    Estudio micro-Raman y micro-Fotoluminíscente de capas delgadas de ZnO

    We present the experimental results of optical analysis of nanostructured ZnO thin films grown onto commercial glass by reactive sputtering. Films with 20, 50, and 100 nm in thickness were analyzed by micro-Raman and micro-photoluminescence spectroscopies. Raman and photoluminescence bands were deconvoluted with Lorentzian profiles, in order to obtain information about response of films to excitation with laser light, occurring changes in position, full width half maximum (FWHM), and area of each phonon and emission bands of ZnO, correlating them with its nanostructure nature, and packing morphology of ZnO nanocolumns.Presentamos los resultados experimentales del análisis óptico de capas delgadas nanoestructuradas de ZnO crecidas sobre vidrio comercial por pulverización catódica reactiva. Las capas delgadas con 20, 50 y 100 nm de espesor fueron analizadas por espectroscopias micro-Raman y micro-fotoluminiscencia. Las bandas Raman y de fotoluminiscencia se desconvolucionaron con perfiles Lorentzianos, para obtener información sobre la respuesta de las capas a la excitación con luz láser, a través de los cambios en la posición, el anchura a media altura y el área de cada banda fonónica y de emisión del ZnO, correlacionándolo con su naturaleza nanoestructural, y la morfología de empaquetamiento de las nanocolumnas de ZnO

      The authors performed a polarimetric prototype for wavelength measurements. In the design both Faraday rotators acting for modulation of the incoming laser light and also as compensator, allow together with a quartz plate, a precise measurement of laser wavelength from 400 to 900 nm, with a resolution better than 0.1 nm. Equations and graphics current versus lambda for a quartz tungsten halogen lamp are presented for sensor adjustments. It is also presented a signal to noise analysis and a comparison with a conventional method.  En el presente trabajo se describe el diseño de un prototipo de medidor de longitud de onda polarimétrico. En el diseño los rotadores de Faraday actúan en la modulación y compensación de la luz incidente, estos unidos a una placa de cuarzo permite la medición de longitudes de onda entre 400 y 900 nm, con una resolución mejor que 0.1 nm. Las ecuaciones y los gráficos de corriente contra la longitud de onda son presentados para ajustes de los sensores. Además es presentado un análisis de la relación señal-ruido y una comparación con el método tradicional

    Environmentally-assisted fatigue crack growth in prestressing steel wires

    This paper presents the evolution of the surface crack front in prestressing reinforced concrete steel wires subjected to fatigue in air and to corrosion-fatigue in Ca(OH)₂+NaCl. To this end, a numerical modelling was made on the basis of a discretization of the crack front (with elliptical shape), considering that the crack advance at each point is perpendicular to such a front according to a Paris-Erdogan law, and using a threeparameter solution for stress intensity factor (SIF). Each analyzed case (a particular initial crack geometry) was characterized by the evolution of the semielliptical crack aspect ratio (relation between the semiaxes of the ellipse) with the relative crack depth and by the variation of the maximum dimensionless SIF at the crack front.Описано еволюцію фронту поверхневої тріщини в сталевих дротах для переднапруженого стану залізобетону, підданих втомному навантаженню на повітрі і корозійній втомі в середовищі Ca(OH)₂ + NaCl. На основі дискретизації чисельно змодельовано фронт тріщини, який приймали еліптичним, і вважали, що тріщина в кожній точці просувається перпендикулярно до її фронту згідно з законом Періса–Ердогана. Використовували трипараметричний розв’язок для коефіцієнта інтенсивності напружень (КІН). Кожний з аналізованих випадків, якому відповідала певна початкова геометрія тріщини, характеризувався еволюцією форми напівеліптичної тріщини (відношення півосей еліпса) і відносної її глибини, а також варіацією значень максимального безрозмірного КІН вздовж фронту тріщини.Описана эволюция фронта поверхностной трещины в стальных проволоках для преднапряженного состояния железобетона, подвергаемых усталости на воздухе и коррозионной усталости в среде Ca(OH)₂+ NaCl. На основе дискретизации численно смоделирован фронт трещины, который принимали полуэллиптическим, и считали, что трещина в каждой точке движется перпендикулярно к ее фронту согласно закону Пэриса– Эрдогана. Использовали трехпараметрическое решение для коэффициента интенсивности напряжений (КИН). Каждый из анализированных случаев, которому соответствовала определенная начальная геометрия трещины, характеризовался эволюцией формы полуэллиптической трещины (отношение полуосей эллипса) и относительной ее глубины, а также изменением значений максимального безразмерного КИН вдоль фронта трещины

