    Sistematización de procesos en práctica profesional desde Trabajo Social

    Este trabajo tiene como objetivo la reconstrucción de la experiencia en la práctica profesional del pregrado de Trabajo Social de la Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios, centro regional Soacha, durante el primer periodo del año 2017; la cual se realizó con estudiantes de VI y VII semestre que se encontraban cursando el primer y segundo nivel de práctica profesional. Se visibiliza el acompañamiento desde el campo de Apoyo Docente en los procesos pedagógicos del área de práctica profesional, permitiendo la reflexión desde la docencia en un rol de formación profesional teniendo en cuenta el aprendizaje como un compromiso ético desde las actividades realizadas

    Relación entre tutoría docente y conducta agresiva de los estudiantes del tercer grado de secundaria de la I.E. “Augusto B. Leguía” de Puente Piedra. 2013

    Se tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación existente entre las variables tutoría docente y conducta agresiva de los estudiantes del tercer grado de secundaria de la I.E. “Augusto B. Leguía” de Puente Piedra. 2013. El tipo de estudio es el básico, el diseño que se empleó fue no experimental, correlacional, de corte transversal. Se utilizó una muestra censal de 160 sujetos. Los instrumentos de evaluación fueron dos cuestionarios, una para obtener información respecto a la tutoría docente y la otra para recoger información sobre la conducta agresiva. Se realizó el análisis psicométrico para ambos instrumentos, obteniéndose la confiabilidad y validez satisfactoria. Los resultados indican una correlación inversa y baja entre las variables el tutoría docente y la conducta agresiva (rho= -,251 p < 0.001) rechazándose así la hipótesis nula y afirmándose nuestra hipótesis general. Además indican una correlación inversa y baja entre las variables la tutoría docente e intimidación (rho= -,390 p < 0.001) rechazándose así la hipótesis nula y afirmándose nuestra hipótesis específica 1. Los resultados indican una correlación inversa y baja entre las variables la tutoría docente y la burla (rho= -,384 p < 0.001) rechazándose así la hipótesis nula y afirmándose nuestra hipótesis específica 2. Finalmente los resultados indican una correlación positiva y baja entre las variables la tutoría docente y pelea (rho= -,276 p < 0.001), por tanto se rechaza la hipótesis alterna y se acepta la hipótesis nula. Se concluye que a mayor tutoria docente menor conducta agresiva

    Efeitos de snack de amaranto desengordurado (Amaranthus caudatus L.) no metabolismo lipídico de pacientes com hipercolesterolemia moderada

    We evaluated the effects of defatted amaranth (Amaranthus caudatus L.) snacks on plasma lipids in moderate hypercholesterolemic patients. Twenty-two subjects [30-65 years old), 11 males, with total cholesterol (TC) &gt; 240 mg.dL-1, low-density cholesterol (LDL-c) 160-190 mg.dL-1 and plasma triglycerides (TG) < 400 mg.dL-1] were randomized in a double blind clinical trial to receive an amaranth snack (50 g/day) or equivalent corn snack (placebo) for 2 months. There were no differences between amaranth and placebo on TC and LDL-c, and TG respectively: -8.4 and -5.7% (p = 0.17); -12.3 and -9.7% (p = 0.41) and -0.6 and -7.3% (p = 0.47). However, amaranth snacks significantly reduced high-density cholesterol (HDL-c): -15.2 vs. -4% (p = 0.03). In conclusion, the intake of 50 g of extruded amaranth daily during 60 days did not significantly reduce LDL-c in moderate hypercholesterolemic subjects; furthermore there was a significant reduction in HDL-c. Studies with greater number of subjects and greater quantity of this food are necessary to test the effects of amaranth on lipid metabolism in humans.Avaliamos os efeitos de snacks feitos com amaranto desengordurado (Amaranthus caudatus L.) no metabolismo lipídico de pacientes com hipercolesterolemia moderada. O ensaio clínico contou com vinte e dois voluntários [30-65 anos, 11 homens, com colesterol total &gt; 240 mg.dL-1, LDL-c 160-190 mg.mL-1, e triglicerídeos plasmáticos (TG) < 400 mg.mL-1] aleatoriamente distribuídos em dois grupos que receberam um snack de amaranto (50 g/dia) ou um placebo equivalente (snack de milho) por dois meses. Não houve diferenças significativas entre o amaranto e o placebo no colesterol total, LDL-c e TG, cujos valores foram, respectivamente, -8,4 e -5,7% (p = 0,17); -12,3 e -9,7% (p = 0,41) e -0,6 e -7,3% (p = 0,47). Entretanto, o consumo de snacks de amaranto reduziu significativamente o HDL-c: -15,2 vs. -4% (p = 0,03). Concluímos que o consumo de 50 g de amaranto extrusado por 60 dias não foi suficiente para reduzir significativamente LDL-c em pacientes com hipercolesterolemia moderada; além disso, observou-se significativa redução de HDL-c.     Identification of the ovine mannose receptor and its possible role in Visna/Maedi virus infection

