Review[Abstract] Background: Chemotherapy has relevant implications for cancer patients’ physical, social, and psychological health. Foot health has gained relevance in recent years due to its importance to independence and wellbeing, especially in chronic conditions. This study aims to explore the scope of the literature regarding foot health problems in people with cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: scoping review following the PRISMA-ScR, Arksey and O’Malley, and the Joanna Briggs Institute guidelines. Different databases were used (Cochrane Plus, Scopus, Web of Science, and Pubmed). A total of 4911 articles were identified. Finally, 11 papers were included. Results: Foot problems are relevant and deteriorate wellbeing. The prevalence of some podiatric pathologies is controversial. The main literature deals with hand–foot syndrome and peripheral neuropathy. Focused instruments on foot health were not thoroughly used. Conclusion: There is insufficient evidence on foot health problems and their influence on the quality of life of people with cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Even though a significant percentage of this population has a foot problem, its care and importance are neglected. More studies are needed to contribute to the care of people with cancer through foot health

[Abstract] Using a gamma probe, bulk density has been measured for nine profiles from 20 cm depth to depths ranging from 90 to 15Ocm. The intent ofthis work was to assesss total porosity variability withinand between sites at an area characterized by an abrupt textural change. Bulk density values obtained at both tertiary and quaternary subsoillayers are significantly higher and show less variability between sites and also more repeteability along the time than bulk density values obtained at the surface A and B soil horizons. In addition, Hg intrusion porosimetry demonstrated a decrease of the average pore diameter with depth and thus with age of the soil and sediement materials

This article is the English translation of the one already published in Spanish in 2018: González-Sanmamed, M., Sangrà, A., Souto-Seijo, A., & Estévez, I. (2018). Publicaciones, 48(1), 25-45. Doi:10.30827/publicaciones.v48i1.7329[Abstract] The immersion of society in the digital age has decisively influenced people’s ways of behaving, in the field of work, economy, entertainment and teaching. Higher education is undergoing a great transformation due to the technological development in which we are immersed, and these continuous changes have shown the need to keep us updated permanently, thus adopting the idea of life-long learning. Each person and each professional has a wide and diverse range of possibilities to be trained and to learn, which requires individuals to take more and more control over their own learning process. The concept of learning ecologies provides a framework of analysis to know how we learn, and what contexts and/or elements we use to train ourselves, in order to provide us with new learning opportunities. Being aware of the elements and / or contexts that make up our learning ecologies can be a very useful strategy to help us update ourselves in a self-directed and effective way. This has led us to carry out a bibliographic study aimed at identifying some of the aspects that characterize the new ways in which we learn, which will allow us to understand the role that the university should play in today’s society.[Resumen] La inmersión de la sociedad en la era digital ha influido de manera decisiva en las formas de comportarse de las personas, en el ámbito del trabajo, de la economía, del entretenimiento y de la enseñanza. This article was written within the framework of the research project entitled: “Cómo aprenden los mejores docentes universitarios en la era digital: impacto de las ecologías de aprendizaje en la calidad de la docencia (How the Best University Professors Learn in the Digital Age: The Impact of Learning Ecologies on Teaching Quality) (ECO4LEARN-HE), partially funded by MINECO (Reference EDU2015-67907-R). [Abstract] Objectives: Determine the concordance between two methods of obtaining the plantar footprint (pedigraph and pressure platform). Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional, observational study of prevalence was carried out in the social center of Cariño (Coruña), Spain (n = 65 participants). Older people without amputations or the presence of dysmetria were included. The variables studied were: sociodemographic (age, sex), anthropometric (body mass index) and footprint measurement variables. These measurements were made by obtaining the plantar footprint using two methods: pedigraph and pressure platform. Results: The mean age of the sample was 37.42 ± 15.05 years, with a predominance of the female gender (61.54%). Positive linear correlation between pedigraph and platform was observed in both feet in the Chippaux and Staheli indices (correlation coefficient > 0.3, p < 0.001 in each comparison). The reliability was good or moderate in relation with the Chippaux and Staheli index. Slightly lower coefficients were observed in the dimensions of the foot. Conclusions: A positive linear correlation between pedigraph and platform was observed in both feet in the Chippaux and Staheli indices. Significant differences were observed between pedigraph and platform in relation to the width and length of the foot. It is probably due to the fact that the pressure platform provides more exhaustive, detailed and accurate information of the foot. This study analyses the extent to which faculty use the technological resources that make up their Learning Ecologies to encourage their teacher professional development. The interest of this research is the growing impact of Learning Ecologies as a framework to examine the multiple learning opportunities provided by the complex digital landscape. Global data referred to the use of technological resources grouped in three dimensions (Access, Search and Information Management resources, Creation and Content Editing resources, and Interaction and Communication resources) has been identified. In addition, the influence of different variables such as gender, age, years of teaching experience and the branch of knowledge were also examined. The methodology used has been quantitative through a survey. The sample consisted of 1,652 faculty belonging to 50 Spanish universities. To meet the aim of the study, descriptive and inferential analysis (ANOVA) were carried out. On the one hand, it is noted a moderate use of technological resources for professional development and, on the other hand, significant differences are observed on all variables analysed. The results warn of the need to promote, both at individual and institutional level, more enriched Learning Ecologies, in such a way that each teacher can take better advantage of the learning opportunities, provided by the networked society

[Abstract] Background: Neonatal pain has been underdiagnosed due to several false beliefs. Aim: To determine the status of neonatal pain in newborns who are admitted to intensive care units. Methods: Different databases were searched. Literature reviews and research reports conducted in newborns that were written in English, Spanish, or Portuguese, published between 2010 and 2020, and having free access to the full text were selected. A total of 135 articles were found, and 18 articles were finally reviewed. Results: Newborns are exposed to numerous painful procedures. In order to assess their pain levels, several scales have been used, although they are sometimes not correctly interpreted. In terms of pain management, the nursing team plays a very important role based mainly on both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. Conclusion: Nursing staff members must be well trained in order to identify pain and to interpret the scales correctly. Besides, they have an important role in performing non-pharmacological procedures for pain management
