Reverse Logistics: Overview and Challenges for Supply Chain Management
1-7This paper is aimed at introducing the concept
of reverse logistics (RL) and its implications for supply
chain management (SCM). RL is a research area focused
on the management of the recovery of products once they
are no longer desired (end-of-use products, EoU) or can
no longer be used (end-of-life products) by the consumers,
in order to obtain an economic value from the recovered
products. This way, RL has become a matter of strategic
importance, an element that companies are considering in
their decision-making processes related to the design and
development of their supply chains. In addition, a
description of the implications of RL for SCM will be
discussed and, finally, an analysis of some of the
opportunities and challenges that RL implies for SCM
will be presented.S
An approximation to the Remanufactured Electrical and Electronic Equipment Consumer
Remanufacturing of electrical and electronic products can be considered as an excellent business opportunity from an economic point of view. The success factor in these remanufacturing activities is the recovery process of the economic value of the end-of-use products in order to achieve energy savings, lower manufacturing costs and less dependency on raw materials. This way, our research aims to study the demand of Remanufactured Electrical and Electronic Equipment (REEE). In particular, the consumer profile of this kind of products is analyzed in this paper, in order to describe what variables can determine his/her purchasing intention. This is a work in progress so the results of this paper provide a very first approach to the profile of the REEE consumer by using a descriptive analysis of the main variables, which can become an important support for future research

Online teaching in COVID-19 times. Student satisfaction and analysis of their academic performance
[EN] Online teaching has grown exponentially as a result of COVID-19. Universities and teaching institutions the world over have had to adapt their curricula to this new teaching and learning model. The main goal of this study is to analyse various teaching methodologies used on a sample of university students to analyse their effectiveness in terms of satisfaction, competencies and academic performance. The results suggest that methodologies that include greater student-teacher interaction or the use of videoconferencing for classes and problem-solving help to raise student satisfaction. Students also positively assess online teaching as it allows them to acquire new competencies and even to identify business opportunities. The online evaluation method used also seems to have been appropriate, as it led students to obtain better grades than in face-to-face teaching contexts. Desarrollo de competencias socialmente responsables en los alumnos de bachillerato de excelencia mediante metodología de cascada
El principal objetivo de la iniciativa es ofrecer un modelo educativo integrador que fomente la generación de ideas socialmente innovadoras y responsables. Al mismo tiempo, se busca trabajar las competencias generales para favorecer la interacción e integración de los estudiantes. Para ello, se ha utilizado la metodología de cascada. Concretamente, el instrumento utilizado es el poster. Los participantes de la iniciativa son 20 estudiantes de Bachillerato de la Excelencia y 4 del Grado en Administración y Dirección de Empresas de la Universidad de León. Los resultados alcanzados han sido cuatro ideas de negocio centradas en resolver problemas medioambientales a través de nuevas prácticas de gestión empresarial, y dos ideas socialmente innovadoras para mejorar la atención, cuidado y la satisfacción de personas discapacitadas. Así, la iniciativa desarrollada ha permitido mejorar competencias académico-generales de los estudiantes, y al mismo tiempo les ha proporcionado una visión más cercana de la realidad empresarial y social

Taking Advantage of Students’ Passion for Apps in Sustainability and CSR Teaching
779The main aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of using mobile apps combined
with traditional methods for teaching sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) to
undergraduate students. Although previous papers stated the importance of apps, they showed no
conclusive results, and there are few studies analyzing their importance in management training,
and particularly in sustainability management. To achieve our main goal, drawing upon the action
learning system, we designed and implemented several training sessions combining traditional
methods and apps. The effectiveness of teaching methods was assessed with two surveys (pre- and
post-training) with questions about sustainable consumption, lifestyle, and CSR management. The
results demonstrate that students found this type of learning beneficial, showing an increase in their
commitment to social and environmental issues. These findings underline the potential for apps in
teaching sustainability at undergraduate levels in combination with more traditional methods.S
Análise Crítica do Manual de Alocação de Compensação por Perda de Biodiversidade