    This study aims to characterize the mannose receptor (MR) gene in sheep and its role in ovine visna/maedi virus (VMV) infection. The deduced amino acid sequence of ovine MR was compatible with a transmembrane protein having a cysteine-rich ricin-type amino-terminal region, a fibronectin type II repeat, eight tandem C-type lectin carbohydrate-recognition domains (CRD), a transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic carboxy-terminal tail. The ovine and bovine MR sequences were closer to each other compared to human or swine MR. Concanavalin A (ConA) inhibited VMV productive infection, which was restored by mannan totally in ovine skin fibroblasts (OSF) and partially in blood monocyte-derived macrophages (BMDM), suggesting the involvement of mannosylated residues of the VMV ENV protein in the process. ConA impaired also syncytium formation in OSF transfected with an ENV-encoding pN3-plasmid. MR transcripts were found in two common SRLV targets, BMDM and synovial membrane (GSM) cells, but not in OSF. Viral infection of BMDM and especially GSM cells was inhibited by mannan, strongly suggesting that in these cells the MR is an important route of infection involving VMV Env mannosylated residues. Thus, at least three patterns of viral entry into SRLV-target cells can be proposed, involving mainly MR in GSM cells (target in SRLV-induced arthritis), MR in addition to an alternative route in BMDM (target in SRLV infections), and an alternative route excluding MR in OSF (target in cell culture). Different routes of SRLV infection may thus coexist related to the involvement of MR differential expression

    Study of compartmentalization in the visna clinical form of small ruminant lentivirus infection in sheep

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>A central nervous system (CNS) disease outbreak caused by small ruminant lentiviruses (SRLV) has triggered interest in Spain due to the rapid onset of clinical signs and relevant production losses. In a previous study on this outbreak, the role of LTR in tropism was unclear and <it>env </it>encoded sequences, likely involved in tropism, were not investigated. This study aimed to analyze heterogeneity of SRLV Env regions - TM amino terminal and SU V4, C4 and V5 segments - in order to assess virus compartmentalization in CNS.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Eight Visna (neurologically) affected sheep of the outbreak were used. Of the 350 clones obtained after PCR amplification, 142 corresponded to CNS samples (spinal cord and choroid plexus) and the remaining to mammary gland, blood cells, bronchoalveolar lavage cells and/or lung. The diversity of the <it>env </it>sequences from CNS was 11.1-16.1% between animals and 0.35-11.6% within each animal, except in one animal presenting two sequence types (30% diversity) in the CNS (one grouping with those of the outbreak), indicative of CNS virus sequence heterogeneity. Outbreak sequences were of genotype A, clustering per animal and compartmentalizing in the animal tissues. No CNS specific signature patterns were found.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Bayesian approach inferences suggested that proviruses from broncoalveolar lavage cells and peripheral blood mononuclear cells represented the common ancestors (infecting viruses) in the animal and that neuroinvasion in the outbreak involved microevolution after initial infection with an A-type strain. This study demonstrates virus compartmentalization in the CNS and other body tissues in sheep presenting the neurological form of SRLV infection.</p

