Elizabeth I of England through Francoist Eyes: Maligning the Other

Este trabajo estudia la peculiar narrativa del libro titulado Dos Reinas. La Católica y la Protestante en el que el autor Nicolás González Ruiz establece una antítesis entre dos de las reinas más importantes de la historia: Isabel I de Inglaterra e Isabel I de Castilla. Por un lado, el objetivo principal del trabajo es analizar las intenciones políticas, históricas y religiosas que existen detrás del singular enfoque del autor para así perjudicar la imagen de Isabel I de Inglaterra. Por otro lado, la finalidad de este trabajo será tratar de explicar por qué este libro describe a Isabel I de Inglaterra de manera tan despectiva analizando las distintas técnicas creadas en la España franquista, las cuales se aplican en esta obra, para esclarecer las verdaderas intenciones del autor.This dissertation examines the particular narrative of the book entitled Dos Reinas. La Católica y la Protestante in which the author Nicolás González Ruiz establishes an antithesis between two of the most important female monarchs in history: Elizabeth I of England and Isabella I of Castile. On the one hand, the main focus of the dissertation is to analyze the political, historical and religious intentions existing behind the author’s singular approach to malign Queen Elizabeth of England’s image. On the other hand, the aim will be to explain why this book depicts Elizabeth derogatorily by analyzing the different techniques created during Francoist Spain, which are used in this work, disentangling the authentic and final intentions of the author.Departamento de Filología InglesaGrado en Estudios Inglese

Áreas lingüísticas e isoglosas morfológicas en la provincia de Zamora según los materiales del Cuaderno I del ALPI (1934-1935)

This paper continues the investigation of Zamora that Jorge Emilio Rosés Labrada began with his essay “Variation in Third-Person Object Pronouns in Zamora-Province Spanish, According to ALPI Data” XII, nº 2 165-206). (Dialectologia. Special issue, III, 2012, 157-176) by means of an analysis of some morphological variables in ALPI Cuaderno I (1934-1935) in Zamora; this new research increases the information provided by Jorge Emilio Rosés Labrada and it discusses if there is three morphological zones in Zamora similar to the three phonetic zones described by the essay by Juan Carlos González Ferrero, “Límites del dialecto leonés en la provincia de Zamora según los materiales del Cuaderno I del ALPI (1934-1935)” (Revista de Dialectología y Tradiciones Populares, 2007, julio-diciembre, vol. LXII, n.º 2, 165-206).Este artículo continúa la investigación de Zamora iniciada por Jorge Emilio Rosés Labrada en su trabajo “Variation in Third-Person Object Pronouns in Zamora-Province Spanish, According to ALPI Data” (Dialectologia. Special issue, III, 2012, 157-176) mediante el análisis de una serie de variables morfológicas en los materiales del Cuaderno I del ALPI (1934-1935) recogidos en esta provincia; a partir de este análisis, que amplía la información manejada por Rosés Labrada, se ahonda en la cuestión de si puede hablarse o no en Zamora de tres áreas lingüísticas desde el punto de vista morfológico puede hacerse desde el punto de vista fonético según las conclusiones del estudio de Juan Carlos González Ferrero, “Límites del dialecto leonés en la provincia de Zamora según los materiales del Cuaderno I del ALPI (1934-1935)” (Revista de Dialectología y Tradiciones Populares, 2007, julio-diciembre vol. Spatio-temporal dynamics of maize yield water constraints under climate change in Spain

