Electroweak Supersymmetric Quantum Corrections to the Top Quark Width

Within the framework of the MSSM, we compute the electroweak one-loop supersymmetric quantum corrections to the width Γ(tW+b)\Gamma (t\rightarrow W^{+}\, b) of the canonical main decay of the top quark. The results are presented in two on-shell renormalization schemes parametrized either by α\alpha or GFG_F. While in the standard model, and in the Higgs sector of the MSSM, the electroweak radiative corrections in the GFG_F-scheme are rather insensitive to the top quark mass and are of order of 1%1\% at most, the rest (``genuine'' part) of the supersymmetric quantum effects in the MSSM amount to a non-negligible correction that could be about one order of magnitude larger, depending on the top quark mass and of the region of the supersymmetric parameter space. These new electroweak effects, therefore, could be of the same order (and go in the same direction) as the conventional leading QCD corrections.Comment: 26 pages + 2 tables in LaTeX, UAB-FT-323. 8 figures available upon request ([email protected]) in tarsified, compressed and uuencoded form (1.1 Mb

Precise Prediction for M_W in the MSSM

We present the currently most accurate evaluation of the W boson mass, M_W, in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). The full complex phase dependence at the one-loop level, all available MSSM two-loop corrections as well as the full Standard Model result have been included. We analyse the impact of the different sectors of the MSSM at the one-loop level with a particular emphasis on the effect of the complex phases. We discuss the prediction for M_W based on all known higher-order contributions in representative MSSM scenarios. Furthermore we obtain an estimate of the remaining theoretical uncertainty from unknown higher-order corrections.Comment: 38 pages, 25 figures. Minor corrections, additional reference

The Higgs resonance in vector boson scattering

    Get PDF
A heavy Higgs resonance is described in a representation-independent way which is valid for the whole energy range of 2 -> 2 scattering processes, including the asymptotic behavior at low and high energies. The low-energy theorems which follow from to the custodial SU_2 symmetry of the Higgs sector restrict the possible parameterizations of the lineshape that are consistent in perturbation theory. Matching conditions are specified which are necessary and sufficient to relate the parameters arising in different expansions. The construction is performed explicitly up to next-to-leading order.Comment: 25 pages, revtex, uses epsf, amssym
