The effect of herding in financial markets

Curs: 2015/2016In this research we present a stylized financial agent-based model with heterogeneous noise traders that imitate each other on a dynamic network structure. Following Tedeschi et al. (2009, 2012), we show how an expectation feedback system can reproduce synchronization effects generating large fluctuations in returns. Moreover, we assess how ‘herding’ can give rise to some stylized facts such as volatility clustering and fat tailed distributions in some investigated variables such as indegree or returns, (see Cont, 2001). We demonstrate how the transition from periods of network centralization, corresponding to high synchronization in agents’ expectations, to periods of decentralization, when traders play randomly, is the key ingredient to reproduce these statistical properties above-mentioned. The model is an evolution of Tedeschi’s (2009), since we introduce and endogenous evolution mechanism of the intensity of choice, β. The job and the rules that regulate it have been changed through the history being due adapt to the development needs of society. Thus, we found the arise of the laboral regulation was marked by safeguard of the worker´s dignity, materialized by the working conditions and the social security. Nowadays there exist new forms of jobs like: telework, the outsourcing, temporary work, etc., that while are necessaries for the economic development of society, they are not been protecting the conditions under which perform the job, neither the worker ´s dignity. Methodology for Improving Scanning Performance Loading an Array Element with a 3D All-Metal WAIM

All-metal 3D printing technologies are allowing the conception of new structures for different applications. This publication explores the potential of employing for the first time an all-metal 3D unit-cell topology to perform wide-angle impedance matching layers. A new equivalent circuit is derived for the oblique incidence, providing a good estimation of the cell response for the scanning range (theta = [0 degrees, 55 degrees]) in the main scanning planes for a linearly polarized radiated field. This analytical model is later used to develop a wide-angle impedance matching design methodology for a generic antenna. This methodology is tested in practice to match a phased array made of metallic horns at 18 GHz. Evaluación hidrológica e hidráulica de la quebrada La Chorrera para la verificación de los niveles máximos y mínimos en la captación del centro poblado La Magdalena municipio Quebradanegra-Cundinamarca

Saneamiento de comunidadesPropuesta teórica para la captación de agua cruda en el municipio de Quebradanegra centro poblado la Magdalena, Departamento de Cundinamarca, que se adapte mejor a la zona (tipo y ubicación), basados en una evaluación hidrológica que nos permitió la determinación de los parámetros principales de la cuenca, los niveles mínimos de la lámina de agua en el cauce de la quebrada la Chorrera, así como la evaluación hidráulica, para verificar la altura máxima de la lámina de agua en el cauce mencionado, por medio de una topografía base de un proyecto en el centro poblado, con el fin de proponer el mejor tipo de captación. A partir de los análisis realizados se determinó que la mejor estructura de captación será una bocatoma lateral con dique de derivación, en una ubicación aproximada de 50 metros aguas arriba de la actual bocatoma.1. Estudio del análisis de respuesta en frecuencia como herramienta de diagnóstico y evaluación de desplazamientos y deformaciones internas en transformadores de potencia

