    Upper limits for a narrow resonance in the reaction p + p -> K^+ + (Lambda p)

The reaction pp -> K^+ + (Lambda p) has been measured at T_p = 1.953 GeV and \Theta = 0 deg with a high missing mass resolution in order to study the Lambda p final state interaction. Narrow S = -1 resonances predicted by bag model calculations are not visible in the missing mass spectrum. Small structures observed in a previous experiment are not confirmed. Upper limits for the production cross section of a narrow resonance are deduced for missing masses between 2058 and 2105 MeV/c^2.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figure

Identity Provider Deployment Based on Container Technology

    Get PDF
Identity Providers are an integral part of Identity Federations. Many different and complex technologies are needed to create an Identity Provider. In order to be able to fully utilize all the benefits of Identity Federations, adequate hardware resources are needed for Identity Provider deployment. Containers address the complexity and resources issues, while enabling faster deployment and keeping the functionalities and core concepts intact at the same time. Containers cannot be perceived as a replacement for virtual machines or bare metal servers, as they are meant to co-exist and have already found a wide range of use cases. This paper proposes using containers for easier implementation of Identity Providers, while lowering resource usage and complexity imposed by deployment requirements

The positively charged pions produced in proton-proton collisions at a beam momentum of 1640 MeV/c were measured in the forward direction with a high resolution magnetic spectrograph. The missing mass distribution shows the bound state (deuteron) clearly separated from the pnpn continuum. Despite the very good resolution, there is no evidence for any significant production of the pnpn system in the spin-singlet state. However, the σ(ppπ+pn)/σ(ppπ+d)\sigma(pp\to \pi^+pn)/\sigma(pp\to \pi^+d) cross section ratio is about twice as large as that predicted from SS-wave final-state-interaction theory and it is suggested that this is due to DD-state effects in the pnpn system.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figure

Cross section of the ppK+Σ+npp\to K^+\Sigma^+n reaction close to threshold

We have measured inclusive data on K+K^+-meson production in pppp collisions at COSY J\"ulich close to the hyperon production threshold and determined the hyperon-nucleon invariant mass spectra. The spectra were decomposed into three parts: Λp\Lambda p, Σ0p\Sigma^0p and Σ+n\Sigma^+n. The cross section for the Σ+n\Sigma^+n channel was found to be much smaller than a previous measurement in that excess energy region. The data together with previous results at higher energies are compatible with a phase space dependence.Comment: accepted by Phys. lett. B some typos correcte

Study of the p+6\bm{p+^6}Liη+7\bm{\to\eta+^7}Be reaction 11.3 MeV above threshold

The cross section for the reaction p+6Liη+7Bep+^6\text{Li}\to\eta+^7\text{Be} was measured at an excess energy of 11.28 MeV above threshold by detecting the recoiling 7^7Be nuclei. A dedicated set of focal plane detectors was built for the magnetic spectrograph Big Karl and was used for identification and four momentum measurement of the 7^7Be. A differential cross section of dσdΩ=(0.69±0.20(stat.)±0.20(syst.))nb/sr\frac{d\sigma}{d\Omega}=(0.69\pm{0.20}\text{(stat.)}\pm 0.20\text{(syst.)})\text{nb/sr} for the ground state plus the 1/2^- was measured. The result is compared to model calculations.Comment: accepted by Phys. Rev. C as rapid communicatio

Search for η\eta-mesic nuclei in recoil-free transfer reaction

We have studied the reaction p+27Al3He+p+π+Xp+{^{27}Al}\to {^3{He}}+p+\pi^-+X at recoil-free kinematics. An η\eta meson possibly produced in this reaction would be thus almost at rest in the laboratory system and could therefore be bound with high probability, if nuclear η\eta states exist. The decay of such a state through the N(1535)N^*(1535) resonance would lead to a proton-π\pi^- pair emitted in opposite directions. For these conditions we find some indication of such a bound state. An upper limit of \approx 0.5 nb is found.Comment: 3 figure

Production of high quality milk, milk containing low number of bacteria (several thousand to lt 141 000 cells/ml of milk) and low number of somatic cells count (SČ), is the target of Program of control and prevention of mastitis in dairy cows. Program of mastitis control must provide diagnostic tests for evaluation of udder infections by enviromental microorganizams and prevention of new intramammarian infections (IMI). The evidence is presented that longterm, intensive program of teat désinfection after milking and therapy of dryed cows are procedures which are enabling significant decrease of SČ and number of bacteria in 1 ml of milk. Clinical changes of udder are offtenly caused by Corynebacterium bovis, Streptococcus sp. and Staphylococcus sp. which are also responsible for increasment of SČ and IMI cases. Knowing that most of mastitisies are subclinical by character, than it is understandable that various IMI of dairy cows are appearing after usage of the various antiseptics. We have been using accessory remedy for dry milking VETER-D, for prevention of sub-clinical mastitisies, "dry" milking and evaluation of IMI spreadness in udder health ma-nagment program, on 403 dairy cows.

