    This study aims to examine the Kyai’s leadership model in the management of the Al-Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Gorontalo City. It also seeks to explore the impact of Kyai’s leadership approach on the administration of the Al-Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Gorontalo City. Employing field research, this investigation endeavors to delineate the realities of Kyai’s leadership model at the Al-Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Gorontalo. The research was conducted on-site at the Al-Khairat Islamic Boarding School, utilizing observational methods, interviews, and document analysis to gather data. The process involved the collection of diverse information, which was subsequently refined by sorting through the data to deduce conclusive findings. The research reveals that the Kyai’s management of the Al Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Gorontalo City is underpinned by a clear vision and mission to develop the institution. It emphasizes the importance of Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah Islam as a foundation for ethics, morality, motivation and inspiration for the students. Furthermore, it cultivates Alkhlakul karimah in students, aspiring to nurture a generation steeped in Rabbani values. The study identifies several leadership models employed by the Kyai, including visionary, charismatic, situational, and participative leadership. Significantly, the Kyai’s leadership is found to have a beneficial impact on educating students to become the next generation of Muslims leaders, equipped to enlighten their religion as rahmatan lil alamin

    ABSTRACT A number of indications show that the absence of leadership models applied by the principal in leading state technology high school (SMKN Technology) has not been any indication that the implementation of a model applied in effective school leadership in improving teacher performance. The common problem to be studied is how to implement models of effective school leadership on teachers' performance improvement professionals can be apply in state technology high school in Makassar. This study aims to produce a product and apply effective leadership model that can improve the performance of professional teachers who studied through initiation leadership structure and consideration and leadership approaches based on local wisdom. This study conducted in several phase, to make product design about leadership model and then validated. Further trials model conducted in narrow and wide ways. then look at the implementation of the model to increaseteacher performance.. Technical analysis data conducted with conductive quantitative analysis and qualitative with t test. The results reveal effect of leadership model with local wisdom approach is effective to improve professional teacher performance

    Effects of Using Silica Fume and Polycarboxylate-Type Superplasticizer on Physical Properties of Cementitious Grout Mixtures for Semiflexible Pavement Surfacing

    Semi-flexible pavement surfacing is a composite pavement that utilizes the porous pavement structure of the flexible bituminous pavement, which is subsequently grouted with appropriate cementitious materials. This study aims to investigate the compressive strength, flexural strength, and workability performance of cementitious grout. The grout mixtures are designed to achieve high strength and maintain flow properties in order to allow the cement slurries to infiltrate easily through unfilled compacted skeletons. A paired-sample t-test was carried out to find out whether water/cement ratio, SP percentages, and use of silica fume influence the cementitious grout performance. The findings showed that the replacement of 5% silica fume with an adequate amount of superplasticizer and water/cement ratio was beneficial in improving the properties of the cementitious grout

    Physical and mechanical properties of juvenile wood from Neolamarckia cadamba planted in west Malaysia

    Juvenile Neolamarckia cadamba or kelempayan tree has been harvested from forest plantation and converted into sawn timber. Some basic properties of timber such as physical and mechanical were determined from different parts of the tree namely lower, center and upper. The physical properties were evaluated. The mechanical properties were conducted using small test clear specimens. The results indicated that the physical and mechanical properties of the lower portion of the trunk were significantly superior compared to the upper portion of the trunk. The investigation revealed that the wood be able to use as a substitute material of the furniture components after some modification undertaken on its properties

    Finite element analysis of non-Newtonian magnetohemodynamic flow conveying nanoparticles through a stenosed coronary artery