    Transferrin Isoforms, Old but New Biomarkers in Hereditary Fructose Intolerance

    Hereditary Fructose Intolerance (HFI) is an autosomal recessive inborn error of metabolism characterised by the deficiency of the hepatic enzyme aldolase B. Its treatment consists in adopting a fructose-, sucrose-, and sorbitol (FSS)-restrictive diet for life. Untreated HFI patients present an abnormal transferrin (Tf) glycosylation pattern due to the inhibition of mannose-6-phosphate isomerase by fructose-1-phosphate. Hence, elevated serum carbohydrate-deficient Tf (CDT) may allow the prompt detection of HFI. The CDT values improve when an FSS-restrictive diet is followed; however, previous data on CDT and fructose intake correlation are inconsistent. Therefore, we examined the complete serum sialoTf profile and correlated it with FSS dietary intake and with hepatic parameters in a cohort of paediatric and adult fructosemic patients. To do so, the profiles of serum sialoTf from genetically diagnosed HFI patients on an FSS-restricted diet (n = 37) and their age-, sex- and body mass index-paired controls (n = 32) were analysed by capillary zone electrophoresis. We found that in HFI patients, asialoTf correlated with dietary intake of sucrose (R = 0.575, p < 0.001) and FSS (R = 0.475, p = 0.008), and that pentasialoTf+hexasialoTf negatively correlated with dietary intake of fructose (R = −0.386, p = 0.024) and FSS (R = −0.400, p = 0.019). In addition, the tetrasialoTf/disialoTf ratio truthfully differentiated treated HFI patients from healthy controls, with an area under the ROC curve (AUROC) of 0.97, 92% sensitivity, 94% specificity and 93% accuracy.This work was supported by Exp.     Vitamin C and folate status in hereditary fructose intolerance

    Background Hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) is a rare inborn error of fructose metabolism caused by the deficiency of aldolase B. Since treatment consists of a fructose-, sucrose- and sorbitol-restrictive diet for life, patients are at risk of presenting vitamin deficiencies. Although there is no published data on the status of these vitamins in HFI patients, supplementation with vitamin C and folic acid is common. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess vitamin C and folate status and supplementation practices in a nationwide cohort of HFI patients. Methods Vitamin C and folic acid dietary intake, supplementation and circulating levels were assessed in 32 HFI patients and 32 age- and sex-matched healthy controls. Results Most of the HFI participants presented vitamin C (96.7%) and folate (90%) dietary intake below the recommended population reference intake. Up to 69% received vitamin C and 50% folic acid supplementation. Among HFI patients, 15.6% presented vitamin C and 3.1% folate deficiency. The amount of vitamin C supplementation and plasma levels correlated positively (R = 0.443; p = 0.011). Interestingly, a higher percentage of non-supplemented HFI patients were vitamin C deficient when compared to supplemented HFI patients (30% vs. 9.1%; p = 0.01) and to healthy controls (30% vs. 3.1%; p < 0.001). Conclusions Our results provide evidence for the first time supporting vitamin C supplementation in HFI. There is great heterogeneity in vitamin supplementation practices and, despite follow-up at specialised centres, vitamin C deficiency is common. Further research is warranted to establish optimal doses of vitamin C and the need for folic acid supplementation in HFI.This work was supported by Exp.     CAR density influences antitumoral efficacy of BCMA CAR T cells and correlates with clinical outcome

    Identification of new markers associated with long-term efficacy in patients treated with CAR T cells is a current medical need, particularly in diseases such as multiple myeloma. In this study, we address the impact of CAR density on the functionality of BCMA CAR T cells. Functional and transcriptional studies demonstrate that CAR T cells with high expression of the CAR construct show an increased tonic signaling with up-regulation of exhaustion markers and increased in vitro cytotoxicity but a decrease in in vivo BM infiltration. Characterization of gene regulatory networks using scRNA-seq identified regulons associated to activation and exhaustion up-regulated in CARHigh T cells, providing mechanistic insights behind differential functionality of these cells. Last, we demonstrate that patients treated with CAR T cell products enriched in CARHigh T cells show a significantly worse clinical response in several hematological malignancies.     Donde comienza la sustentabilidad o ¿dónde comienza la sustentabilidad?”: la experiencia PDTS en Santa Fé ciudad

