Synthesis of New Analogues of the Bengamides: Peptidyl Bengamides and Molecular Probes
Isolated from sponges of the Jaspidae family, first members where discovered in 1986. The bengamides represent an interesting and unprecedented family of natural products that displayed striking antitumor activities [1]. The recognition of these natural products as antiangiogenic compounds, in virtue to their inhibition of methionine aminopeptidases, prompted intense research activities in the chemical and biological fields. In fact, the total synthesis of the natural products, together with an extensive variety of analogues, has been reported in the literature [2]. Particularly, we have recently developed a new synthetic methodology which allowed rapid and efficient access to the natural bengamide E (1), together with a wide library of analogues of which the cyclopentyl analogue 2 was identified as a more potent antitumor compound with respect to its natural congener [3]. As continuation of these synthetic efforts, with the objective of identifying new potent and promising analogues, we wish to report our recent synthetic studies directed to the synthesis of new bengamide analogues, featured by the replacement of the caprolactam fragment by a peptidyl residue (compounds type 3). On the other hand, in order to gain insight into the mechanism of the biological action of the bengamides, we describe the preparation of the N-alkyl derivatives 4 and 5, which represent interesting molecules that could be employed as suitable molecular probes.
Over the last years, Universidad San Francisco de Quito has increased its demand. As a result, the provision of adequate schedules is more difficult each semester for new students. Consequently, this study aims to develop a tool that automatically generates the schedules needed. It also seeks to apply Operations Research for the generation of an optimization model, which allows obtaining a schedule for each student in their first semester, in which all relevant restrictions are considered according to the internal interests of the university. For this, the methodology of Lieberman and Hillier will be used to develop a mathematical model. Finally, the validation of the model performance is done by testing the accomplishment of all the restrictions within the generated schedules.

Rheological and microstructural study of concentrated sunflower oil in water emulsions stabilized by food proteins
Droplet Size Distribution (DSD) and linear viscoelastic
properties of concentrated o/w emulsions stabilized by
different proteins (crayfish, gluten and soybean) have been
studied. A typical behaviour of highly concentrated emulsions
with a high degree of flocculation has been found. An
increase in energy input for the emulsification process or in
emulsifier concentration leads to an increase in both
viscoelastic moduli (G’, G’’) as well as to a decrease in
droplet size. Thus, an enhancement of the entanglement
network produced by association of protein molecules that
are surrounding oil droplets or are present in the continuous
phase takes place, leading to a significant improvement of
emulsion stabilit
Metapopulation Patterns of Iberian Butterflies Revealed by Fuzzy Logic
Metapopulation theory considers that the populations of many species are fragmented
into patches connected by the migration of individuals through an interterritorial matrix. We applied
fuzzy set theory and environmental favorability (F) functions to reveal the metapopulational
structure of the 222 butterfly species in the Iberian Peninsula. We used the sets of contiguous grid
cells with high favorability (F ≥ 0.8), to identify the favorable patches for each species. We superimposed
the known occurrence data to reveal the occupied and empty favorable patches, as unoccupied
patches are functional in a metapopulation dynamics analysis. We analyzed the connectivity
between patches of each metapopulation by focusing on the territory of intermediate and low
favorability for the species (F < 0.8). The friction that each cell opposes to the passage of individuals
was computed as 1‐F. We used the r.cost function of QGIS to calculate the cost of reaching each cell
from a favorable patch. The inverse of the cost was computed as connectivity. Only 126 species can
be considered to have a metapopulation structure. These metapopulation structures are part of the
dark biodiversity of butterflies because their identification is not evident from the observation of
the occurrence data but was revealed using favorability functionsFunding for open access charge: Universidad de Málaga / CBU
Analysis of youth employment policy entrepreneurship in post-conflict a scenario
This article seeks to identify the public policy of youth employment in Colombia, as well as the generation of an academic contribution to help create incentives and job placement in this population from the analysis of that policy.
The relevance of this analysis is the high unemployment rate, especially in young recent graduates of universities; the figures are clear: in the case of men, a rate of 12 % is observed and for women, an average of 20 %. It should be noted that youth unemployment figures are more evident in rural areas with respect to capital cities, placing Colombia as the second country in Latin America with the highest rate of youth unemployment in the region.
Considering the above, will be announced some policy recommendations that will generate a contribution to the “Law 1780 of 2016” that promotes employment and youth entrepreneurship
Use of teaching strategies for the strengthening of vulnerable youth school coexistence
This research had purpose, evaluating the use of teaching strategies for the
strengthening of school coexistence of vulnerable young people, to thus finally formulate
a series of teaching strategies for the inclusion of young people displaced by the
violence to the educational system in the historical centre of Barranquilla-Colombia;
looking so ensure to children and adolescents rights reflected in the Constitution
(1991), for their full and harmonious development, where is guaranteed the right to
education according to the guidelines set forth by the Ministry of national education
[MEN], 2006. This study was built from the methodological perspective mixed
(qualitative-quantitative), phenomenological, descriptive type with a field design,
non-experimental. As population were analyzed to 100 students of the Maria Inmaculada
school district, belonging to the tenth degree. Thus, concludes that education
as a global process of society, is currently in a plot of principles, fundamentals and
values that should promote basic substantive changes of creation and regeneration
of the culture. So, could be in addition to UNESCO, said that the armed conflict in
Colombia and violence crime in the region, severely affect the educational process,
since Colombia is to become a scene of displaced persons, armed against schools,
violence creating a series of traumas in the school population
