Change and development in the Spanish wine industry, 1950-2009

In recent years the European winegrowing regions have been carrying out deep changes in response to increasing international competition, outstanding the case of Spain. This study analyses the main sequences of changes the Spanish wine industry has undergone: the evolution of consumption; the role of exports; the spread of marketing and business organization; the factors that have been involved in the modernization of the wineries. An initial valuation leads us to conclude that it has been an authentic wine revolution in reference to the transformations that have occurred in a period of farming changes and technological modernization for the businessesWine industry revolution, technological modernization, enological change, Spain, twentieth century.

The kafkaesque as a ruptura, the kafkaesque as possibility: Laughter and morality in the contemporary novel

In 1902, Hugo von Hofmannsthal wrote Chandos Letter, a text that tries to show a problem that ended up being called the crisis of fin-de-siècle. This is exemplified in the renunciation of the classicist tradition that had been dominating much of the knowledge until then. In this context, the only solution was to find new languages capable to explore the limits of each of the affected disciplines. In the case of literature, one of the authors who overcame these limits was Franz Kafka, whose narrative is dominated by an irony with which he managed to say what seemed unspeakable. This article will explain the use of this irony as an essential element in the configuration of the contemporary novel, while at the same time it will serve as a basis to argue in favor of an aesthetic autonomism when explaining the moral reactions to fictionEn el año 1902, Hugo von Hofmannsthal pone de manifiesto, en su Carta de Lord Chandos, toda una problemática que acabó denominándose crisis de fin-de-siècle, y que se ejemplifica en la renuncia a los grandes relatos y a la tradición clasicista que había dominado gran parte del conocimiento hasta la fecha. En ese contexto, la única solución pasa por encontrar nuevos lenguajes capaces de explorar los límites de cada una de las disciplinas afectadas. En el caso de la literatura, uno de los autores que se sobrepuso a esos límites fue Franz Kafka, cuya narrativa está dominada por una ironía con la que supo llegar a decir lo que parecía indecible. Este artículo explicará el uso de la ironía kafkiana como elemento esencial en la configuración de la novela contemporánea, al tiempo que servirá de base para argumentar a favor de un autonomismo estético a la hora de explicar las reacciones morales ante la ficció

El juguete didáctico: Una herramienta para su evaluación

"EL JUGUETE DIDÁCTICO: UNA HERRAMIENTA PARA SU EVALUACIÓN" es el título de mi tesis doctoral presentada en la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Murcia. Es el fruto de una laboriosa investigación realizada en el ámbito de la psicopedagogía, dirigida por el Dr. Francisco Martínez Sánchez, que desembocó en la realización de un protocolo de evaluación para analizar aquellas características del juguete que lo hacen útil en situaciones de aprendizaje. El protocolo consta de 31 items - evaluación sencilla - y de unas escalas complementarias que facilitan una evaluación más compleja."The didactic toy: a tool for its assessment" is the title of my doctoral thesis submitted to the Faculty of Education of Murcia University. It is the result of a laborious research carried out in the field of the psycopedagogy, supervised by Doctor Francisco Martínez Sánchez. It culminated in the execution of an assessment questionarire to analyse those characteristics of the toy which make it useful in learning situations. The questionaire consists of 31 items - simple assessment - and of some complementary scales whicch facilitates a more complex assessment

Transparency and government trust

Trust is essential for democracies, for it enhances the legitimacy of governments by linking citizens, their institutions and politicians (Godefroidt, Langer and Meuleman, 2017). Besides, trust is considered a solution to many current social problems, including the lack of confidence stemming from the crisis in democratic governance (Choi and Woo, 2016). An appropriate level of confidence in institutions is essential for democratic governance (Yang and Holzer, 2006). In addition, public trust in the government is not only important for citizens, but also for public officials, since it is essential that they receive the necessary support for implementation of public policies (Gordon, 2000)

Use of the environment as a way for learning: planning, organization and development of the school trips on the pre-school education

Resumen basado en el de la publicaciónTítulo, resumen y palabras clave también en inglésSe pretende ofrecer, a partir de la realidad educativa de un centro escolar público de nivel socioeconómico y cultural medio-bajo, un marco teórico-práctico que señale el valor de las salidas escolares como estrategias óptimas para utilizar el entorno natural, social y cultural como recurso. Dicho entorno recibe una especial atención desde el marco legislativo de la etapa de Educación Infantil por contribuir a la formación integral del alumnado. Por ello, es importante planificar las salidas, organizarlas y desarrollarlas teniendo en cuenta el contexto del centro y las posibilidades que éste ofrece. Así pues, a partir de los documentos institucionales del centro y las experiencias durante las prácticas escolares, se presenta una fundamentación teórica que incluye diferentes aspectos de las salidas escolares según el contexto socioeconómico y cultural del centro y la didáctica propia de una escuela del siglo XXI, y está complementada por unos ejemplos prácticos que pretendan mejorar el uso de estas estrategias y con ellas el aprendizaje del alumno y la calidad educativa. Para acabar, se extraen una serie de conclusiones que proponen mejoras en este ámbito, reflexionando a su vez sobre las salidas escolares como instrumento de compensación educativa.ES

Synthetic and Mechanistic Studies on the Solvent-Dependent Copper-Catalyzed Formation of Indolizines and Chalcones

Copper nanoparticles supported on activated carbon have been found to catalyze the multicomponent synthesis of indolizines from pyridine-2-carbaldehyde derivatives, secondary amines, and terminal alkynes in dichloromethane; in the absence of solvent, however, heterocyclic chalcones are formed. We provide compelling evidence that both processes take place through aldehyde–amine–alkyne coupling intermediates. In contrast to other well-known mechanisms for chalcone formation from aldehydes and alkynes, a new reaction pathway involving propargyl amines as intermediates that do not undergo rearrangement is presented. The formation of indolizines or chalcones is driven by inductive and solvent effects, with a wide array of both being reported. In both reactions, the nanoparticulate catalyst has been shown to be superior to some commercially available copper catalysts, and it could be recycled in the case of the chalcone synthesis.This work was generously supported by the Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO; CTQ2011-24151).
