The disease has no common features unlike chronic kidney diseases (CKD’s) making early detection impossible in the patients. The most recent form of CKDu was reported in India, known as the Indian CKDu in late 2010’s. In Sri Lanka, CKDu is highly prevalent in the north central province of the country with nearly15.1%-22.9% presented with the disease. This region is a dry-zone in which agricultural and farming activities are carried out as the main occupation. Several studies have been carried out linking CKDu to various factors such as heavy metals in water, agrochemicals, heat, dehydration and socio-demographics in NCP. Despite several researches being conducted none of them were able to prove the root cause and causative factors of the disease. Using the available articles online, studies from countries such as India, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka and South America were chosen in which heat stress, dehydration, heavy metal involvement, agrochemicals were common causative factors reported in these geographical locations. Several studies analyzed indicate that the affected CKDu population were part of the agricultural community in rural areas with less or no proper high school education and family history with CKDu. Recent findings do suggest that a combination study involving socio-demographical data and geographical data will help to end the CKDu debate worldwide and provide new insights into early diagnosis

The stable set of associated prime ideals of a squarefree principal Borel ideal

It is shown that a squarefree principal Borel ideal satisfies the persistence property for the associated prime ideals. For the graded maximal ideal we compute the index of stability with respect to squarefree principal Borel ideals and determine their stable set of associated prime ideals

Semileptonic B to Scalar meson Decays in the Standard Model with Fourth Generation

We study the effects of the fourth generation of quarks on the total branching ratio and the lepton polarizations in Bˉ0→K0∗(1430)l+l−\bar{B}_{0}\rightarrow K_{0}^{\ast}(1430)l^{+}l^{-}(ll = μ\mu , τ\tau ) decay. Taking fourth generation quark mass mt′m_{t{\prime}} of about 400400 to 600600 GeV with the mixing angle ∣Vt′b∗Vt′s∣|V_{t^{\prime}b}^{\ast}V_{t^{\prime}s}| in the range (0.05−1.4)×10−2(0.05-1.4)\times 10^{-2} and using the phase to be 80o80^{o}%, it is found that the branching ratio and lepton polarizations are quite sensitive to these fourth generation parameters. In future the experimental study of this decay will give us an opportunity to study new physics effects, precisely, to search for the fourth generation of quarks % (t^{\prime},b^{\prime}) in an indirect way.Comment: 15 pages, 7 figures; Modification in the text and figures, version is closed to the one accepted for publication in Phys. Sri Lanka ranks eighty-nine (89) in the world rankings for liver disease causing 3349 deaths according to the data published by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the 2014 calendar year and an average of 15.28 deaths per hundred thousand. The two most common forms of this disease is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic fatty liver disease. The data collected by the WHO is analyzed and the different causes for the liver disease is identified between the period of 1980-2010, using the different factors responsible for the cause of the disease data is distinguished. Of the data collected and analyzed most causes of liver disease in Sri Lanka is due to the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or alcoholic fatty liver disease which leads to severe complications such as renal failure, liver cirrhosis and eventually deat

Deploying Virtual Machines on Shared Platforms

In this report, we describe mechanisms for secure deployment of virtual machines on shared platforms looking into a telecommunication cloud use case, which is also presented in this report. The architecture we present focuses on the security requirements of the major stakeholders’ part of the scenario we present. This report comprehensively covers all major security aspects including different security mechanisms and protocols, leveraging existing standards and state-of-the art wherever applicable. In particular, our architecture uses TCG technologies for trust establishment in the deployment of operator virtual machines on shared resource platforms. We also propose a novel procedure for securely launching and cryptographically binding a virtual machine to a target platform thereby protecting the operator virtual machine and its related credentials