    The Spanish version of the believability of anxious feelings and Thoughts Questionnaire

    Background: Cognitive fusion is suggested to play an important role in the etiology and maintenance of anxiety disorders according to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This study presents the psychometric data of the Spanish version of a cognitive fusion measure in the context of anxiety: the Believability of Anxious Feelings and Thoughts Questionnaire (BAFT). Method: First, we back-translated the BAFT into Spanish and then, administered it to three samples, with a total of 598 participants, in addition to other relevant anxiety measures. Results: Data were very similar to those obtained with the original BAFT version. The BAFT showed a very good internal consistency (overall a= .92) and a hierarchical factor structure with two lower-order factors and one hierarchical factor. Participants showing mild levels of anxiety symptoms scored higher on the BAFT than participants who scored below the cutoffs. BAFT scores were significantly related to anxiety symptoms and to measures of psychological inflexibility, anxiety sensitivity, and mindfulness facets. Moreover, the BAFT showed incremental validity relative to anxiety sensitivity. Conclusions: This Spanish version of the BAFT emerges as a reliable and valid measure of cognitive fusion with anxious thoughts and feelings. Antecedentes: la fusión cognitiva juega un papel importante en la etiología y mantenimiento de los trastornos de ansiedad según la Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso. Este estudio presenta datos psicométricos de la versión española del Cuestionario de Credibilidad de Sentimientos y Pensamientos Ansiógenos (BAFT). Método: se realizó una traducción inversa del BAFT al español y se administró a tres muestras, con un total de 598 participantes, conjuntamente con otras medidas de ansiedad. Resultados: los datos fueron muy similares a los obtenidos en la versión original del BAFT. El BAFT mostró una muy buena consistencia interna (alfa promedio de .92) y una estructura jerárquica con dos factores de primer orden y un factor de segundo orden. Los participantes con niveles moderados de ansiedad puntuaron más en el BAFT que los participantes que mostraron puntuaciones inferiores. Las puntuaciones en el BAFT correlacionaron significativamente con variedad de síntomas de ansiedad y con medidas de inflexibilidad psicológica, sensibilidad a la ansiedad y facetas de mindfulness. El BAFT mostró validez incremental en relación a la sensibilidad a la ansiedad. Conclusiones: la versión española del BAFT emerge como una medida fiable y válida de fusión cognitiva con pensamientos y sentimientos ansiógenos

    Palynological age constraint of Les Vilelles unit, Catalan Coastal Chain, Spain

    Les Vilelles unit is a detrital sequence exposed at the southwestern margin of the Catalan Coastal Chain (CCC), NE Spain, below the Carboniferous turbiditic series. Based on the palynological content, the age of this unit was initially assigned to the Middle-Late Devonian (Eifelian to Famennian). Additional radiolarian and conodont findings were considered to be Early–Middle Mississippian (Tournaisian to early Visean). To clarify this age discrepancy a new and more comprehensive palynostratigraphic analysis has been conducted in the upper part of the section representative of Les Vilelles unit. This has provided an assemblage of miospores, acritarchs, prasinophyta phycomata and chitinozoans that can be confidently assigned to a latest Frasnian interval, in contact with the Frasnian–Famennian boundary. Therefore, the present analysis refines the Middle–Late Devonian age formerly assigned, establishes a latest Frasnian age for the top of the unit, and provides new insights to the better understanding of the unconformity and hiatus separating the pre-Carboniferous and Carboniferous CCC series in the Priorat Massif. The study also includes a systematic section with the description of three newly established miospore species: Dibolisporites coniugatum, Dibolisporites prioratum and Rugospora spinosa

    Assessment, Design and Implementation of a Private Cloud for MapReduce Applications

    [Abstract] Scientific computation and data intensive analyses are ever more frequent. On the one hand, the MapReduce programming model has gained a lot of attention for its applicability in large parallel data analyses and Big Data applications. On the other hand, Cloud computing seems to be increasingly attractive in solving these computing problems that demand a lot of resources. This paper explores the potential symbiosis between MapReduce and Cloud Computing, in order to create a robust and scalable environment to execute MapReduce workflows regardless of the underlaying infrastructure. The main goal of this work is to provide an easy-to-install interface, so as non-expert scientists can deploy a suitable testbed for their MapReduce experiments on local resources of their institution.
