The paper considers the calculation of the maximum packing density of fine aggregate. The selection of the granulometric composition of the aggregate is given. The bulk densities and packing densities of standard screening fractions were determined. The content of each fraction in the mixture and the packing density of the aggregate mixture are calculated by the introduction of a subsequent finer fraction. Topological calculation of sandstone screening was performed. The results of sieving of sandstone screening are presented. The high-density grain composition of aggregate for fine-grained concrete is obtained. The compositions of concrete mixtures have been designed. The volume ratio of aggregate and cement paste in the concrete mix, the average mass size of the aggregate grains in the mixture, the volume fractions of cement and water in the concrete mixture are determined. The physicomechanical characteristics of fine-grained concrete of various compositions with a high density aggregate are shown. Results of testing the control samples for compressive strength are given. The density of the obtained samples was determined. Conclusions are drawn on the work. Keywords: Fine-grained concrete, fine aggregate, granulometry, screenings, sandstone, highdensity aggregat

Until now the results on profiling dopamine receptors in C. elegans have been incomplete and fragmentary. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression profile of dop-1 gene in C. elegans using 3 kb promoter with 3'-end locating before ATG of dop-1 gene. Methods. The strain of C. elegans with mutant unc-119 gene was used. To check a pattern of the dop-1 expression, the promoter of this gene was amplified using PCR. The animals were co-bombarded with plasmid pPD95.77 dop-1::GFP and reporter construct containing unc-119 gene. Results. Using GFP as a reporter protein, we built a whole picture of expression of dopamine receptor type 1 in C. elegans and found that this protein could be detected only in mechanosensory neurons such as PLM, PVQR, PVQL, ALNR, ALNL, DVAR, DVC. Introduction: At present, it is believed that the genetic component is important in the pathogenesis of periodontitis. One of the candidate genes that are of major importance in the development of the disease is the vitamin D receptor gene (VDR). The association of its genetic polymorphisms, in particular Apal, with periodontitis in different populations of the world is proved. The aim: To study the association of the Apal-polymorphism VDR gene with the development of generalized periodontitis in the Ukrainian population. Materials and methods: Patient genotypes were determined by polymerase chain reaction with subsequent analysis of restriction fragment length (PCR-RFLP) from buccal epithelium 116 patients with generalized periodontitis (GP) and 67 individuals of control group. Statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS-17,0 program Results: As a result of the performed studies, it was shown that in the group of patients with GP, the ratio of homozygous for the main allele (a/a), heterozygote (a/A) and homozygote for the minor allele (A/A) was 26 (22,4%), 62 (53,4%), 28 (24,2%), and in control group – 25 (37,3%), 27 (40,3%), 15 (22,4%),respectively. The distribution of genotypes in the comparison groups was not statistically significant (P = 0,084). By the method of binary logistic regression in the framework of the additive inheritance model (a/A vs a/a), a reliable relationship of the genotype with the Apal-polymorphism of the VDR gene was established with the development of generalized periodontitis (Р=0,029). It was shown that in heterozygotes(a/A)the risk of GP in2,208 (95%CI = 1,084-4,496) times is hig her than in homozygotes of the main allele (a/a). After adjusting for age, sex, smoking habit, BMI, the reliability of these results was maintained (P = 0,030

Azimuthal anisotropy and correlations in p+p, d+Au and Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV

We present the first measurement of directed flow (v1v_1) at RHIC. v1v_1 is found to be consistent with zero at pseudorapidities η\eta from -1.2 to 1.2, then rises to the level of a couple of percent over the range 2.4<η<42.4 < |\eta| < 4. The latter observation is similar to data from NA49 if the SPS rapidities are shifted by the difference in beam rapidity between RHIC and SPS. Back-to-back jets emitted out-of-plane are found to be suppressed more if compared to those emitted in-plane, which is consistent with {\it jet quenching}. Using the scalar product method, we systematically compared azimuthal correlations from p+p, d+Au and Au+Au collisions. Flow and non-flow from these three different collision systems are discussed.Comment: Quark Matter 2004 proceeding, 4 pages, 3 figure

    Azimuthal anisotropy: the higher harmonics

We report the first observations of the fourth harmonic (v_4) in the azimuthal distribution of particles at RHIC. The measurement was done taking advantage of the large elliptic flow generated at RHIC. The integrated v_4 is about a factor of 10 smaller than v_2. For the sixth (v_6) and eighth (v_8) harmonics upper limits on the magnitudes are reported.Comment: 4 pages, 6 figures, contribution to the Quark Matter 2004 proceeding

All-optical switching and strong coupling using tunable whispering-gallery-mode microresonators

We review our recent work on tunable, ultrahigh quality factor whispering-gallery-mode bottle microresonators and highlight their applications in nonlinear optics and in quantum optics experiments. Our resonators combine ultra-high quality factors of up to Q = 3.6 \times 10^8, a small mode volume, and near-lossless fiber coupling, with a simple and customizable mode structure enabling full tunability. We study, theoretically and experimentally, nonlinear all-optical switching via the Kerr effect when the resonator is operated in an add-drop configuration. This allows us to optically route a single-wavelength cw optical signal between two fiber ports with high efficiency. Finally, we report on progress towards strong coupling of single rubidium atoms to an ultra-high Q mode of an actively stabilized bottle microresonator.Comment: 20 pages, 24 figures. Strange Resonance Production in p+p and Au+Au Collisions at RHIC Energies

Resonance yields and spectra from elementary p+p and Au+Au collisions at sNN=\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 200 GeV from the STAR experiment at RHIC are presented and discussed in terms of chemical and thermal freeze-out conditions. Thermal models do not adequately describe the yields of the resonance production in central Au+Au collisions. The approach to include elastic hadronic interactions between chemical freeze-out and thermal freeze-out suggests a time of Δτ>\Delta \tau>5 fm/c.Comment: 4 pages, 7 figures, proceedings of the Quark Matter 2004, in Oakland, California, to be published in Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physic
