Difference in the color stability of direct and indirect resin composites

    Get PDF
Indirect resin composites are generally regarded to have better color stability than direct resin composites since they possess higher conversion degree. OBJECTIVE: The present study aimed at comparing the changes in color (ΔE) and color coordinates (ΔL, Δa and Δb) of one direct (Estelite Sigma: 16 shades) and 2 indirect resin composites (BelleGlass NG: 16 shades; Sinfony: 26 shades) after thermocycling. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Resins were packed into a mold and light cured; post-curing was performed on indirect resins. Changes in color and color coordinates of 1-mm-thick specimens were determined after 5,000 cycles of thermocycling on a spectrophotometer. RESULTS: ΔE values were in the range of 0.3 to 1.2 units for direct resins, and 0.3 to 1.5 units for indirect resins, which were clinically acceptable (Δ

Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Adoption in Sarawak (Malaysia): Implementation Motivations

Environmental management has been in the process of evolution since Industrial Revolutions of 18th and 19th centuries. And the more recent is the development of international environmental management standards and guidelines to facilitate global trade. These environmental management standards and guidelines are usually known as Environmental Management Systems (EMS). This research investigates the implementation motivations in relation to EMS adoption in Sarawak, Malaysia organizations. Empirical findings of a survey on the above in Sarawak organizations are presented. About 112 survey questionnaires invitations were forwarded to various organizations in Sarawak and a total of 47 responses were received. The results of this research show that among the Sarawak organizations, the top three implementation motivations or benefits from implementing EMS according to their importance by the Sarawak EMS user’s organizations are 1) Legal compliance as the top benefit of EMS implementation; 2) Improvement in operational environmental protection; and 3) Corporate image advantages.Environmental management has been in the process of evolution since Industrial Revolutions of 18th and 19th centuries. Dynamics of Social Influence on New Employees’ Use of Volitional IS: m-EHR Case in Hospital Setting

    Get PDF
It is widely recognized that user resistance to Information Systems (IS) is particularly high in hospitals. In this regard, the future of mobile Electronic Health Record (m-EHR) systems is highly in question, mainly because their usage is not mandatory. Aiming to provide insights on how best to promote the use of m-EHR in hospitals, we investigate the effect of social influences on m-EHR usage by new doctors who recently began working at a hospital. Drawing upon the concept of organizational socialization and social influences, we hypothesize that coworkers’ m-EHR usage is positively associated with one by new doctors, and the strength of this association varies by the coworkers’ type of usage, by the hierarchical rankings of coworkers, and by the stage of socialization process in which the new doctors are situated. Our analyses using longitudinal m-EHR usage data (595,914 logs of 737 doctors) generally support our hypotheses

Korean language journalThe purpose of this study was to examine for the deference of leisure activities attitude compared with Korean and America university students' characteristics of leisure activities attitude in subcategory factors of leisure activities attitude include recognitive attitude, definitive attitude, behavioral attitude. 241 M,H,Y university students in Korea and 143 North Carolina N university students are responded survey for this study from 2007, May to August. The collected data based of survey are analyzed through frequency analysis, t- test, one-way ANOV A analysis by SPSS WIN ver 12.0. The result is following : First, there were statistical difference of leisure activities attitude in behavioral attitude between Korean students and America students. Second, there were statistical difference shows difference grade sector, own major, personal expenses in recognitive attitude. Third, the statistical difference shows grade sector, personal expenses in definitive attitude. Forth, the statistical difference shows grade sector, own major and personal expenses in of behavioral attitude

Unraveling the nuclear and chloroplast genomes of an agar producing red macroalga, Gracilaria changii (Rhodophyta, Gracilariales)

Agar and agarose have wide applications in food and pharmaceutical industries. Knowledge on the genome of red seaweeds that produce them is still lacking. To fill the gap in genome analyses of these red algae, we have sequenced the nuclear and organellar genomes of an agarophyte, Gracilaria changii. The partial nuclear genome sequence of G. changii has a total length of 35.8 Mb with 10,912 predicted protein coding sequences. Only 39.4% predicted proteins were found to have significant matches to protein sequences in SwissProt. The chloroplast genome of G. changii is 183,855 bp with a total of 201 open reading frames (ORFs), 29 tRNAs and 3 rRNAs predicted. Five genes: ssrA, leuC and leuD CP76_p173 (orf139) and pbsA were absent in the chloroplast genome of G. changii. The genome information is valuable in accelerating functional studies of individual genes and resolving evolutionary relationship of red seaweeds

SBTRec- A Transformer Framework for Personalized Tour Recommendation Problem with Sentiment Analysis

When traveling to an unfamiliar city for holidays, tourists often rely on guidebooks, travel websites, or recommendation systems to plan their daily itineraries and explore popular points of interest (POIs). However, these approaches may lack optimization in terms of time feasibility, localities, and user preferences. In this paper, we propose the SBTRec algorithm: a BERT-based Trajectory Recommendation with sentiment analysis, for recommending personalized sequences of POIs as itineraries. The key contributions of this work include analyzing users' check-ins and uploaded photos to understand the relationship between POI visits and distance. We introduce SBTRec, which encompasses sentiment analysis to improve recommendation accuracy by understanding users' preferences and satisfaction levels from reviews and comments about different POIs. Our proposed algorithms are evaluated against other sequence prediction methods using datasets from 8 cities. The results demonstrate that SBTRec achieves an average F1 score of 61.45%, outperforming baseline algorithms. The paper further discusses the flexibility of the SBTRec algorithm, its ability to adapt to different scenarios and cities without modification, and its potential for extension by incorporating additional information for more reliable predictions. Overall, SBTRec provides personalized and relevant POI recommendations, enhancing tourists' overall trip experiences. Future work includes fine-tuning personalized embeddings for users, with evaluation of users' comments on POIs,~to further enhance prediction accuracy
