Focused and collimated Gaussian laser beam scintillation in weakly turbulent marine atmospheric medium
The scintillation index on the axis for Gaussian beams focused and collimated in weak marine turbulence is formulated via the usage of Rytov method. The average bit error rate is evaluated using this formulation. The scintillation index and versus propagation distance and source size are determined by using the log-normal distributed. Intensity for the collimated and focused. Gaussian beams, which are exhibited for wavelength, source size, focal length, and . The focused beams are revealing more advantageous than collimated beams in an atmospheric marine environment. The findings of this study are significant for optical communication system performance in this layer
The Coupled Modified Korteweg-de Vries Equations
Generalization of the modified KdV equation to a multi-component system, that
is expressed by , is studied. We apply a new extended version of the inverse
scattering method to this system. It is shown that this system has an infinite
number of conservation laws and multi-soliton solutions. Further, the initial
value problem of the model is solved.Comment: 26 pages, LaTex209 file, uses jpsj.st
Important pharmacogenetic information for drugs prescribed during the SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID-19)
In December 2019, the severe acute respiratory syndrome virus-2 pandemic began, causing the coronavirus disease 2019. A vast variety of drugs is being used off-label as potential therapies. Many of the repurposed drugs have clinical pharmacogenetic guidelines available with therapeutic recommendations when prescribed as indicated on the drug label. The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive summary of pharmacogenetic biomarkers available for these drugs, which may help to prescribe them more safelyM.N.-G. is co-financed by the European Social Fund and

Diagnostic approach of tuberculous lymphadenitis in a multicenter study
Introduction: Tuberculous lymphadenitis (TBLN) is the most common infectious etiology of peripheral lymphadenopathy in adults, in Turkiye. This study aimed to identify the demographic, clinical, and laboratory variables that differentiate TBLN from non-tuberculous lymphadenitis (NTBLN), as well as the etiology of lymphadenopathy in adults. Methodology: Patients who were over 18 years old and were referred to the infectious disease outpatient clinics with complaints of swollen peripheral lymph nodes, and who underwent lymph node biopsy between 1 January 2010 and 1 March 2021, were included in this multicenter, nested case-control study. Results: A total of 812 patients at 17 tertiary teaching and research hospitals in Turkiye were included in the study. TBLN was the most frequent diagnosis (53.69%). The proportion of patients diagnosed with TBLN was higher among females; and among those who had a higher erythrocyte sedimentation rate, positive purified protein derivative test, and positive interferon-gamma release test result (p < 0.05). However, TBLN was less frequent among patients with generalized lymphadenopathy, bilateral lymphadenopathy, axillary lymphadenopathy, inguinal lymphadenopathy, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, leukocytosis, and moderately increased C reactive protein levels (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Identifying the variables that predict TBLN or discriminate TBLN from NTBLN will help clinicians establish optimal clinical strategies for the diagnosis of adult lymphadenopathy
Modelling UK house prices with structural breaks and conditional variance analysis
This paper differs from previous research by examining the existence of structural breaks in the UK regional house prices as well as in the prices of the different property types (flats, terraced, detached and semi-detached houses) in the UK as a whole, motivated by the uncertainty in the UK housing market and various financial events that may lead to structural changes within the housing market. Our paper enhances the conventional unit root tests by allowing for structural breaks, while including structural break tests strengthens our analysis. Our empirical results support the existence of structural breaks in the mean equation in seven out of thirteen regions of the UK as well as in three out of four property types, and in the variance equation in six regions and three property types. In addition, using a multivariate GARCH approach we examine both the behaviour of variances and covariances of the house price returns over time. Our results have significant implications for appropriate economic policy selection and investment management
Reconciling the stratigraphy and depositional history of the Lycian orogen-top basins, SW Anatolia
Terrestrial fossil records from the SW Anatolian basins are crucial both for regional correlations and palaeoenvironmental reconstructions. By reassessing biostratigraphic constraints and incorporating new fossil data, we calibrated and reconstructed the late Neogene and Quaternary palaeoenvironments within a regional palaeogeographical framework. The culmination of the Taurides in SW Anatolia was followed by a regional crustal extension from the late Tortonian onwards that created a broad array of NE-trending orogen-top basins with synchronic associations of alluvial fan, fluvial and lacustrine deposits. The terrestrial basins are superimposed on the upper Burdigalian marine units with a c. 7 myr of hiatus that corresponds to a shift from regional shortening to extension. The initial infill of these basins is documented by a transition from marginal alluvial fans and axial fluvial systems into central shallow-perennial lakes coinciding with a climatic shift from warm/humid to arid conditions. The basal alluvial fan deposits abound in fossil macro-mammals of an early Turolian (MN11–12; late Tortonian) age. The Pliocene epoch in the region was punctuated by subhumid/humid conditions resulting in a rise of local base levels and expansion of lakes as evidenced by marsh-swamp deposits containing diverse fossil mammal assemblages indicating late Ruscinian (late MN15; late Zanclean) age. A second pulse of extension, accompanied by regional climatic changes, prompted subsequent deepening of the lakes as manifested by thick and laterally extensive carbonate successions. These lakes, which prevailed c. 1 myr, later shrank due to renewed progradation of alluvial fans and eventually filled up and dried out, reflected by marsh-swamp deposits at the top of a complete lacustrine succession that contains diverse micro-mammal assemblages indicating a latest Villanyian (MN17; Gelasian) age. A third pulse of tectonic reorganisation and associated extension dissected the basins into their present-day configuration from the early Pleistocene onwards under warm/humid climatic conditions. The new age data provide means to correlate deposits across various basins in the region that help to place the basin development into a regional tectonic framework, which can be attributed to the consequence of the well-articulated regional phenomena of slab-tear/detachment-induced uplift followed by crustal extension and basin formation (late Tortonian), the outward extension of the Aegean arc (early Pliocene) and eventually accompanied by westward extrusion of the Anatolian Plate (early Pleistocene)

Experimental examination of effects of punch angle and clearance on shearing force and estimation of shearing force using fuzzy logic
A significant challenge faced when using blanking/piercing to machine sheet metal is the handling of the shearing force required for high strength and thick stock. Increased shearing forces lead to the requirement of higher performance expected from the pressing machine and result in increased wear on the punch tool and die. Clearance, employed to increase precision and quality in blanking/piercing operations, affects the shearing force as well. One of the techniques used to reduce the force required is the employment of a punch shear angle. In this study, the effects of punch shear angle and clearance on the forces required for blanking/piercing were examined on a grade of steel broadly used in the manufacturing industry, DC01. Experiments were carried out using five different punch shear angles, namely 0°, 2°, 4°, 8°, and 16°. Six matrices with varying clearance rates (0.4%t, 0.5%t, 0.6%t, 0.7%t, 0.8%t, and 0.9%t) were used in this study, and these clearances were altered by modular matrices on the die. This study shows that shearing forces can be reduced by 80% when 16° punch angle is used. The results of the experiments were transferred to a fuzzy logic model to obtain extrapolated results for intermediate values which had not been obtained from the experiments. The results obtained from the experiments and the output from the fuzzy logic model were compared and found to be highly similar. These results have showed that the model developed using fuzzy logic can be used to determine different shear angles and clearance values
