This paper presents an intervention model for major sports events, during which it is normally not easy for significant numbers of psychologists to work with similar intervention strategies. The importance of these Games to Puerto Rico -the event organizer - periodization of the event, academic formation of the psychologists intervening in the project as well as the different phases in it are explained. Direct and indirect interventions are presented along with field experiences to increase their relevance. The multidisciplinary scope of the programme shows the importance of including a variety of agents in the event, which goes beyond individual work with athletes

So far empirical tests of this prediction have ignored the fact that different aspects of host egg phenotypes may differ in the relative role of environmental vs. genetic determination, and hence that the role of intra-clutch variation in egg rejection within a population cannot be invariant. Here, we estimated whether the intra-clutch variation in several aspects of host eggshell features is consistently associated to rejection of parasitic foreign eggs across years in a magpie host population parasitized by great spotted cuckoos. We innovatively estimated spottiness by means of the fractal dimension of eggs, which considers the homogeneity of spot pattern complexity in eggshells. Our results show that low intra-clutch variation in the blue-green coloration at the middle area of the eggs associated with a high chance of rejection, but only in one of the 3 years we conducted the study. In addition, females that rejected foreign eggs presented more homogenous spot patterns in their clutches as estimated by their fractal dimension than females that accepted experimental eggs, independently of the year of study. Finally, intra-clutch variation in egg volume of host eggs was not associated to rejection. Analyses at the individual level revealed that the relative role of genetic vs. environmental factors that determine egg phenotype would be feature-specific in magpies, females having a characteristic spottiness, but not color or volume, pattern. Our work stresses the importance of considering a holistic approach including several aspects of variation in host egg phenotype (size, color, and homogeneity of spot pattern), as some aspects might be more susceptible to selection through egg rejection than others, presumably because they are less influenced by variation in the environmental conditions. Moreover, our study highlights the importance of replication in studies on the adaptive value of host traits in egg rejection. This study was made possible through funding by the Spanish

The value of desmosomal plaque-related markers to distinguish squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of the lung
An antibody panel is needed to definitively differentiate between adenocarcinoma (AC)
and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in order to meet more stringent requirements for the histologic
classification of lung cancers. Staining of desmosomal plaque-related proteins may be useful in the
diagnosis of lung SCC. The specificity for SCC of membrane staining for PKP1, KRT15, and DSG3 was 97.4%, 94.6%,
and 100%, respectively, and it was 100% when the markers were used together and in combination
with the conventional markers (AUCs of 0.7619 for Panel 1 SCC, 0.7375 for Panel 2 SCC, 0.8552 for
Panel 1 AC, and 0.8088 for Panel 2 AC). In a stepwise multivariate logistic regression model, the combination
of CK5/6, p63, and PKP1 in membrane was the optimal panel to differentiate between SCC
and AC, with a percentage correct classification of 96.2% overall (94.6% of ACs and 97.6% of SCCs).
PKP1 and DSG3 are related to the prognosis. PKP1, KRT15, and DSG3 are highly specific for SCC, but they were more useful to differentiate
between SCC and AC when used together and in combination with conventional markers.
PKP1 and DSG3 expressions may have prognostic value.MEFV was supported by PAIDI programme, Group BIO309, Junta de

Magnetic Fields in Earth-like Exoplanets and Implications for Habitability around M-dwarfs
We present estimations of dipolar magnetic moments for terrestrial exoplanets
using the Olson & Christiansen (2006) scaling law and assuming their interior
structure is similar to Earth. We find that the dipolar moment of fast rotating
planets (where the Coriolis force dominates convection in the core), may amount
up to ~80 times the magnetic moment of Earth, M_Earth, for at least part of the
planets' lifetime. For very slow rotating planets (where the force of inertia
dominates), the dipolar magnetic moment only reaches up to ~1.5 M_Earth.
Applying our calculations to currently confirmed rocky exoplanets, we find that
CoRoT-7b, Kepler-10b and 55 Cnc e can sustain dynamos up to ~ 18, 15 and 13
M_Earth, respectively. Our results also indicate that the magnetic moment of
rocky exoplanets not only depends on their rotation rate, but also on their
formation history, thermal state, age and composition, as well as the geometry
of the field. These results apply to all rocky planets, but have important
implications for the particular case of exoplanets in the Habitable Zone of
M-dwarfs.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, to appear in the Origins 2011 ISSOL & IAU Meeting

