Privacy and location-aware service discovery for mobile and ubiquitous systems

Wireless networks play a major role in allowing the deployment of ubiquitous distributed systems. In these networks, service discovery should not only allow finding available networked services, but should also take into account the physical proximity of the entities requesting these services. However, physical proximity is not a sufficient criteria for service search and selection, as close attention should be paid to privacy issues. Efecto de las estatinas en la regulación de miRNA en hepatoma

[ES] En el presente estudio se han analizado los niveles de expresión de diferentes microRNA (miR-122, miR-33a y miR-27b) en células tanto hepáticas (HepG2) como pancreáticas (PANC-1) en respuesta al tratamiento con estatinas de tipo 1 (sinvastatina y pravastatina) y tipo 2 (atorvastatina y rosuvastatina) durante 24 y 48 horas. De esta forma, se pretende establecer una relación entre la sobreexpresión de los miRNA provocada por el tratamiento con estatinas y los posibles efectos secundarios asociados a dicho tratamiento como puede ser diabetes mellitus tipo 2.[EN] In this study, the expression levels of some different miRNAs (miR-122, miR-33a and miR-27b) both in hepatic (HepG2) and pancreatic cells (PANC-1) under treatment of type 1 statins (simvastatin and pravastatin) and type 2 (atorvastatin and rosuvastatin) for 24 and 48 hours have been analyzed. New Records of green (Chlorophyta) and brown algae (Phaeophyta) for Cabezo Reef, National Park Sistema Arrecifal Veracruzano, Gulf of Mexico

Descriptions of 13 green and 12 brown algal species from 20 genera and 15 families collected on Cabezo Reef of the National Park Sistema Arrecifal Veracruzano in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, which are new records for the reef, are given. The species belong to the chlorophyte genera Caulerpa, Cladophoropsis, Codium, Dictyosphaeria, Ernodesmis, Halimeda, Neomeris, Parvocaulis, Percursaria and Rhipocephalus and the phaeophycean genera Canistrocarpus, Colpomenia, Cladosiphon, Dictyerpa, Dictyota, Ectocarpus, Padina, Rosenvingea, Sargassum and Sphacelaria. The family Dictyotaceae contained the largest number of species (6). The descriptions include morphometric and biological data and are accompanied by photographs and line drawings for each species. Data on the geographic distribution in the State of Veracruz, park and the Gulf of Mexico in general are also given. Percursaria percursa is a new record for the park, while Dictyerpa jamaicensis, Sargassum furcatum, Caulerpa racemosa var. occidentalis and Codium isthmocladum subsp. clavatum are new records for the State of Veracruz. Most of the specimens of Chlorophyta were found in the vegetative stage, whereas all the brown algal species except Dictyerpa jamaicensis and Sphacelaria rigidula possessed gametangia or sporangia.Se presentan las descripciones de 13 especies de algas verdes y 12 de algas pardas de 20 géneros y 15 familias, que son nuevos registros para el arrecife Cabezo ubicado en la parte sureste del Parque Nacional Sistema Arrecifal Veracruzano en el suroeste del Golfo de México. Las especies pertenecen a los géneros de clorofitas Caulerpa, Cladophoropsis, Codium, Dictyosphaeria, Ernodesmis, Halimeda, Neomeris, Parvocaulis, Percursaria y Rhipocephalus, y los géneros de algas pardas Canistrocarpus, Colpomenia, Cladosiphon, Dictyerpa, Dictyota, Ectocarpus, Padina, Rosenvingea, Sargassum y Sphacelaria. La familia Dictyotaceae fue la mejor representada en cuanto al número de especies (6). Las descripciones incluyen datos morfométricos y biológicos y están acompañadas con fotografías y dibujos a línea para cada especie. También se presenta la información sobre la distribución de las especies en el estado de Veracruz, el parque y el Golfo de México en general. Percursaria percursa es un nuevo registro para el parque, mientras Dictyerpa jamaicensis, Sargassum furcatum, Caulerpa racemosa var. occidentalis y Codium isthmocladum subsp. clavatum lo son para el estado de Veracruz. La mayor proporción de ejemplares pertenecientes a Chlorophyta se encontraron en estado vegetativo, mientras que los especímenes de algas pardas excluyendo a las especies Dictyerpa jamaicensis y Sphacelaria rigidula, se encontraron ya sea con gametangios o esporangios

This paper, based on ethnographic and documentary work, presents an overview of the political conflict that arose in Huexca, Morelos, México, regarding the construction of a thermoelectric plant. The failure to consult the local population generated internal dynamics that divided the population between those who sympathized with the project and those who did not, which has resulted to date in the impossibility of the plant's operation. In addition, this division is a perverse by-product of the implementation of large infrastructure projects, if there is no effective consultation to reaffirm and unify populations in their acceptance or rejection.El presente trabajo, basado en trabajo etnográfico y documental, expone un panorama general del conflicto político surgido en Huexca, Morelos, México, a propósito de la construcción en la comunidad de una planta termoeléctrica, que alcanza más de una decada de confrontación. El no consultar a la población local, generó dinámicas internas que dividieron a la población entre los que simpatizaban con el proyecto y los que no, lo que ha derivado a la fecha, en la imposibilidad del funcionamiento de la planta. Adicionalmente, esta división es un subproducto perverso de la implantación de grandes proyectos de infraestructura, por la falta de una consulta eficaz que reafirme y unifique a las poblaciones en su aceptación o rechaz
