We study the relationship between the design of accounting laws for thirty Mexican state governments and their public finances. We use two indexes and OLS regressions to analyze it. The first index assesses the quality of the design of the state accounting laws (Figueroa, 2005; Garc´ýa, 2007). The second index assesses the fiscal situation per state for the years 2000 and 2005 (Aregional, 2004). We find that the fiscal situation of Mexican states can be explained by a two-year old design in the law. English Teachers’ Professional Development for Guiding the English Learning Process in Inclusive Classrooms

Esta investigación surge de la reflexión sobre el desempeño de la enseñanza del inglés para la enseñanza del inglés en aulas inclusivas que tienen estudiantes con discapacidad auditiva. Este estudio de investigación puede ayudar (EFL) a los profesores de inglés como lengua extranjera a facilitar las clases de inglés para estudiantes con discapacidades auditivas en una clase inclusiva. Posteriormente, los estudiantes con discapacidades auditivas pueden recibir ayuda en su proceso de aprendizaje como consecuencia de la conciencia de los docentes en la revisión de la planificación de la clase para crear un entorno inclusivo y existente y significativo. La metodología de investigación que se utilizó en el presente estudio fue la investigación cualitativa. El investigador utilizó la metodología de investigación cualitativa para observar, describir e interpretar actividades y situaciones sobre el desarrollo profesional de los profesores de inglés para guiar el proceso de aprendizaje de inglés en aulas inclusivas. Se creó una propuesta pedagógica sostenida en los talleres aplicados a la pedagogía como modelo de enseñanza y aprendizaje, lo que promueve un tiempo de reflexión relacionado con las prácticas actuales de los profesores de inglés en aulas inclusivas. Después de la implementación de los talleres surgieron algunos hallazgos significativos. Por ejemplo, los profesores de inglés promovieron el aprendizaje cooperativo como una estrategia de enseñanza exitosa que aprovecha las diferencias de los estudiantes. Por lo tanto, todos en la clase pueden aprovechar la diversidad. Como resultado de la implementación de los talleres, los profesores de inglés planificaron cambios en las metodologías actuales de enseñanza del inglés, es decir, los profesores de inglés centraron sus metodologías de enseñanza a través de las exposiciones y la fluidez en la comunicación que el aprendizaje de las reglas gramaticales. En consecuencia, los resultados del presente estudio pueden proporcionar información fundamental para el desarrollo profesional de los profesores de inglés en relación con la implementación de diferentes estrategias en el aula que pueden facilitar el aprendizaje de los alumnos D / HH en un contexto de integración o inclusivo. De esta manera, los estudiantes de D / HH pueden avanzar en su proceso de aprendizaje como consecuencia de la conciencia de los maestros en la adaptación de la planificación de la clase para crear un entorno de investigación real y significativo.This research emerges from the reflection about English-teaching performance for teaching English in inclusive classrooms that have hearing impaired students. This research study can help (EFL) English as foreign language teachers to ease English classes to hearing impaired students in an inclusive class. Subsequently, hearing impaired students can be aided in their learning process as a consequence of teachers‘ consciousness in the revision of the class planning in order to create and existent and meaningful inclusive environment. The research methodology that was used in the current study was qualitative research. The researcher used the qualitative research methodology to observe, describe, and interpret activities and situations about English teachers‘ professional development for guiding the English learning process in inclusive classrooms. A pedagogical proposal was created sustained in the workshops applied to the pedagogy as a model of teaching and learning, this promote a reflection time related to English teachers‘ current practices in inclusive classrooms. After the implementation of the workshops emerged some significant findings. For instance, the teachers of English promoted cooperative learning as a successful teaching strategy that takes advantage of students‘ differences. Therefore, everyone in the class can take advantage of diversity. As a result of the implementation of the workshops the teachers of English, planned changes in the current English teaching methodologies, namely, the teachers of English focused their teaching methodologies through the expositions and fluency communication than the learning of grammar rules. Consequently, the results of the present study can provide fundamental information for English teacher‘s professional development concerning the implementation of different classroom strategies that can facilitate D/HH students learning in an integration or inclusive context. In this way, D/HH learners can advance in their learning process as a consequence of the teachers` awareness in the adaptation of class planning in order to create a real and meaningful research environment

Nanoclustering as a dominant feature of plasma membrane organization

Early studies have revealed that some mammalian plasma membrane proteins exist in small nanoclusters. The advent of super-resolution microscopy has corroborated and extended this picture, and led to the suggestion that many, if not most, membrane proteins are clustered at the plasma membrane at nanoscale lengths. In this Commentary, we present selected examples of glycosylphosphatidyl-anchored proteins, Ras family members and several immune receptors that provide evidence for nanoclustering. We advocate the view that nanoclustering is an important part of the hierarchical organization of proteins in the plasma membrane. According to this emerging picture, nanoclusters can be organized on the mesoscale to form microdomains that are capable of supporting cell adhesion, pathogen binding and immune cell-cell recognition amongst other functions. Yet, a number of outstanding issues concerning nanoclusters remain open, including the details of their molecular composition, biogenesis, size, stability, function and regulation. Notions about these details are put forth and suggestions are made about nanocluster function and why this general feature of protein nanoclustering appears to be so prevalent.Postprint (published version

DIAGNÓSTICO DEL CLIMA ORGANIZACIONAL EN UNA EMPRESA DE ENTRETENIMIENTO Y DISEÑO DE UN PROGRAMA DE INTERVENCIÓN

La finalidad de esta investigación fue encontrar las áreas de mejora, para el diseño de un programa de intervención, y en su momento la empresa decida la implementación de dicho programa, fundamentado en el marco teórico del presente trabajo de investigación, en el cual se describen algunos aspectos de la organización tales como liderazgo, motivación, cultura organizacional, comportamiento organizacional y satisfacción laboral, todo esto relacionado a la importancia del clima organizacional. GOVERNANCE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN LATIN AMERICA: SOME STYLIZED FACTS AND RELATIONS

