Mathematical Modeling of the Parabolic Trough Collector Field of the TCP-100 Research Plant

The 9th EUROSIM Congress on Modelling and Simulation, EUROSIM 2016 Oulu (Finlandia)There are two main drawbacks when operating solar energy systems: a) the resulting energy costs are not yet competitive and b) solar energy is not always available when needed. In order to improve the overall solar plants efficiency, advances control techniques play an important role. In order to develop efficient and robust control techniques, the use of accurate mathematical models is crucial. In this paper, the mathematical modeling of the new TCP100 parabolic trough collector (PTC) research facility at the Plataforma Solar de Almería is presented. La hipnosis en la inducción de los trastornos disociativos

The text analyzes the possible influence of hypnosis on the configuration of dissociative disorders. Specifically, it discusses the controversy between authors who defend the existence of an altered state of consciousness or trance in hypnosis and those who criticise this standpoint and hold that the variables of the hypnotic situation are responsible for the hypnotic behavior. These arguments are related to explanations of dissociative disorders, and finally these disorders are suggested to be iatrogenic.En el presente trabajo se analiza la influencia que la hipnosis puede ejercer en la configuración de los trastornos disociativos. En concreto, se exponen los principales argumentos esgrimidos por el autor que defiende la existencia de un estado alterado de conciencia o trance en la hipnosis y los que, en contraposición, consideran que son las variables de la situación hipnótica las responsables de este comportamiento. Estos argumentos se ponen en relación con las explicaciones dadas para los trastornos disociativos sugiriéndose, finalmente, el carácter iatrogénico de los mismos

Euboeans in the Far West? New data and interpretations

Τα τελευταία χρόνια νέα υλικά πιθανής ευβοϊκής καταγωγής έχουν βρεθεί στην Ιβηρική Χερσόνησο, κάποια από τα οποία παραμένουν αδημοσίευτα. Χρονολογούνται ανάμεσα στο δεύτερο μισό του 9ου αιώνα π.Χ. και το πρώτο μισό του 8ου αιώνα π.Χ.· πρόκειται για το αρχαιότερο ελληνικό υλικό που έχει βρεθεί στη δυτική Μεσόγειο και στις ακτές του Ατλαντικού Ωκεανού μέχρι σήμερα. Ενώ πολλοί επιστήμονες έχουν προτείνει ότι οι Φοίνικες έφεραν αυτά τα υλικά στη μακρινή Δύση, σκοπός μου σε αυτό το άρθρο είναι να συνηγορήσω υπέρ της πρώιμης μεσολάβησης ναυτικών από την Εύβοια για τη μεταφορά αυτής της κεραμικής. Συνδυάζοντας διαφορετικά αποδεικτικά στοιχεία, τόσο φιλολογικά όσο και αρχαιολογικά, θα εντοπίσουμε παλαιά ευβοϊκά συμφέροντα στην κεντρική και δυτική Μεσόγειο πριν από την ίδρυση των πρώτων αποικιών. Στη συνέχεια θα επιχειρήσουμε να αποδείξουμε πως η πρωιμότερη ευβοϊκή ναυσιπλοΐα μπορεί να γίνει κατανοητή μέσα σε ένα πλαίσιο στο οποίο η συνεργασία με τους Φοίνικες ίσως να αποτελούσε τον κανόνα, καθώς φαίνεται να πιστοποιείται κατά τους πρώτους αποικισμούς τόσο τους ευβοϊκούς όσο και τους Φοινικικούς

Algunas novedades en Náucratis

Los nuevos estudios que se están llevando a cabo en Náucratis, así como algunos hallazgos recientes (la estela de Thonis-Heracleo) están incidiendo sobre la persistencia del elemento local junto al emporio griego. A partir de estos datos, se plantean nuevas hipótesis acerca de cómo se articula la relación entre ambas comunidades, especialmente después del final de la dinastía Saita, es decir, durante el periodo persa y durante la dinastía XXXThe new studies carried out in Naukratis as well as some recent findings (especially the stele of Thonis- Herakleion) are showing the persistence of the local element by the Greek emporion.