The purpose of this article is to critically analyze the Manual for the Allocation of Compensation for Biodiversity Loss. It was found that the Manual is an instrumental bid for the commodification of nature.
It assigns greater priority to particular interests than to the protection of the environment in general. The Manual is designed to compensate for biodiversity losses, but does not prioritize conservation. The processes of ecosystem deterioration and fragmentation, and the consequent loss of biodiversity, have been little analyzed in Colombia and, in particular, in the Andean region.Propósito de este artículo es analizar críticamente el Manual para la Asignación de Compensaciones por Pérdida de Biodiversidad. Se encontró que el Manual es una apuesta instrumental por la mercantilización de la naturaleza. Este asigna mayor prioridad a intereses particulares que a la protección del medio ambiente en general. El Manual está concebido para compensar las pérdidas de biodiversidad, pero no prioriza la conservación. Los procesos de deterioro y fragmentación de los ecosistemas, y la consecuente pérdida de biodiversidad, han sido poco analizados en Colombia y, en particular, en la región andina.O objetivo deste artigo é analisar criticamente o Manual de Alocação de Indenização por Perda da Biodiversidade. Expectativas laborales, familiares y apoyo familiar percibido en estudiantes millennials de enfermería de una universidad pública de Talca
66 p.La presente investigación tiene por objetivo describir la relación entre las variables
apoyo familiar percibido, expectativas laborales y familiares de una muestra de
273 estudiantes millennials de enfermería de una universidad pública de Talca. La
“Generación Y” o “Millennials”, comprende los años 1983 y 1999. Las principales
características de este segmento son la marcada tendencia al cumplimiento de
proyectos personales, lo que conlleva cambios en las prioridades impactando la
vida laboral y familiar de los mismos. Para esto, se trabaja en una investigación de
tipo no experimental, transversal, aplicando los siguientes instrumentos: Inventario
de Percepción de Apoyo Familiar (Baptista, 2007), escala de planificación vida
laboral/vida familia (Hernández, 2008) y escala de estilos de vida, (Gilbert, Dancer,
Rossman & Thorn, 1991; Hernández, 2008). Para dar cuenta de los resultados, se
realizan análisis descriptivos y de frecuencia tanto para las variables
sociodemográficas como para los instrumentos aplicados y una correlación de
Pearson para determinar la relación entre las expectativas laborales y el apoyo
familiar percibido por los participantes. Se observa que las proyecciones laborales
y familiares de los jóvenes de la muestra coinciden con los de la generación
millennials, existiendo además relación positiva entre las expectativas laborales de
los jóvenes y su percepción de apoyo familiar. De esta forma, se concluye que las
características definitorias de los millennials están reflejadas en los estudiantes de enfermería, lo que, al eclipsar con el mundo actual, trae impactos a nivel social, laboral y familiar
Six Collective Challenges for Sustainability of Almería Greenhouse Horticulture
Globally, current food consumption and trade are placing unprecedented demand on agricultural systems and increasing pressure on natural resources, requiring tradeoffs between food security and environmental impacts especially given the tension between market-driven agriculture and agro-ecological goals. In order to illustrate the wicked social, economic and environmental challenges and processes to find transformative solutions, we focus on the largest concentration of greenhouses in the world located in the semi-arid coastal plain of South-east Spain. Almería family farming, predominantly cooperative, greenhouse intensive production, commenced after the 1960s and has resulted in very significant social and economic benefits for the region, while also having important negative environmental and biodiversity impacts, as well as creating new social challenges. The system currently finds itself in a crisis of diminishing economic benefits and increasing environmental and social dilemmas. Here, we present the outcomes of multi-actor, transdisciplinary research to review and provide collective insights for solutions-oriented research on the sustainability of Almeria’s agricultural sector. The multi-actor, transdisciplinary process implemented collectively, and supported by scientific literature, identified six fundamental challenges to transitioning to an agricultural model that aims to ameliorate risks and avoid a systemic collapse, whilst balancing a concern for profitability with sustainability: (1) Governance based on a culture of shared responsibility for sustainability, (2) Sustainable and efficient use of water, (3) Biodiversity conservation, (4) Implementing a circular economy plan, (5) Technology and knowledge transfer, and (6) Image and identity. We conclude that the multi-actor transdisciplinary approach successfully facilitated the creation of a culture of shared responsibility among public, private, academic, and civil society actors. Notwithstanding plural values, challenges and solutions identified by consensus point to a nascent acknowledgement of the strategic necessity to locate agricultural economic activity within social and environmental spheres.This paper demonstrates the need to establish transdisciplinary multi-actor work-schemes to continue collaboration and research for the transition to an agro-ecological model as a means to remain competitive and to create value