    Hemos presentado en reuniones anteriores algunas experiencias de transferencia tecnológica que nuestro equipo realiza desde tanto Laboratorios y Cátedras donde la tarea universitaria ha sido vista como hecho integral, intentando potenciar el círculo virtuoso de retroalimentación entre docencia, investigación y extensión. Siempre hemos considerado a la extensión como la forma de transferir conocimientos al medio y a la vez la forma de detectar problemas que tiene la sociedad, hacerlos luego objetos de investigación y posteriormente también incorporarlos a la tarea docente. Así, toda nuestra tarea está enmarcada por una visión filosófica de la vida universitaria y del porqué de la Universidad Pública. Esta afirmación demás está decirlo tiene mayor vigencia en los momentos como el actual en que los gobiernos agobiados por problemas económicos, echan frecuentemente mano para cuestiones que entiende de mayor urgencia, a los recursos que deberían servir para alimentar el sistema. En el momento de presentar ante CONICET el PDTS, en conjunto constituido por la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Universidad Nacional del Litoral y la Municipalidad de Santa Fe tuvimos claro que los objetivos del mismo debían exceder, casi obligatoriamente, la mera experiencia de transferencia. Era necesario intentar ideas que pudieran servir de base para iniciar a futuro trabajos direccionables a la resolución de los grandes temas detectados. Particularmente el hábitat carenciado y el mundo del trabajo. Desarrollándose entonces una pregunta conductora: ¿es posible con la utilización de tecnología adecuada la resolución simultánea de hábitat y trabajo de personas con poca o nula capacitación específica? Nuestro eje fue la exploración y la realización de experiencias que demostraran la viabilidad a futuro de una fábrica social de casa-partes. Nuestros encuentros en Congresos anteriores CRETA han posibilitado exponer algunos avances. Por lo dicho la revisión en torno al momento de inicio del proceso de la sustentabilidad creemos es pertinente ya que el trabajo presenta implícitamente la hipótesis: ¿es sostenible o siquiera posible vivir en un lugar donde no se tiene trabajo? El trabajo, aún en curso, intenta explorar y debatir lo antes dicho.We have presented in previous meetings some experiences of technology transfer that our team carries out from both Laboratories and Chairs where the university task has been seen as an integral fact, trying to strengthen the virtuous circle of feedback between teaching, research and extension. We have always considered extension as the way to transfer knowledge to the environment and at the same time how to detect problems that society has, then make them objects of research and then also incorporate them into the teaching task. Thus, all our work is framed by a philosophical vision of university life and why the Public University. This affirmation, in other words, is more valid at times like the current one in which governments, overwhelmed by economic problems, frequently make use of issues that they deem most urgent, of the resources that should serve to feed the system. At the time of presenting the PDTS to CONICET, jointly constituted by the National University of La Plata, the National University of the Litoral and the Municipality of Santa Fe, we were clear that its objectives should exceed, almost compulsorily, the mere experience of transfer. It was necessary to try ideas that could serve as a basis to start future works that can be directed to the resolution of the big issues detected. Particularly the deprived habitat and the world of work. Developing a conductive question then: is it possible with the use of appropriate technology the simultaneous resolution of habitat and work of people with little or no specific training? Our axis was the exploration and the realization of experiences that demonstrate the future viability of a social factory of house-parties. Our meetings at previous CRETA Congresses have made it possible to present some advances. For what has been said, the review around the moment of beginning of the process of sustainability we believe is pertinent since the work implicitly presents the hypothesis: is it sustainable or even possible to live in a place where there is no work? The work, still in progress, tries to explore and debate what was said before.Laboratorio de Tecnología y Gestión Habitaciona