    The present study considers two-dimensional mathematical modelling of non-Newtonian nanofluid hemodynamics with heat and mass transfer in a stenosed coronary artery in the presence of a radial magnetic field. The second-grade differential viscoelastic constitutive model is adopted for blood to mimic non-Newtonian characteristics and blood is considered to contain a homogenous suspension of nanoparticles. Vogel’s model is employed to simulate the variation of blood viscosity as a function of temperature. The governing equations are an extension of the Navier-Stokes equations with linear Boussinesq’s approximation and Buongiorno’s nanoscale model (which simulates both heat and mass transfer). The conservation equations are normalized by employing appropriate non-dimensional variables. It is assumed that the maximum height of the stenosis is small in comparison with the radius of the artery and furthermore that the radius of the artery and length of the stenotic region are of comparable magnitude. To study the influence of vessel geometry on blood flow and nano-particle transport, variation in the design and size of the stenosis is considered in the domain. The transformed equations are solved numerically by means of the finite element method based on the variational approach and simulated using the FreeFEM++ code. A detailed grid-independence study is included. Blood flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics are examined for the effects of selected geometric, nanoscale, rheological, viscosity and magnetic parameters i.e. stenotic diameter (d), viscoelastic parameter (), thermophoresis parameter (Ni), Brownian motion parameter (Nb) and magnetic body force parameter (M) at the throat of the stenosis and throughout the arterial domain. The velocity, temperature and nanoparticle concentration fields are also visualized through instantaneous patterns of contours. An increase in magnetic and thermophoresis parameters is found to enhance the temperature, nanoparticle concentration and skin-friction coefficient. Increasing Brownian motion parameter is observed to accelerate the blood flow. Narrower stenosis significantly alters the temperature and nano-particle distributions and magnitudes. The novelty of the study relates to the combination of geometric complexity, multi-physical nanoscale and thermomagnetic behaviour and also the simultaneous presence of bio-rheological behaviour (all of which arise in actual cardiovascular heat transfer phenomena) in a single work with extensive visualization of the flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics. The simulations are relevant to diffusion of nanodrugs in magnetic targeted treatment of stenosed arterial disease

    Perkembangan sektor industri dan manufaktur yang terjadi di Malang yang juga diikuti dengan peningkatan jumlah penduduk yang sangat pesat di setiap tahunnya disebabkan karena semakin banyaknya pendatang yang menaruh minat pada kota Malang sebagai destinasi tujuan, baik itu tujuan pelajar, rekreasi/wisata dan juga destinasi investasi pembangunan. Dengan kondisi saluran drainase di Jalan Sukarno Hatta saat ini belum mampu mengatasi permasalahan banjir atau genangan yang terjadi setiap musim penghujan, yang disebabkan konstruksi fisik tidak terawat akibat sampah. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, maka diperlukan adanya penelitian dalam mengatasi banjir atau genangan di Jalan Sukarno Hatta yaitu dengan mengevaluasi kapasitas saluran drainase untuk menampung aliran permukaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi umum dan daya tampung serta melakukan evaluasi saluran drainase di daerah Jalan Sukarno Hatta. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode pemodelan air limpasan dari hujan yang terjadi pada saluran drainase di Jalan Sukarno Hatta menggunakan perangkat lunak yang bernama SWMM (Storm Water Management Modeling) versi 5.1. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah dilakukan memebrikan hasil bahwa Jalan Sukarno Hatta memiliki 6 saluran yang banjir dari total 21 saluran

    Persepsi belia terhadap sistem demokrasi dan tahap kesedaran mendaftar sebagai pemilih

    Masyarakat Malaysia masih memandang dingin terhadap hak mereka untuk mendaftar sebagai pemilih dan mengundi di dalam pilihan raya. Senario ini agak membimbangkan jika dibiarkan dalam jangka masa panjang kerana akan menjejaskan semangat cintakan negara dan rasa tanggungjawab rakyat terhadap negara. Ini jelas terbukti dengan statistik yang dikeluarkan oleh Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Malaysia yang menunjukkan peningkatan bilangan warganegara yang masih belum mendaftar sebagai pemilih saban tahun. Sehubungan dengan itu, kertas kerja ini membincangkan tentang satu hasil kajian oleh beberapa orang penyelidik Universiti Teknologi Malaysia bertujuan mengenal pasti tahap kesedaran belia terhadap pendaftaran sebagai pemilih iaitu mengenal pasti dan persepsi mereka terhadap sistem demokrasi negara ini. Responden kajian ini terdiri daripada 6300 golongan belia (22 tahun hingga 40 tahun) yang belum mendaftar sebagai pemilih yang dipilih secara persampelan kebetulan dan persampelan ‘snowballing’ di seluruh Malaysia. Soal selidik digunakan bagi mengumpulkan data. Tahap kesedaran sebagai pemilih diukur menerusi tiga faktor iaitu faktor pengetahuan, faktor hak dan faktor tanggungjawab. Hasil kajian menunjukkan walaupun golongan berpotensi ini masih belum mendaftar sebagai pemilih, namun tahap kesedaran mereka terhadap ketiga-tiga faktor tersebut adalah tinggi. Begitu juga majoriti golongan belia ini menyatakan berpuas hati dengan amalan demokrasi dan perjalanan proses pilihan raya di Malaysia. Kajian ini juga ada mencadangkan cara-cara menggalakkan golongan belia yang belum mendaftar supaya segera mendaftar dan mengundi di dalam pilihan raya akan datang
