El impacto de la DeclaraciĂłn Universal de los Derechos Humanos en las constituciones iberoamericanas.
"The Universal DedaratĂon of Human Rights meets sixty years, but
their impact on modern constitutions has not been the most favourable to becoming
the single source of reference for the recognition of the rights at the international
level, in fact has resulted in a incontinence approval treaty speciaHzed

Application of the Kelly Criterion to Ornstein-Uhlenbeck Processes
In this paper, we study the Kelly criterion in the continuous time framework
building on the work of E.O. Thorp and others. The existence of an optimal
strategy is proven in a general setting and the corresponding optimal wealth
process is found. A simple formula is provided for calculating the optimal
portfolio for a set of price processes satisfying some simple conditions.
Properties of the optimal investment strategy for assets governed by multiple
Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes are studied. The paper ends with a short
discussion of the implications of these ideas for financial markets.Comment: presented at Complex'2009 (Shanghai, Feb. 23-25
âWelfare Gains and Annuities Demandâ
This paper extends the annuity demand theory, giving new reasons for the small annuities demand. Regarding this problem, Yaari (1965) claims, under the condition that no one can die in debt, that a selfish consumer will fully annuitized her savings, insofar as annuity asset yield dominate conventional assets yield. However, we demonstrated mathematically that, in a standard life-cycle model, when borrowings are unconstrained and financial markets are complete, a selfish consumer may prefer not to annuitize her savings. In addition, we analyze the desire to purchase annuities according to the risk aversion coefficient and wealth composition.Annuities Demand; Complete Markets; Myopic-selfish Behavior; Life-cycle Model
Impact of the European Clinical Trials Directive on prospective academic clinical trials associated with BMT
The European Clinical Trials Directive (EU 2001; 2001/20/EC) was introduced to improve the efficiency of commercial and academic clinical trials. Concerns have been raised by interested organizations and institutions regarding the potential for negative impact of the Directive on non-commercial European clinical research. Interested researchers within the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) were surveyed to determine whether researcher experiences confirmed this view. Following a pilot study, an internet-based questionnaire was distributed to individuals in key research positions in the European haemopoietic SCT community. Seventy-one usable questionnaires were returned from participants in different EU member states. The results indicate that the perceived impact of the European Clinical Trials Directive has been negative, at least in the research areas of interest to the EBMT

Women\u27s Worth: A Western Misconception
Focusing on gender relations and dominance within the Gusii of Kenya, Tombema, Kaihsienkung, and India cultures this paper will focus on bridewealth and dowry, specifically what it means in terms of women\u27s value or status within these cultural groups. The dominance of the male perspective in academics is one cause for women\u27s domestic or \u27secondary\u27 subsistence work being given lower status. Women\u27s contributions to subsistence especially domestically (in the home) are great. This paper will focus on two points. First is the lack of research done on the subject of bridewealth and dowry; the second point is to look at recent research that is appreciating and acknowledging women\u27s domestic contributions in more than just a reproductive capacity. Bridewealth and dowry are very fascinating topics since they are so variable between societies. Bridewealth and dowry should be considered further and in contemporary society, in how women are being valued in relation to their contribution to male\u27s production in society