Many studies have analyzed the impact of climate change on crop productivity, but comparing the performance of water management systems has rarely been explored. Because water supply and crop demand in agro-systems may be affected by global climate change in shaping the spatial patterns of agricultural production, we should evaluate how and where irrigation practices are effective in mitigating climate change effects. Here we have constructed simple, general models, based on biological mechanisms and a theoretical framework, which could be useful in explaining and predicting crop productivity dynamics. We have studied maize in irrigated and rain-fed systems at a provincial scale, from 1996 to 2009 in Spain, one of the most prominent >hot-spots> in future climate change projections. Our new approach allowed us to: (1) evaluate new structural properties such as the stability of crop yield dynamics, (2) detect nonlinear responses to climate change (thresholds and discontinuities), challenging the usual linear way of thinking, and (3) examine spatial patterns of yield losses due to water constraints and identify clusters of provinces that have been negatively affected by warming. We have reduced the uncertainty associated with climate change impacts on maize productivity by improving the understanding of the relative contributions of individual factors and providing a better spatial comprehension of the key processes. We have identified water stress and water management systems as being key causes of the yield gap, and detected vulnerable regions where efforts in research and policy should be prioritized in order to increase maize productivity.R. Patrones dietéticos en pacientes asmáticos

Trabajo de fin de Grado. Grado en Enfermería (Zamora). Curso académico 2021-2022[ES] El asma es un problema de gran importancia sociosanitaria cuya prevalencia ha aumentado a lo largo de los años. Es una enfermedad crónica que afecta a la calidad de vida del individuo. Hay ciertos factores que pueden agravar o desencadenar el asma, y otros que producen beneficios, como es el caso de una dieta adecuada. Objetivos: Identificar la asociación entre los hábitos dietéticos con el desarrollo del asma y los efectos que producen durante el desarrollo de esta enfermedad. Material y método: Revisión bibliográfica sistematizada de estudios de los últimos 7 años sobre asma y hábitos dietéticos. Se seleccionan los estudios de mayor nivel de evidencia tras la lectura crítica y estableciendo niveles de evidencia y grados de recomendación del JBI. Análisis de datos mediante desarrollo narrativo y tablas de síntesis. Resultados: Se seleccionaron 21 estudios (9 revisiones sistemáticas, 5 ECAs, 2 meta-análisis, 1 GPC y 4 documentos de expertos) de un total de 147. A través de ellos, se han descrito alimentos que pueden afectar positiva o negativamente a los síntomas del asma o incluso al desarrollo de esta enfermedad. Discusión: Aunque se hayan visto los beneficios de ciertos alimentos, es necesaria la realización de estudios para determinar la eficacia de estas intervenciones. Conclusiones: No existe una dieta específica para reducir o prevenir el asma, aunque las vitaminas antioxidantes han demostrado un efecto beneficioso, al igual que la vitamina D. Las enfermeras tienen un papel importante en la educación del paciente para empoderarlo

La promoción de destinos turísticos a través del cine. Juego de Tronos en España = The promotion of tourist destinations through cinema. Game of Thrones in Spain

ES: El turismo cinematográfico ha comenzado a ganar importancia en los últimos años dada la influencia del sector audiovisual sobre la población. Cada vez son más los turistas que se mueven motivados por películas y series que han visto en la gran pantalla. El cine construye una imagen del destino mucho más consolidada que cualquier campaña de publicidad en redes sociales o cualquier anuncio televisivo. Es una de las formas de promoción con mayor alcance que existe porque: ¿Sería lo mismo Nueva York, París o Las Vegas sin el cine? Series como Juego de Tronos, han dejado sus frutos en cada uno de los países en los que han rodado. En España su influencia ha contribuido a un aumento exponencial del turismo, incluso bares y restaurantes se han beneficiado de este fenómeno, y es que el turismo cinematográfico genera un impacto antes, durante y después de las emisiones en el cine o la televisión

Analysis of user post-edited texts and a proposal for assistance through iSTS

In the present investigation, the way lay users employ machine translation (MT) systems has been studied. The benefits of applying these systems for the dissemination have been examined to limit the scope, and the Polish-Spanish language pair has been selected. Prior to analyzing the similarities and differences in the compositions that these users have created, with and without the assistance of MT, various state-of-the-art systems, along with their strengths and weaknesses, have been described. Moreover, some of the available MT evaluation methods that address those weak points have been presented. However, it is considered that there is still a gap when it comes to assisting lay users in post-editing. It is believed that interpretable semantic textual similarity (iSTS) could fill this void. Nevertheless, some refinements of its annotation guidelines might be necessary