Some stylized facts and relations appear between the governance andthe economic growth in Latin America. The principal indings suggestthat: 1) In the region, the worst perception recounts to the indicator Ruleof Law; nevertheless, this indicator is the one that best explains governanceat aggregated level; 2) the indicators Voice and accountability,Rule of law and Control of corruption have relationship with the form ofinverted U growth; and 3) the indicators Stability - politics, GovernmentalEficacy and Regulative Quality have linear and positive relations withthe growth. Photodegradation of nimodipine and felodipine in microheterogeneous systems

Indexación: Web of Science; ScieloThe photochemical behavior of nimodipine (NIMO) and felodipine (FELO), photolabile drugs widely used as antihypertensive calcium channel blockers, is studied in constrained media. Specifically, we are interested in the kinetic analysis of 4-aryl-1,4-dihydropyridine photodegradation processes when they are incorporated in biological-mimicking systems like micelles or liposomes. In order to establish if the nature of the head of surfactant (ionic or nonionic) could be important modulating the photo-reactivity of these drugs, we studied the photodegradation of NIMO and FELO incorporated in micelles formed with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS, anionic), dodecyl-pyridinium chloride (DPC, cationic) and mono lauryl sucrose ester (MLS, nonionic) as surfactants. Additionally, the results of the photodegradation of these compounds in liposomes were also included. The results clearly indicate that both dihydropyridines studied, NIMO and FELO, are located near to the interface, but the surface charge of micelles does not affect neither, the photodegradation rate constant nor the photodegradation products profile. The absence of singlet oxygen generation in micellar media is consistent with the proposition of these 4-aryl-1,4-dihidropyridines located near to the interface of the micelle, where a polar environment is sensed. In addition, the ethanol preferential location on membranes and dihydropyridine enhanced photodegradation by alcohol presence are interesting results to consider in future research.http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0717-97072012000300025&nrm=is

On the Authentic Notion, Relevance, and Solution of the Jeffreys-Lindley Paradox in the Zettabyte Era

The Jeffreys-Lindley paradox is the most quoted divergence between the frequentist and Bayesian approaches to statistical inference. It is embedded in the very foundations of statistics and divides frequentist and Bayesian inference in an irreconcilable way. El pensamiento social en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del concepto de tutela en niños y niñas del grado cuarto

En el proceso educativo, las ciencias sociales tienen como objetivo que los ciudadanos se formen como sujetos en y para la vida, participando activamente con una consciencia crítica, que permita alcanzar una comprensión de la realidad para transformar la sociedad Lineamientos Curriculares, (2009). A partir de estas consideraciones se plantea la siguiente pregunta de investigación: ¿Qué Habilidades del Pensamiento Social (HPS) se identifican en una secuencia didáctica en la enseñanza y aprendizaje del mecanismo de participación ciudadana (La Tutela) apoyada con el uso de las TIC con los estudiantes del grado cuarto de la Institución Educativa Hugo Ángel Jaramillo de la ciudad de Pereira?. Con el objetivo de describir las (HPS) planeadas e identificadas en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje, a través de una reflexión teórica que guía el problema de investigación, abarcando varios autores. Este proceso se sustenta sobre las prácticas educativas en el aula, y se ubica en un enfoque cuantitativo descriptivo, con el cual se pretende profundizar en un fenómeno social, en el contexto mismo y por medio del estudio de caso (Yin, 2005; Stake, 1999) de modo que permita analizar e interpretar la realidad en un ámbito natural, habitual e incluyendo las TIC. Es así como el análisis de la información se realiza en tres momentos; primero se identifican las HPS que poseen los estudiantes, en una previa planeación; segundo pretende identificar las HPS que aún no evidencian los estudiantes utilizando diversas actividades planeadas y organizadas desde la unidad didáctica y finalmente contrastar lo planeado con lo identificado, para evidenciar si el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las HPS fueron afianzadas por los estudiantes, obteniendo como resultado el aporte al conocimiento y a la formación de los entes involucrados, además de proporcionar a docentes en ciencias sociales apoyos para el mejoramiento de las prácticas educativas en el área.In the educational process, social sciences have the aim to form citizens as subjects in and for life, actively participating with a critical awareness that achieves an understanding of reality to transform society Curriculum Guidelines, (2009). From these considerations it raises the research questions: What Social Thinking Skills (HPS) develop a teaching sequence in the teaching and learning of the mechanism citizen participation (guardianship) supported with the use of ICT with fourth grade students of School Hugo Angel Jaramillo Pereira city? In order to interpret (HPS), this is developed in the teaching and learning process, through theoretical reflection that guides the research problem, encompassing several authors. This process is based on the educational practices in the classroom, and is located in a descriptive quantitative approach, which aims to get deep in a social phenomenon in the context itself and through case study (Yin, 2005, Stake, 1999) so as to analyze and interpret reality in a natural and usual environment including ICT. Thus, the data analysis is done in three stages, first identify the HPS that students possess in a prior planning, the second step is to develop not yet evident HPS students using various activities planned and organized from the unit didactic and finally contrast what is planned whit what is developed to show whether or not the teaching and learning of HPS were entrenched by students, obtaining as a result the contribution to knowledge and training in the communities involved, and provide science teachers a social support for the improvement of educational practices in the area
