendo a lo que ya nos enseña la naturaleza con los polos magnético y geográfico, y agregando lo que sucede al cuerpo en su relación con los lienzos. Para ello, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica basada en autores como Pariser (2011), Ugresic (2011), Brugnago y Chaia (2014-2015) y Arantes (2014). Se parte de la hipótesis de que la constitución del sujeto me, myself and I (KATZ, 2016, 2017) favorece la falta de rigor que ha caracterizado la comunicación, con consecuencias amenazadoras para la democracia.The recurring use of the term ‘polarization’ in political contexts demands caution, mainly by two misconceptions: it equates the arguments in its two poles, and it is based on transforming the divergent into an enemy to be eliminated. This paper seeks to understand the damages caused by such misuse, drawing on knowledge about magnetic and geographic poles, and adding the transformations undergone by the body in its relationship with the screens. Authors such as Pariser (2011), Ugresic (2011), Brugnago and Chaia (2014-2015) and Arantes (2014) support the arguments gathered by bibliographic review. COMUNICAÇÃO ENTRE DANÇA E PÚBLICO: O PAPEL DO COREÓGRAFO NA CONSTRUÇÃO DA RELAÇÃO OBRA-ESPECTADOR

Todo espetáculo comunica algo. Nem sempre está na forma de uma mensagem clara, mas há sempre algo sendo comunicado ao público. Seja verbal ou não verbal, essa comunicação se inicia antes mesmo do espectador chegar ao teatro, pois, ao sentar-se na plateia, já conhece o nome do espetáculo, possivelmente já leu o texto do programa, viu alguma foto e/ou ouviu algum comentário sobre o que vai assistir. Durante o espetáculo, a comunicação continua por elementos que constroem a cena: movimentação cênica, imagens coreográficas criadas, gestos, posturas, maquiagem, adereços cênicos, iluminação, música, entre outras formas de comunicação. E o diálogo continua após a apresentação, pois é inevitável a conversa e os comentários que se sucedem a partir do que foi assistido. No encontro do espectador com a obra, um fluxo de informações se estabelece, e esse fluxo é aqui tratado na perspectiva da comunicação, à luz da Teoria Corpomídia (KATZ e GREINER), a qual sustenta que está sempre ocorrendo uma contínua contaminação entre corpo e ambiente. O problema que motiva esta pesquisa pode ser sintetizado em algumas perguntas que se repetem, cada vez com mais frequência: Como uma obra se faz entender? De que forma comunica? Qual é a natureza da comunicação que a linguagem corporal, que se utiliza de movimentos, tem capacidade de promover? É possível escapar da tirania do entendimento de que toda e qualquer comunicação precisa produzir significado no modelo da linguagem verbal

Results of the enhanced COVID-19 surveillance during UEFA EURO 2020 in Germany

In general, mass gatherings might pose a risk to the public health (PH). The UEFA EURO 2020 tournament (EURO 2020) was one of the first mass gathering events since the start of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in Germany. To allow early detection and response to any EURO 2020-associated impact on the COVID-19-related epidemiological situation, we initiated enhanced surveillance activities using the routine surveillance system in collaboration with the regional PH authority of Bavaria. Several preventive measures regarding the attendance of football matches and public viewing were implemented according to state regulations. We describe the results from the enhanced surveillance during the EURO 2020. In total, five cases who had attended a football match in the stadium of Munich, nine cases, who attended a football match in a stadium outside of Germany, and 123 cases in association with public viewing events were identified by enhanced surveillance. Concluding, the EURO 2020 seems to not have had a major impact on the COVID-19 pandemic development in Germany. Health measures for stadium visitors and the restriction of large public viewing events may have potentially contributed to the low case numbers detected, emphasising the need of appropriate PH surveillance and regulations to limit the potential risk to PH during mass gathering events.Peer Reviewe

Antibiotic mediated synthesis of gold nanoparticles with potent antimicrobial activity and their application in antimicrobial coatings

We report a one-pot synthesis of spherical gold nanoparticles (52-22 nm) and their capping with cefaclor, a second-generation antibiotic, without use of other chemicals. The differently sized gold nanoparticles were fabricated by controlling the rate of reduction of gold ions in aqueous solution by varying the reaction temperature (20-70 C). The primary amine group of cefaclor acted as both the reducing and capping agent for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles leaving the b-lactam ring of cefaclor available for activity against microbes. Antimicrobial testing showed that cefaclor reduced gold nanoparticles have potent antimicrobial activity against both Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) bacteria as compared to cefaclor or gold nanoparticles alone. The minimum inhibition concentrations (MICs) of cefaclor reduced gold nanoparticles were 10m gmL1 and 100m gmL1 for S. aureus and E. coli respectively. The cefaclor reduced gold nanoparticles were further coated onto poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI) modified glass surfaces to obtain antimicrobial coatings suitable for biomedical applications and were tested against E. coli as an exemplar of activity. The antimicrobial coatings were very robust under adverse conditions (pH 3 and 10), inhibited the growth of E. coli on their surfaces, and could be used many times with retained activity. Results from a combined spectroscopic (FTIR) and microscopic study (AFM) suggest that the action of these novel particles is through the combined action of cefaclor inhibiting the synthesis of the peptidoglycan layer and gold nanoparticles generating "holes" in bacterial cell walls thereby increasing the permeability of the cell wall, resulting in the leakage of cell contents and eventually cell death
