    Reactions of the η5-cyclopentadienyl-η1-amido dimethyl titanium derivative [Ti{η5-C5H4SiMe2[η1-N(C6H3Me2)]}Me2] (1) with tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane B(C6F5)3 in hexane at room temperature yield a thermally stable bright yellow microcrystaline solid identified by elemental analysis as [Ti{η5-C5H4SiMe2[η1-N(C6H3Me2)]}Me{MeB(C6F5)3}] (2). A solution of 1 in CD2Cl2 at −78°C affords the ion-pair complex 2, while in C6D6 it is slowly converted into the new neutral complex [Ti{η5-C5H4SiMe2[η1-N(C6H3Me2)]}{CH2B(C6F5)2}(C6F5)] (3). Complex 3 is the unique product obtained after stirring compound 2 or a mixture of complex 1 and B(C6F5)3 in toluene or benzene for 12 h at room temperature. One of the critical success factors of an RSD project is to deliver the product releases on time and with the planned features. In this paper, we elaborate an exploratory definition of the On-Time Delivery strategic indicator in RSD based on the literature and interviews with four companies.     This paper reports the reactivity of [Ti(η5-C5H4SiMe2Cl)Cl3], 1 towards nitrogen based donor reagents. Complex 1 reacts with lithium benzamidinato Li[PhC(NSiMe3)2] to afford [Ti(η5-C5H4SiMe2Cl){PhC(NSiMe3)2}Cl2] 2 and with lithium amide LiNMe2 to produce [Ti(η5-C5H4SiMe2NMe2)(NMe2)3] 3. The latter compound was converted into the dihalide derivatives [Ti(η5-C5H4SiMe2NMe2)(NMe2)X2] [X=Cl (4) and Br (5)] by reaction with SiMe3X (X=Cl or Br, respectively). The constrained geometry derivatives [Ti{η5-C5H4SiMe2(η1-NR)}Cl2] (R=C6H56, 2,6-Me2C6H37 and 2-Me-6-iPr-C6H38) have been synthesized by treatment of 1 with the corresponding primary aryl amines H2NR. Complex 7 was readily converted into the dialkyl and diamido compounds [Ti{η5-C5H4SiMe2[η1-N(C6H3Me2)]}X2] (X=Me (9), CH2Ph (10), CH2SiMe3 (11) or NMe2 (13)) by metathesis using Grignard or organolithium reagents and into the monoalkyl derivative [Ti{η5-C5H4SiMe2[η1-N(C6H3Me2)]}MeCl] (12) by reaction with AlMe3.     Coronary and carotid artery dysfunction and KV7 overexpression in a mouse model of Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome.

    Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) is an extremely rare genetic disease caused by expression of progerin, a lamin A variant that is also expressed at low levels in non-HGPS individuals. Although HGPS patients die predominantly from myocardial infarction and stroke, the mechanisms that provoke pathological alterations in the coronary and cerebral arteries in HGPS remain ill defined. Here, we assessed vascular function in the coronary arteries (CorAs) and carotid arteries (CarAs) of progerin-expressing LmnaG609G/G609G mice (G609G), both in resting conditions and after hypoxic stimulus. Wire myography, pharmacological screening, and gene expression studies demonstrated vascular atony and stenosis, as well as other functional alterations in progeroid CorAs and CarAs and aorta. These defects were associated with loss of vascular smooth muscle cells and overexpression of the KV7 family of voltage-dependent potassium channels. Compared with wild-type controls, G609G mice showed reduced median survival upon chronic isoproterenol exposure, a baseline state of chronic cardiac hypoxia characterized by overexpression of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α and 3α genes, and increased cardiac vascularization.     USEQ: A Short Questionnaire for Satisfaction Evaluation of Virtual Rehabilitation Systems

    [EN] New emerging technologies have proven their efficacy in aiding people in their rehabilitation. The tests that are usually used to evaluate usability (in general) or user satisfaction (in particular) of this technology are not specifically focused on virtual rehabilitation and patients. The objective of this contribution is to present and evaluate the USEQ (User Satisfaction Evaluation Questionnaire). The USEQ is a questionnaire that is designed to properly evaluate the satisfaction of the user (which constitutes part of usability) in virtual rehabilitation systems. Forty patients with balance disorders completed the USEQ after their first session with ABAR (Active Balance Rehabilitation), which is a virtual rehabilitation system that is designed for the rehabilitation of balance disorders. Internal consistency analysis and exploratory factor analysis were carried out to identify the factor structure of the USEQ. The six items of USEQ were significantly associated with each other, and the Cronbach alpha coefficient for the questionnaire was 0.716. In an analysis of the principal components, a one-factor solution was considered to be appropriate. The findings of the study suggest that the USEQ is a reliable questionnaire with adequate internal consistency.     Mapping the history and anthropology of music in the city of Cáceres for didactic, touristic and museological applications.

