Uno de los desarrollos tecnológicos está relacionado con el diseño de aplicaciones específicas para la lectura en la pantalla del ordenador, son las llamadas aplicaciones de lectura web. En este artículo, tras definir qué son las aplicaciones de lectura web se explican los objetivos y el proceso seguido para la selección, definición y sistematización de los parámetros que servirán para la evaluación de las aplicaciones de lectura web

Children and Apps: Learning to read and write digitally

La lectoescritura es uno de los aprendizajes fundamentales en la etapa escolar, y uno de los retos más importantes de los maestros. Para ello se pueden utilizar diferentes metodologías, materiales y recursos entre los cuales están las aplicaciones móviles que pueden favorecer que los niños aprendan a leer y escribir de forma sencilla, divertida e interactiva, permitiendo a los más pequeños iniciarse en esta competencia de una forma lúdica. Dado que los profesores necesitan conocer estos desarrollos, el artículo analiza las características relativas a sistema operativo, modelos de negocio, tendencias más significativas, metodología utilizada, etc. y propone una clasificación de las aplicaciones destinadas al aprendizaje de la lectura y la escritura

20 años de premios de ilustración infantil y juvenil en España

[EN]In recent decades, illustration in children’s and young adults’ books has become especially important as a communicative and educational element. This has led to a proliferation of illustrated books and albums, as well as to an increase in the number of prizes and awards for them. This development has given the figure of the illustrator greater prominence and serves as an instrument for promotion and visibility, as well as a stimulus to production. Accordingly, the objective of this article is to set out the characteristics of Spanish children’s and young adults’ book awards focused on illustration within the 2000–2020 period, indicating their chronology, their organizers, the illustrators who have received the most awards, the thematic categories that are most commonly represented and the prize types and sums awarded to winners. To this end, a list of 103 Spanish children’s and young adults’ literature awards was compiled; 22 of these are specifically for illustration. The conclusion was reached that Spanish publishers are opting for illustrated books and albums that they themselves have produced. It was also found that such awards have consolidated over time, are normally of an institutional nature and offer small financial sums. Moreover, all kinds of thematic categories are represented in these awards, though fictional prose works clearly predominate, and within this category, awards most commonly go to illustrated albums

Perceived competence of experienced physical education teachers about the task as a didactic resource

El estudio que se presenta en el presente artículo trata de conocer la percepción del profesorado sobre su propia competencia referida al conocimiento del contenido y a la tarea como herramienta didáctica. En el estudio participaron un total de 173 docentes en Educación Física que realizan su función en las etapas de Primaria y Secundaria en 9 Comunidades Autónomas. Para la obtención de información cumplimentaron un cuestionario, realizándose, asimismo, un análisis audiovisual de 10 clases previamente grabadas. Los resultados muestran que los docentes, independientemente de la etapa educativa en la que imparten su docencia, de los años de experiencia docente y del tipo de tarea, buscan que el alumnado participe (con un sentido más lúdico o deportivo según la etapa educativa) de forma organizada y manteniendo las normas establecidas, no observándose modificaciones o ajustes de los modelos previamente verbalizados y/o ejemplificados.The study presented in this article attempts to comprehend the perception of teachers about their own competence in terms of knowledge of content and tasks as a teaching tool. The study included 173 physical education teachers while performing their role in Primary and Secondary stages in 9 autonomous regions. Information was obtained from a questionnaire, and analysis was carried out on 10 previously recorded classes. The results show that teachers, independently of the educational stage which is taught, years of teaching experience and type of task that students seeking to participate (with a more playful or sport as an educational stage) of maintaining an organized and established standards, observed no changes or adjustments to the models previously verbalized and / or exemplifie

Retrieval of bilingual Spanish-English information by means of a standard automatic translation system

This paper describes our participation in bilingual retrieval (queries in Spanish on documents in English), by means of an information retrieval system based on the vector model. The queries, formulated in Spanish, were translated into English by means of a commercial automatic translation system; the terms extracted from the resulting translations were filtered in order to get rid of empty words and then they were normalised by stemming. Results are poorer than those obtained through monolingual retrieval with the original queries in English slightly above 15%

Estrategias de gestión del conocimiento para generar ventajas competitivas en pequeñas y medianas empresas en el Estado de México

Derivado de la revisión de literatura, se seleccionaron siete dimensiones (adquisición, creación, captura, organización, transmisión, aplicación y evaluación del conocimiento) con las cuales se diseñó una entrevista a profundidad que se aplicó a directivos de tres pequeñas y medianas empresas en el Estado de México, que llevan a cabo algunas acciones de manera incipiente relacionadas con la gestión de conocimiento y que esta puede constituirse en un factor potencial para la generación de ventajas competitivas. Cabe señalar que los resultados, debido al tamaño de la muestra no son generalizables, sin embargo, sí pueden contribuir a que otras empresas adopten las estrategias propuestas. ABSTRACT: The present investigation was made in order to explore the way that small and medium enterprises apply the knowledge management and identify potential elements to increase their competitiveness. Derived from the review of literature seven dimensions were selected (acquisition, creation, capture, organization, transmission, application and knowledge evaluation) with which an in-depth interview was designed, applied to executives of three small and medium enterprises in the State of Mexico, finding that they carry out in an incipient way some actions related to the knowledge management and that those altogether can constitute a potential factor to generate competitive advantages. It is necessary to point out that the results, due to the size of the sample, cannot be generalized, however, they can contribute to other enterprises to adopt the proposed strategies. Mapping of research in digital reading. Territory Ebook program in the international context

La Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez realizó entre los años 2009 y 2014 una importante experiencia de investigación en el ámbito de la lectura digital: el programa Territorio Ebook. En ella estuvieron involucrados cerca de 300 lectores entre 9 y 75 años, además de bibliotecarios, autores e investigadores de la Universidad de Salamanca, Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca y Universidad de Granada. Entre los objetivos de este programa estuvo el de elaborar una etnografía del lector digital de las bibliotecas públicas de España, pero su alcance fue mayor ya que al contrastar estas investigaciones con otras hechas en diferentes países, es posible extrapolar sus resultados más allá de sus fronteras. En este artículo destaca uno de los diversos matices del programa Territorio Ebook, la investigación distribuida por grupos de edad. Se propone un estudio comparativo entre los resultados alcanzados por la Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez según cada grupo de edad e investigaciones realizadas en otros lugares con esta misma variante. Como conclusión destaca la eficacia de investigar en profundidad todos los grupos de lectores, teniendo en cuenta que cada uno tiene características específicas que conducen a diferentes resultados

Acute Oxygen Sensing in Heme Oxygenase-2 Null Mice

Hemeoxygenase-2 (HO-2) is an antioxidant enzyme that can modulate recombinant maxi-K+ channels and has been proposed to be the acute O2 sensor in the carotid body (CB). We have tested the physiological contribution of this enzyme to O2 sensing using HO-2 null mice. HO-2 deficiency leads to a CB phenotype characterized by organ growth and alteration in the expression of stress-dependent genes, including the maxi-K+ channel α-subunit. However, sensitivity to hypoxia of CB is remarkably similar in HO-2 null animals and their control littermates. Moreover, the response to hypoxia in mouse and rat CB cells was maintained after blockade of maxi-K+ channels with iberiotoxin. Hypoxia responsiveness of the adrenal medulla (AM) (another acutely responding O2-sensitive organ) was also unaltered by HO-2 deficiency. Our data suggest that redox disregulation resulting from HO-2 deficiency affects maxi-K+ channel gene expression but it does not alter the intrinsic O2 sensitivity of CB or AM cells. Therefore, HO-2 is not a universally used acute O2 sensor