Theories of Change and Mediators of Psychotherapy Effectiveness in Adolescents With Externalising Behaviours: A Systematic Review

bstract Background Externalising behaviours are becoming a remarkably prevalent problem during adolescence, often precipitating both externalising and internalising disorders in later adulthood. Psychological treatments aim to increase the social functioning of adolescents in order for them to live a more balanced life and prevent these negative trajectories. However, little is known of the intervening variables and mediators involved in these treatments' change mechanisms. We conducted a systematic review, exploring the available evidence on mediators of psychological treatments for externalising behaviours and symptoms amongst adolescents (10 to 19 years old). Methods A systematic search was performed on Medline and PsycINFO databases, which identified studies from inception to February 23, 2020. Eligible studies included randomised controlled trials that enrolled adolescents with externalising symptoms and behaviours as, at least, one of the primary outcomes. A group of 20 reviewers from the COST-Action TREATme (CA16102) were divided into 10 pairs. Each pair independently screened studies for inclusion, extracted information from the included studies, and assessed the methodological quality of the included studies and the requirements for mediators, following Kazdin's criteria. Risk of bias of RCTs was assessed by the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool. Extracted data from the included studies were reported using a narrative synthesis. Results Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines (PRISMA), after removing duplicates, 3,660 articles were screened. Disagreements were resolved by consensus. In a second stage, 965 full-text articles were assessed for eligibility. A total of 14 studies fulfilled all inclusion criteria. The majority were related to systemic psychological treatment approaches. Two types of mediators were identified as potentially being involved in the mechanisms of change for better social improvements of adolescents: to increase healthier parent–adolescent relationships and parental discipline. However, there were significant and non-significant results amongst the same mediators, which led to discussing the results tentatively. Conclusions Family variables were found to be the largest group of investigated mediators, followed by relational, behavioural, and emotional variables. No cognitive or treatment-specific mediators were identified. Both adequate behavioural control of adolescents' peer behaviour and a better positive balance in their relationships with their parents seemed to buffer the effects of externalising behaviours in adolescents. Several methodological limitations concerning mediation testing design, outcome measures, and mediator selection have been identified. Ethics and Dissemination Ethical approval was not required. Mediators and theories of change in psychotherapy with adolescents: a systematic review protocol

    Get PDF
Introduction Approximately 75% of mental disorders emerge before the age of 25 years but less than half receive appropriate treatment. Little is known about the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic change of adolescents in psychotherapy. The 'European Network of Individualised Psychotherapy Treatment of Young People with Mental Disorders', funded by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology, will conduct the first systematic review to summarise the existing knowledge on mediators and theories of change in psychotherapy for adolescents. Method A systematic review will be conducted, conforming to the reporting guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement recommendations. Electronic databases (PubMed and PsycINFO) have been systematically searched on 23 February 2020, for prospective, longitudinal and case-control designs which examine mediators of change. Participants will be adolescents between 10 and 19 years of age who suffer from a mental disorder or psychological difficulties and receive an intervention that aims at preventing, ameliorating and/or treating psychological problems. Ethics and dissemination Ethical approval is not required for this systematic review as no primary data will be collected. The results will be published in a peer-reviewed journals and at conference presentations and will be shared with stakeholder groups. The whole data set will be offered to other research groups following recommendations of the open science initiative. Databases with the systematic search will be made openly available following open science initiatives. PROSPERO registration number CRD42020177535

A precision determination of the mass of the η\eta meson

Several processes of meson production in proton-deuteron collisions have been measured simultaneously using a calibrated magnetic spectrograph. Among these processes, the η\eta meson is seen clearly as a sharp missing--mass peak on a slowly varying background in the p+d3He+Xp+d\to ^3\textrm{He} +X reaction. Knowing the kinematics of the other reactions with well determined masses, it is possible to deduce a precise mass for the η\eta meson. The final result, m(η)=547.311±0.028(stat)±0.032(syst) MeV/c2m(\eta)=547.311\pm 0.028 \textrm{(stat)} \pm 0.032 \textrm{(syst) MeV/c}^2, is significantly lower than that found by the recent NA48 measurement, though it is consistent with values obtained in earlier counter experiments.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures, Fig. 3 change
