EU INTEGRATION PROCESS OF BOSNIA HERSEGOVINA: A CRITICAL PERSPECTIVE
As one of the Western Balkan countries Bosnia-Hersegovina had the first official contact with the EU immediately after its recognition as the sovereign and independent state on April 1992 by the Union. Nevertheless, some structural and institutional problems arisen from the Dayton Peace Agreement halting the war hadbeen signed on December 1995 made the EU integration process more complex and complicated for Bosnia-Hersegovina. Under these circumstances, Dayton Peace Agreement created a state which was lack of executive and bureaucratic structurewhich will represent the whole country and intermixed decision-making bodies/assets which will proceed the relations with EU. This study aims to elaborate the EU-Bosnia-Hersegovina relations within the framework of Western Balkans. For this target, the strategies, policies, dynamics, actors and instruments of the EU used for the sake of removing the problems during this process will be explained inthe first stage, the historical evolution, turning points and theoretical perspective ofthe relations will be summarized secondly and lastly, the critical analysis of therecent developments and futuristic perspective of these relations will be discussed with socio-political aspects as well as with the different perception of the parties concerned with this process
Device characteristics of antenna-coupled metal-insulator-metal diodes (rectenna) using Al2O3, TiO2, and Cr2O3 as insulator layer for energy harvesting applications
Antenna-coupled metal-insulator-metal devices are most potent candidate for future energy harvesting devices. The reason for that they are ultra-high speed devices that can rectify the electromagnetic radiation at high frequencies. In addition to their speed, they are also small devices that can have more number of devices in unit area. In this work, it is aimed design and develop a device which can harvest and detect IR radiation
Model, design, and fabrication of antenna coupled metal-insulator-metal diodes for IR sensing
There is increasing demand for devices operating at room temperature for IR sensing and imaging. Antenna coupled metal-insulator-metal (MIM) diodes are potential candidates in this field. The reasons are miniaturizing features and femtosecond operation of these devices: smaller sizes lead to more pixels in limited areas and quantum tunneling phenomenon leads to faster operation. In this work, it is aimed to design and develop a device that can act as IR detector at room temperature
Relationship between survival and increased radiation dose to subventricular zone in glioblastoma is controversial.
To test the hypothesis on prolonged survival in glioblastoma cases with increased subventricular zone (SVZ) radiation dose. Sixty glioblastoma cases were previously treated with adjuvant radiotherapy and Temozolamide. Ipsilateral, contralateral and bilateral SVZs were contoured and their doses were retrospectively evaluated. Median follow-up, progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were 24.5, 8.5 and 19.3 months respectively. Log-rank tests showed a statistically significant correlation between contralateral SVZ (cSVZ) dose > 59.2 Gy (75th percentile) and poor median PFS (10.37 [95% CI 8.37-13.53] vs 7.1 [95% CI 3.5-8.97] months, p = 0.009). cSVZ dose > 59.2 Gy was associated with poor OS in the subgroup with subtotal resection/biopsy (HR: 4.83 [95% CI 1.71-13.97], p = 0.004). High ipsilateral SVZ dose of > 62.25 Gy (75th percentile) was associated with poor PFS in both subgroups of high performance status (HR: 2.58 [95% CI 1.03-6.05], p = 0.044) and SVZ without tumoral contact (HR: 10.57 [95% CI 2.04-49], p = 0.008). The effect of high cSVZ dose on PFS lost its statistical significance in multivariate Cox regression analysis. We report contradictory results compared to previous publications. Changing the clinical practice based on retrospective studies which even do not indicate consistent results among each other will be dangerous. We need carefully designed prospective randomized studies to evaluate any impact of radiation to SVZ in glioblastoma
Wavelet based flickering flame detector using differential PIR sensors
Cataloged from PDF version of article.A Pyro-electric Infrared (PIR) sensor based flame detection system is proposed using a Markovian
decision algorithm. A differential PIR sensor is only sensitive to sudden temperature variations within
its viewing range and it produces a time-varying signal. The wavelet transform of the PIR sensor signal
is used for feature extraction from sensor signal and wavelet parameters are fed to a set of Markov
models corresponding to the flame flicker process of an uncontrolled fire, ordinary activity of human
beings and other objects. The final decision is reached based on the model yielding the highest
probability among others. Comparative results show that the system can be used for fire detection in
large rooms.

Youth ministry at the margins and/or centre as space of the other: Reflections on the resolutions of the Anglican dioceses in the Western Cape 2017
Youth within the context of faith-based organisations carry with them certain power relations
and misconstrued connotations. These power relations and connotations can contribute to
alienation and marginalisation. The resolutions taken at the recent synods of the three
dioceses within the Western Cape reflect and identify the areas - both liturgical and
governance - of marginalisation of youth within the Anglican Church in southern Africa. The
resolutions also call on the church governing bodies and the leaders to create safe spaces
for the youth to be a central part of the mission of the church. Areas such as liturgy, training
and formation, contemporary worship and nurturing relationships are identified within
the resolutions. Theological notions of personhood within the Anglican tradition are to be
investigated as possible motivations for more acceptable power relations of the youth and
leaders and governance structures. What implications do such theological formulations have
for the space that the youth occupy within the margins of the church? A critical reflection of
the synod resolutions answers such questions and points to some contours for sense making
of the youth within the margins of the church from a faith-based organisational perspective

Pastoral care in communities under transition: Interplay between care and culture
This article contributes to pastoral care within communities under transition. It seeks to
contribute to the corpus of literature that relates pastoral care with culture and, particularly,
multicultural contexts. It seeks to critically engage with pastoral care approaches that has
dominated three strands of pastoral care. James, Boisen and Hiltner represent modern pastoral
care in the United States of America and theologies of Tillich, Hiltner and the ‘secular’
theologians of the 1960s influenced British pastoral theology. The third strand, African
perspective, lacks coherency and consistency as illustrated by the Society for Intercultural
Pastoral Care and Counselling (1988–2008), Pastoral Care and Counselling Today Manuscript
(1991) and The African Association for Pastoral Studies and Counselling (1985). This article
analysis narrative as a methodology for pastoral care.
After an overview of pastoral care and culture, different approaches of pastoral care are
discussed. A narrative approach to pastoral care in changing communities is recommended as
an effective means of care. The positions of the caregiver and cared for is changed within the
pastoral care so that both learns from the existential experience. The narrative approach has
three interrelated aspects, namely communication, community and experience