En el presente documento se muestra el estudio del método conocido con el nombre de Análisis del Barrido de la Respuesta en Frecuencia, como herramienta de diagnóstico y evaluación de desplazamientos y deformaciones internas en transformadores de potencia; para dar comienzo al documento se presenta una breve introducción mediante la cual el lector podrá darse una explicación o idea general acerca del método y contenido del texto. Seguidamente se exponen las razones por las cuales se presenta la motivación para dar inicio a al estudio aquí mostrado, posteriormente, con el único fin de agregar claridad al trabajo expuesto y organizar las ideas generales que se puedan tener del mismo, llegaremos a los antecedentes y estado del arte del Análisis del Barrido de la Respuesta en Frecuencia. Proporcionando un esquema básico, se ofrece de forma general el fundamento físico de los transformadores eléctricos mediante temas como: especificaciones técnicas, diseños, fabricación, ensayos y pruebas, “comisionamiento” o puesta en servicio de los equipos objeto del presente estudio. De igual modo y debido al uso, abuso o a razón de contingencias presentadas en el sistema eléctrico también, los transformadores ocasionalmente deben ser intervenidos para realizar algún tipo de mantenimiento, para esto, el actual documento se pueden encontrar temas como: reparación, reconstrucción, mantenimiento, análisis de fallas detectadas, herramientas de diagnóstico para la evaluación de la calidad del sistema de aislamientos (papel/aceite), accesorios y demás elementos presentes en el transformador, con el fin de brindar al lector instrumentos útiles y precisos no solo para captar su atención en este documento, sino también para impulsarlo a lograr en la practica el mejor desempeño, y reducir la posibilidad de parada abrupta de los transformadores. Finalmente, se expone y se describe el funcionamiento del método Análisis del Barrido de la Respuesta en Frecuencia, su importancia, características, forma de evaluación, interpretación, fallas detectadas mediante el método, análisis y conclusiones con respecto a las graficas mostradas donde se describen los cambios ocurridos al interior del transformador ante distintos tipos de falla o alteración ocurrida de acuerdo a la información obtenida después del estudio bibliográfico y la aplicación real llevada a cabo sobre transformadores de potencia en la planta de fabricación de transformadores Magnetrón S.A., ubicada en el municipio de Pereira.A study using the Sweep Frequency Response Analysis Method (SFRA) for power transformer diagnostics is presented. This paper shows the study of the method known as Sweep Frequency Response Analysis Method as a tool for diagnosis and evaluation of internal displacements and deformations in power transformers, first, the paper provides a brief introduction in which the reader can get an explanation or general idea about the method and content of the text. Then sets out the reasons or motivation of why is presented the study shown here, for the sole purpose of adding clarity to the work exhibited and organize the general ideas that can be the same, we arrive at the background and state of the art of Sweep Frequency Response Analysis. Providing a basic framework, provides an overview of the physical basis of electrical transformers by topics such as technical specifications, design, manufacture, testing and testing, "commissioning" or putting into service of equipment covered by this study. In the same way and due to the use, abuse or because of contingencies presented in the electrical system also occasionally transformers must be operated to perform any maintenance to this, the present document may be found topics such as repair, reconstruction, maintenance, analysis of faults detected, diagnostic tools for assessing the quality of the insulation (paper / oil), accessories and other elements present in the transformer, to provide the reader with useful and necessary not only to capture their attention in this document, but also to promote it in practice to achieve the best performance, and reduce the possibility of abrupt stop of the transformers. Electrochemical treatment of aluminium alloy 7075 in aqueous solutions of imidazolium phosphonate and phosphate ionic liquids and scratch resistance of the resultant materials

The abilitiy of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethylphosphonate ([ImPhosphonate]) and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium diethylphosphate ([ImPhosphate]) ionic liquids (ILs) to interact with anodized Al7075 T6 aluminium alloy has been studied via electrochemical techniques under different applied potentials, inside and outside the passivation regions. SEM, EDX and XPS analysis have been used to study the composition of the surface coatings. The abrasion resistance after treatment with the ILs has been studied by scratch tests under progressive load, and compared with the performance of the unprotected material and the anodized alloy. While conventional anodization only improves the abrasion resistance of Al7075 in a 30%, the maximum reduction of the penetration depth, 86% with respect to Al7075 and 79% with respect to the anodized alloy, is obtained for the material treated with [ImPhosphonate] at 1 V, in the passivation region. Under these conditions, a phosphorus-containing alumina layer is formed. Debido a las dificuldades del aprendizaje inicial de las asignaturas de algoritmos en las carreras de Informática, se trabaja en el desarrollo de una aplicación Web que guíe y mejore el aprendizaje y la resolución de problemas mediante esquemas algorítmicos. La idea es dar soporte a un ambiente de desarrollo común para alumnos y profesores, en el que se seguirá una estructura definida previamente en la utilización de los esquemas algorítmicos. El alumno deberá utilizar en el desarrollo de las prácticas los esquemas proporcionados, completando los huecos correspondientes a las funciones que aparecen en ellos, con lo que se pretende corregir la tendencia en una aproximación inicial a los algoritmos de alejarse de los esquemas, lo que produce un gasto de tiempo importante hasta que se comprende la importancia de los esquemas algorítmicos básicos.Peer Reviewe
