An updated biostratigraphy for the late Aragonian and Vallesian of the Vallès-Penedès Basin (Catalonia)
The Vallès-Penedès Basin (Catalonia, Spain) is a classical area for the study of the Miocene land mammal faunas and includes one of the densest and most continuous records in Eurasia. Furthermore, it is the type area for the Vallesian European land mammal age. After decades of study a huge amount of bio- and magnetostratigraphic data have been collected, allowing an unprecedented dating accuracy. Here we provide an updated local biostratigraphy for the late Aragonian, Vallesian and Turolian of the Vallès-Penedès Basin. This new biostratigraphic scheme is almost exclusively based on fossil rodents, which are the most abundant and one of the best known mammal orders in the area. Our proposal represents a significant refinement compared to previous attempts and provides a formal diagnosis and description of each zone, as well as clear definition of boundaries and a reference locality and section. The chronology of zone boundaries and main bioevents is based on detailed magnetostratigraphic data. The defined biozones allow for the correlation of the sites without associated magnetostratigraphical data. Finally, the correlation of the Vallès-Penedès local zones with other detailed local biostratigraphies, such as those of the Calatayud-Montalbán and Teruel basins (east-central Spain) is discussed. The sequence and chronology of the main bioevents is roughly comparable, although the rodent succession and the structure of the assemblage show important differences between these areas

Bibliometric analysis in paediatric dental journals listed in journal citation reports. Current trends
Aim The aim of this study was to analyse articles published
in paediatric dental journals included in Journal Citation Reports
(JCR), to determine current trends in paediatric publishing.
Methods Articles included in paediatric dentistry journals
in 2020 JCR were selected, published during the period 2008–
2020. After applying inclusion criteria, author-based parameters
(article title, first author’s name, institution, sex and number of
authors, number of affiliations, first/last author’s origin and
geographic origin), and article-based parameters (article type,
main topic, research design) were registered for each article.
Results A total of 3,027 articles were analysed. The
percentage of female authors showed an increasing positive
tendency over the decade and the top producing country was
the USA (16.5%). Dental surgery was the most recurrent topic
(23.4%). Regarding the origin of the first author’s affiliation, 51%
proceeded from the paediatric dentistry departments belonging
to public institutions, with a decreasing trend in non-academic/
private affiliations. Positive and negative correlations exist
between citation count and other variables.
Conclusions International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry,
Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry, European Journal of
Paediatric Dentistry and Pediatric Dentistry were the four main
journals in terms of production volume, USA being the most
productive country. The most recurrent topic was dental surgery,
and the most common design was observational studies. Study
design, geographic origin of the articles, article type and main
subject of the article might predict citation.Odontologí

Shape-resonant superconductivity in nanofilms: from weak to strong coupling
Ultrathin superconductors of different materials are becoming a powerful
platform to find mechanisms for enhancement of superconductivity, exploiting
shape resonances in different superconducting properties. Here we evaluate the
superconducting gap and its spatial profile, the multiple gap components, and
the chemical potential, of generic superconducting nanofilms, considering the
pairing attraction and its energy scale as tunable parameters, from weak to
strong coupling, at fixed electron density. Superconducting properties are
evaluated at mean field level as a function of the thickness of the nanofilm,
in order to characterize the shape resonances in the superconducting gap. We
find that the most pronounced shape resonances are generated for weakly coupled
superconductors, while approaching the strong coupling regime the shape
resonances are rounded by a mixing of the subbands due to the large energy gaps
extending over large energy scales. Finally, we find that the spatial profile,
transverse to the nanofilm, of the superconducting gap acquires a flat behavior
in the shape resonance region, indicating that a robust and uniform multigap

The high-energy emission from HD 93129A near periastron
We conducted an observational campaign towards one of the most massive and luminous colliding wind binaries in the Galaxy, HD~93129A, close to its periastron passage in 2018. During this time the source was predicted to be in its maximum of high-energy emission. Here we present our data analysis from the X-ray satellites \textit{Chandra} and \textit{NuSTAR} and the γ-ray satellite \textit{AGILE}. High-energy emission coincident with HD~93129A was detected in the X-ray band up to ∼18~keV, whereas in the γ-ray band only upper limits were obtained. We interpret the derived fluxes using a non-thermal radiative model for the wind-collision region. We establish a conservative upper limit for the fraction of the wind kinetic power that is converted into relativistic electron acceleration, fNT,e0.3~G. We also argue a putative interpretation of the emission from which we estimate fNT,e≈0.006 and BWCR≈0.5~G. We conclude that multi-wavelength, dedicated observing campaigns during carefully selected epochs are a powerful tool for characterising the relativistic particle content and magnetic field intensity in colliding wind binaries