    Este trabajo muestra los avances de un proyecto de investigación que tiene como objetivo descubrir, recopilar, clasifcar, mapear y poner en valor la historia y la antropología de la música en la ciudad de Cáceres (patrimonio de la humanidad). El análisis se centra en los procesos de registro, clasifcación y expresión de la información proveniente de distintas fuentes para su utilización didáctica, turística y museológica. Los sistemas de información geográfca (SIG) nos permiten vincular esa información con el espacio y diseñar rutas o itinerarios que conjugan los elementos histórico-antropológicos con los educativos e interactivos. En este sentido, se muestran aquí una serie de estudios de caso refexionando sobre su potencial educativo y la puesta en valor del mismo. La música irlandesa, las formaciones corales, las campanas forman parte del conjunto de casos temáticos analizados.Abstract : This paper shows the progress of a research project that aims to discover, collect, classify, map and enhance the history and anthropology of music in the World Heritage city of Cáceres. The analysis focuses on the processes of recording, classifying and showing information from diferent sources for didactic, tourist and museological use. Geographic information systems (GIS) allow us to link this information with space and design routes or itineraries that combine historical-anthropological elements with educational and interactive ones. In this sense, a series of case studies are presented here, refecting on their educational potential and their enhancement.     Glucuronidated Quercetin Lowers Blood Pressure in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats via Deconjugation

    [Background] Chronic oral quercetin reduces blood pressure and restores endothelial dysfunction in hypertensive animals. However, quercetin (aglycone) is usually not present in plasma, because it is rapidly metabolized into conjugated, mostly inactive, metabolites. The aim of the study is to analyze whether deconjugation of these metabolites is involved in the blood pressure lowering effect of quercetin. [Methodology/Principal Findings] We have analyzed the effects on blood pressure and vascular function in vitro of the conjugated metabolites of quercetin (quercetin-3-glucuronide, Q3GA; isorhamnetin-3-glucuronide, I3GA; and quercetin-3′-sulfate, Q3'S) in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Q3GA and I3GA (1 mg/kg i.v.), but not Q3'S, progressively reduced mean blood pressure (MBP), measured in conscious SHR. The hypotensive effect of Q3GA was abolished in SHR treated with the specific inhibitor of β-glucuronidase, saccharic acid 1,4-lactone (SAL, 10 mg/ml). In mesenteric arteries, unlike quercetin, Q3GA had no inhibitory effect in the contractile response to phenylephrine after 30 min of incubation. However, after 1 hour of incubation Q3GA strongly reduced this contractile response and this effect was prevented by SAL. Oral administration of quercetin (10 mg/Kg) induced a progressive decrease in MBP, which was also suppressed by SAL. [Conclusions] Conjugated metabolites are involved in the in vivo antihypertensive effect of quercetin, acting as molecules for the plasmatic transport of quercetin to the target tissues.     Paclitaxel mitigates structural alterations and cardiac conduction system defects in a mouse model of Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome.

    Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) is an ultrarare laminopathy caused by expression of progerin, a lamin A variant, also present at low levels in non-HGPS individuals. HGPS patients age and die prematurely, predominantly from cardiovascular complications. Progerin-induced cardiac repolarization defects have been described previously, although the underlying mechanisms are unknown. We conducted studies in heart tissue from progerin-expressing LmnaG609G/G609G (G609G) mice, including microscopy, intracellular calcium dynamics, patch-clamping, in vivo magnetic resonance imaging, and electrocardiography. G609G mouse cardiomyocytes showed tubulin-cytoskeleton disorganization, t-tubular system disruption, sarcomere shortening, altered excitation-contraction coupling, and reductions in ventricular thickening and cardiac index. G609G mice exhibited severe bradycardia, and significant alterations of atrio-ventricular conduction and repolarization. Most importantly, 50% of G609G mice had altered heart rate variability, and sinoatrial block, both significant signs of premature cardiac aging. G609G cardiomyocytes had electrophysiological alterations, which resulted in an elevated action potential plateau and early afterdepolarization bursting, reflecting slower sodium current inactivation and long Ca+2 transient duration, which may also help explain the mild QT prolongation in some HGPS patients. Chronic treatment with low-dose paclitaxel ameliorated structural and functional alterations in G609G hearts.     A randomized phase II study of capecitabine-based chemoradiation with or without bevacizumab in resectable locally advanced rectal cancer: clinical and biological features

    Background: perioperatory chemoradiotherapy (CRT) improves local control and survival in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). The objective of the current study was to evaluate the addition of bevacizumab (BEV) to preoperative capecitabine (CAP)-based CRT in LARC, and to explore biomarkers for downstaging. Methods: patients (pts) were randomized to receive 5 weeks of radiotherapy 45 Gy/25 fractions with concurrent CAP 825 mg/m2 twice daily 5 days per week and BEV 5 mg/kg once every 2 weeks (3 doses) (arm A), or the same schedule without BEV (arm B). The primary end point was pathologic complete response (ypCR: ypT0N0). Results: ninety pts were included in arm A (44) or arm B (46). Grade 3-4 treatment-related toxicity rates were 16% and 13%, respectively. All patients but one (arm A) proceeded to surgery. The ypCR rate was 16% in arm A and 11% in arm B (p =0.54). Fifty-nine percent vs 39% of pts achieved T-downstaging (arm A vs arm B; p =0.04). Serial samples for biomarker analyses were obtained for 50 out of 90 randomized pts (arm A/B: 22/28). Plasma angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) levels decreased in arm A and increased in arm B (p <0.05 at all time points). Decrease in Ang-2 levels from baseline to day 57 was significantly associated with tumor downstaging (p =0.02). Conclusions: the addition of BEV to CAP-based preoperative CRT has shown to be feasible in LARC. The association between decreasing Ang-2 levels and tumor downstaging should be further validated in customized studies

    El Equipo Técnico de Psicólogos comenzó su labor en la temporada 1998-1999, cuando Miguel Morilla diseñó un proyecto de trabajo psicológico que desde entonces se ha desarrollado ininterrumpidamente (Morilla et al., 2009). El grupo está compuesto por 8 profesionales para la temporada 2009-2010 y sus objetivos se enmarcan en la línea de los fijados con carácter general para los escalafones inferiores.