Transcriptomic and Metabolomic Response to High Light in the Charophyte Alga Klebsormidium nitens
The characterization of the molecular mechanisms, such as high light irradiance resistance, that allowed plant terrestralization is a cornerstone in evolutionary studies since the conquest of land by plants played a pivotal role in life evolution on Earth. Viridiplantae or the green lineage is divided into two clades, Chlorophyta and Streptophyta, that in turn splits into Embryophyta or land plants and Charophyta. Charophyta are used in evolutionary studies on plant terrestralization since they are generally accepted as the extant algal species most closely related to current land plants. In this study, we have chosen the facultative terrestrial early charophyte alga Klebsormidium nitens to perform an integrative transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis under high light in order to unveil key mechanisms involved in the early steps of plants terrestralization. We found a fast chloroplast retrograde signaling possibly mediated by reactive oxygen species and the inositol polyphosphate 1-phosphatase (SAL1) and 3′-phosphoadenosine-5′-phosphate (PAP) pathways inducing gene expression and accumulation of specific metabolites. Systems used by both Chlorophyta and Embryophyta were activated such as the xanthophyll cycle with an accumulation of zeaxanthin and protein folding and repair mechanisms constituted by NADPH-dependent thioredoxin reductases, thioredoxin-disulfide reductases, and peroxiredoxins. Similarly, cyclic electron flow, specifically the pathway dependent on proton gradient regulation 5, was strongly activated under high light. We detected a simultaneous co-activation of the non-photochemical quenching mechanisms based on LHC-like stress related (LHCSR) protein and the photosystem II subunit S that are specific to Chlorophyta and Embryophyta, respectively. Exclusive Embryophyta systems for the synthesis, sensing, and response to the phytohormone auxin were also activated under high light in K. nitens leading to an increase in auxin content with the concomitant accumulation of amino acids such as tryptophan, histidine, and phenylalanine.
Next Generation Probiotics for Neutralizing Obesogenic Effects: Taxa Culturing Searching Strategies
This work was carried out within the frame of GP/EFSA/ENCO/380 2018/03/G04: OBEMIRISK: Knowledge platform for assessing the risk of Bisphenols on gut microbiota and its role in obesogenic phenotype: looking for biomarkers. This research was also funded by FEDER-Infrastructure: IE_2019-198. A.L-M Incentivacion de la Investigacion. Plan Propio-UGR. K. Cerk is collaborating with UGR under the EU-FORA Programme (2020/2021).The combination of diet, lifestyle, and the exposure to food obesogens categorized into "microbiota disrupting chemicals" (MDC) could determine obesogenic-related dysbiosis and modify the microbiota diversity that impacts on individual health-disease balances, inducing altered pathogenesis phenotypes. Specific, complementary, and combined treatments are needed to face these altered microbial patterns and the specific misbalances triggered. In this sense, searching for next-generation beneficial microbes or next-generation probiotics (NGP) by microbiota culturing, and focusing on their demonstrated, extensive scope and well-defined functions could contribute to counteracting and repairing the effects of obesogens. Therefore, this review presents a perspective through compiling information and key strategies for directed searching and culturing of NGP that could be administered for obesity and endocrine-related dysbiosis by (i) observing the differential abundance of specific microbiota taxa in obesity-related patients and analyzing their functional roles, (ii) developing microbiota-directed strategies for culturing these taxa groups, and (iii) applying the successful compiled criteria from recent NGP clinical studies. New isolated or cultivable microorganisms from healthy gut microbiota specifically related to obesogens' neutralization effects might be used as an NGP single strain or in consortia, both presenting functions and the ability to palliate metabolic-related disorders. Identification of holistic approaches for searching and using potential NGP, key aspects, the bias, gaps, and proposals of solutions are also considered in this review.OBEMIRISK: Knowledge platform for assessing the risk of Bisphenols on gut microbiota and its role in obesogenic phenotype: looking for biomarkers GP/EFSA/ENCO/380 2018/03/G04FEDER-Infrastructure IE_2019-19
Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused teaching in higher education institutions around the world to drastically change from physical to virtual mode. Objective: To know the perception of Kinesiology and Physiotherapy students in Paraguay about the quality of the virtual classroom in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: observational, exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional, prospective study, with non-probability sampling, of consecutive cases. An online instrument was shared through social networks and messaging applications, in order to study sociodemographic and socioeconomic characteristics, as well as those related to educational quality. For the latter, the “Cuestionario de Evaluación de la Calidad de los cursos virtuales de Educación Social, Calidad General del Entorno y de la Metodología Didáctica” by Santoveña Casal was used. Results: 331 students participated in the research. 74.62% were female with a mean age of 23.06±4.9. 93.35% used the virtual classroom for the first time. Regarding the quality of the virtual classroom, 45.62% of the participants stated that “some” attention is paid to the teaching-learning process and 47.43% mentioned that it is “somewhat” effective and efficient. 32.63% of the participants responded that “very little” is compensated for the economic investment with the quality of the course. Conclusion: Today there is a new task in the teaching work, and where elements of virtuality have begun to be used with the aim of not slowing down the teaching-learning processes. Our research shows that most of the participants have used a virtual classroom for the first time during this pandemic and, in addition, it allows us to have a preliminary reading on the quality of it in these complex times.
