El sobrepeso y la obesidad se han convertido en una epidemia, ocasionando varios problemas de salud pública como diabetes tipo 2, hipertensión, algunos tipos de cáncer y miles de decesos. Las creencias son ideas y percepciones de un grupo social sobre cuáles alimentos son saludables o no saludables y éstas pueden dar la pauta para guiar la conducta alimentaria. En éste estudio se abordan a las creencias sobre desayuno saludable y no saludable de mujeres con sobrepeso u obesidad en localidades rural y urbana.Objetivo: Identificar diferencias entre las creencias de episodios de desayuno saludable y no saludable, reportadas por mujeres adultas con sobrepeso y obesidad en localidades rural y urbana

The use of vacuum-assisted wound closure to enhance skin graft acceptance in a horse

A 16-year-old horse was admitted to the clinic of the Department of Surgery and Anesthesiology of Domestic Animals of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Ghent University) for the treatment of a very large, non-healing wound extending over the dorsomedial and dorsolateral aspects of the left metatarsus. Surgical debridement of exuberant granulation tissue and new bone was performed under general anesthesia, followed by standard wound care under a bandage. Once a new bed of healthy granulation had formed, skin grafting was performed using the punch graft method. Due to the presence of a significant amount of wound exudate, cast immobilization was considered to be contraindicated. Instead, vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy was used as a method of securing the skin grafts to the wound bed during the first days post-operatively. After five days of VAC therapy, the wound dressing was removed and an acceptance of nearly 100% of the punch grafts was observed. Complete epithelialization of the wound was evident 42 days after skin grafting. As far as the authors know, this is the first report describing the use of VAC therapy as a method of wound management in combination with punch grafting on the distal limb of a horse

High resolution imaging of NGC 2346 with GSAOI/GeMS: disentangling the planetary nebula molecular structure to understand its origin and evolution

We present high spatial resolution ($\approx$ 60--90 milliarcseconds) images of the molecular hydrogen emission in the Planetary Nebula (PN) NGC 2346. The data were acquired during the System Verification of the Gemini Multi-Conjugate Adaptive Optics System + Gemini South Adaptive Optics Imager. At the distance of NGC 2346, 700 pc, the physical resolution corresponds to $\approx$ 56 AU, which is slightly higher than that an [N II] image of NGC 2346 obtained with HST/WFPC2. With this unprecedented resolution we were able to study in detail the structure of the H$_2$ gas within the nebula for the first time. We found it to be composed of knots and filaments, which at lower resolution had appeared to be a uniform torus of material. We explain how the formation of the clumps and filaments in this PN is consistent with a mechanism in which a central hot bubble of nebular gas surrounding the central star has been depressurized, and the thermal pressure of the photoionized region drives the fragmentation of the swept-up shell.Comment: accepted in ApJ (17 pages, 7 figures, 1 Table

Less interested in writing into the center of violent acts, this series of poems aims instead to consider all the things – both physical and psychological – that exist of the edges of violence.
