A New Wireless Biosensor for Intra-Vaginal Temperature Monitoring
Wireless Body Sensors for medical purposes offer valuable contributions to improve patients’ healthcare, including diagnosis and/or therapeutics monitoring. Body temperature is a crucial parameter in healthcare diagnosis. In gynecology and obstetrics it is measured at the skin’s surface, which is very influenced by the environment. This paper proposes a new intra-body sensor for long-term intra-vaginal temperature collection. The embedded IEEE 802.15.4 communication module allows the integration of this sensor in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for remote data access and monitoring. We present the sensor architecture, the construction of the corresponding testbed, and its performance evaluation. This sensor may be used in different medical applications, including preterm labor prevention and fertility and ovulation period detection. The features of the constructed testbed were validated in laboratory tests verifying its accuracy and performance
Mineral stress affects the cell wall composition of grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) callus

Deficit in nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur nutrition impairs essential metabolic pathways. The
influence of mineral stress in the composition of the plant cell wall (CW) has received residual
attention. Using grapevine callus as a model system, 6-weeks deficiency of those elements caused a
significant decrease in growth. Callus CWs were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy
(FT-IR), by quantification of CW components and by immunolocalization of CW epitopes with
monoclonal antibodies. PCA analysis of FT-IR data suggested changes in the main components of the
CW in response to individual mineral stress. Decreased cellulose, modifications in pectin methyl
esterification and increase of structural proteins were among the events disclosed by FT-IR analysis.
Chemical analyses supported some of the assumptions and further disclosed an increase in lignin
content under nitrogen deficiency, suggesting a compensation of cellulose by lignin. Moreover,
polysaccharides of callus under mineral deficiency showed to be more tightly bonded to the CW,
probably due to a more extensive cross-linking of the cellulose-hemicellulose network. Our work
showed that mineral stress impacts the CW at different extents according to the withdrawn mineral
element, and that the modifications in a given CW component are compensated by the synthesis and/or
alternative linking between polymers. The overall results here described for the first time pinpoint the
CW of Vitis callus different strategies to overcome mineral stress, depending on how essential they are
to cell growth and plant development
Glauber dynamics in the continuum via generating functionals evolution
We construct the time evolution for states of Glauber dynamics for a spatial
infinite particle system in terms of generating functionals. This is carried
out by an Ovsjannikov-type result in a scale of Banach spaces, leading to a
local (in time) solution which, under certain initial conditions, might be
extended to a global one. An application of this approach to Vlasov-type
scaling in terms of generating functionals is considered as well.Comment: 24 page

Нейросекреторная активность супраоптического ядра переднего гипоталамуса кроликов под действием транскутанной электростимуляции зрительного анализатора
На 8 кролях породи Метелик вивчали вплив непрямої черезшкірної електростимуляції зорового аналізатора на нейросекреторну активність магноцелюлярних клітин супраоптичного ядра переднього гіпоталамусу. На мікропрепаратах інтактних тварин переважали нейрони II морфофункціонального типу, що перебувають у стадії синтезу нейросекрету. Показано, що за дії электростимуляції спостерігається перерозподіл головних морфо-функціональних типів нейронів. Відзначено збільшення змісту клітин I й III типів, відповідно у стадіях спокою після виведення секрету й накопичення, що вказує на активацію процесів звільнення нейросекрету і його акумуляції. Виразність реакції нервової тканини однакова при силі стимулюючого струму 100 мкА й 300 мкА.The influence of indirect through-skin electrostimulation (different doses) of the optical analyser on neurosecretory activity of anterior hypothalamus magnocellular nucleus was stading during chronic experiment. The stady was carried out on rabbits. Five morphological types of neurons was exposed in the supraoptical nucleus of control animal groop: I type- phase of rest after neurosecrets leading, II- phase of synthesis, III- phase of accumulation, IV - leading phase, V - phase of degerneration, but neurons of II types was prevalenced (51%).
The indirect electrostimulation of the optical analyser provokes quantitative changes of keeping same neurons types. The number of I and III types neurons increases (on 20% and 7%) . The kind of changes is indicative of electrostimulation activation influense on neurosecrets leading and accumulation. Expression of nervous tissue reaction was identical under different doses (100 mkA and 300 mkA) of afferent electrostimulation
Group-IV graphene- and graphane-like nanosheets
We performed a first principles investigation on the structural and
electronic properties of group-IV (C, SiC, Si, Ge, and Sn) graphene-like sheets
in flat and buckled configurations and the respective hydrogenated or
fluorinated graphane-like ones. The analysis on the energetics, associated with
the formation of those structures, showed that fluorinated graphane-like sheets
are very stable, and should be easily synthesized in laboratory. We also
studied the changes on the properties of the graphene-like sheets, as result of
hydrogenation or fluorination. The interatomic distances in those graphane-like
sheets are consistent with the respective crystalline ones, a property that may
facilitate integration of those sheets within three-dimensional nanodevices
