TIME SERIES IN EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY: APPLICATION IN THE STUDY OF COGNITIVE ACHIEVEMENT

The study proposes the utility of time series methodology in the study of processes in educational psychology. Conjointly, the study applies time series in the study of cognitive achievement. Thirteen students from seventh to ninth grades performed an inductive reasoning test. The performance was measured in 20 different occasions and the observations were aggregated to generate a times series of 260 observations (20 different occasions by each individual multiplied by 13 participants). Result shows that a seasonal ARIMA (0,0,1) (1,1,1) adequately fits the data through a model comparative approach. Concluding, despites the complexity, ARIMA methodology is capable to investigate process, reducing the object of the study without lost its fundamental properties and dynamical aspects.  Article visualizations

Aprender a tocar violão : estudo e prática formal e informal

Monografia (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Decanato de Ensino de Graduação, Universidade Aberta do Brasil, Instituto de Artes, Departamento de Música, Curso de Licenciatura em Música a Distância, 2014.A presente pesquisa teve origem na busca pelo entendimento dos processos de aprendizagem do violão fora do contexto escolar e dentro dele, quais os procedimentos e escolhas adotados por uma pessoa que começa a tocar violão sem ter frequentado aulas desse instrumento, quais os principais fatores que influenciam esse aprendizado aqui denominado como processo de aprendizado informal. Em segunda instância são abordados os fatores que levam esse mesmo aluno pela busca do ensino formal, com regularidade e sistematização em um ambiente escolar musical. O estudo teve abordagem qualitativa, pois centrou-se na investigação de um aluno de violão, destacando a sua trajetória com a música e suas escolhas para aprender a tocar o instrumento. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada. O roteiro da entrevista consistia de perguntas sobre como a música se configura na vida do aluno, como se deu seus primeiros contatos com o instrumento, sua forma de estudo dentro do processo formal e informal. A entrevista foi transcrita e os dados foram analisados á luz dos temas centrais: Como o estudo e a prática formal e informal do violão se justapõe e se complementam, qual a influência e contribuição de amigos e familiares no desenvolvimento musical do aluno. Os dados sinalizaram como os processos formais e informais são tratados pelos autores e pelo aluno entrevistado. Como estes se relacionam e se complementam, com o intuito de realizar um ensino e aprendizado que se justapõe a contemporaneidade sem perder a qualidade e o prazer do fazer musical. Como resultados apontam-se três fatores essenciais para a busca do aprendizado do violão: a socialização, a influência de pessoas próximas e o acesso ao instrumento. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis research originated in the search for understanding of the processes of learning the acoustic guitar outside of school and inside it, which procedures and choices adopted by a person who begins to play acoustic guitar without having attended lectures of this instrument, which are the main factors influencing this learning here termed as informal learning. On appeal examines the factors driving this same student for the pursuit of formal education with regularity and systematization in a music school. The study had a qualitative approach because it focused on the investigation of an acoustic guitar student, highlighting his path with his song choices and to learn how to play the instrument. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The interview consisted of questions about how music is represented as the student's life, how was your first contact with the instrument, a form of study within the formal and informal process. The interview was transcribed and the data were analyzed in the light of the central issues: How the study and practice of formal and informal acoustic guitar is juxtaposed and complemented, the influence and contribution of family and friends in the musical development of students. The data signaled as the formal and informal processes are treated by the authors and the student respondent. How they relate and complement each other, in order to conduct a teaching and learning which juxtapose contemporaneity without losing the quality and pleasure of music making. The results suggest there are three key factors for the pursuit of learning guitar: socialization, the influence of people nearby and the access to the instrument

Simulação do controle de memória de uma tag passiva de RFID

Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade UnB Gama (FGA), Engenharia Eletrônica, 2018.A tecnologia de RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) tem sido utilizada em várias aplicações, tais como controle de acesso, pagamento de transporte, rastreamento de produtos, animais e veículos, pelo fato de oferecer uma alternativa de baixo custo para identificação de pessoas e objetos, sem necessitar de um operador para capturar os dados. Um sistema típico de RFID possui um leitor (reader) que envia um sinal para uma etiqueta (tag), recebe a resposta correspondente e armazena as informações em uma base de dados. Uma tag típica, por sua vez, contém antena, modulador, demodulador e memória, que pode, por exemplo, armazenar a informação de identificação do objeto a ser enviada para o leitor. Trabalhos anteriores de graduação abordaram o projeto e implementação de uma tag passiva de RFID de 13,56 MHz, sendo que o bloco de front-end analógico/RF foi modelado em Verilog-AMS e implementado em tecnologia TSMC 0.18 um. Os blocos digitais foram modelados em Verilog e simulados isoladamente, considerando que a comunicação entre o leitor e a tag utiliza o protocolo ISO/IEC 14443 e que inicialmente a tag envia somente o número de identificação para o leitor. Considerando esse contexto, este projeto tem como objetivo geral a verificação dos blocos digitais da tag em conjunto com o sistema projetado nos trabalhos anteriores através de simulações mistas e análises comparativas de desempenho.The RFID technology has been used in different applications, such as access control, transportation payment, tracking of products, animals and vehicles because it can offer a low-cost option in the field of identification of persons and objects without needing an operator to capture data. A typical RFID system is composed of a reader and a tag. The reader sends a signal to the tag, receives the corresponding answer and stores the information in a data bank. The tag is equipped with a memory chip, which stores the identification of the object. This information is read and sent back to the reader. A typical tag has an antenna, modulator, demodulator and memory chip. Previous graduation work approached the project and implementation of a 13,56 MHz passive tag, with the analogic/RF front-end block being modelled in Verilog-AMS and implemented on 0.18 um TSMC technology. The digital blocks were modelled in Verilog and simulated, considering that the communication between the reader and the tag uses the ISO/IEC 14443 protocol and that initially the tag sends only the identification number to the reader. In this context, the aim of this work is the verification and implementation of the digital blocks that will be used in the system designed in previous work through mixed-signal simulations and comparative performance analysis

A Experiência Cubista: Sobreposição de Planos, Múltiplas Perspectivas e a Reconstrução do Espaço

O desenvolvimento do cubismo interage com uma desconstrução das noções espaciais herdadas das tradições realistas de entendimento das artes, das ciências e das sociedades. Mediante sobreposição de planos e de múltiplas perspectivas, o espaço é constantemente reconstruído pelas experiências artísticas cubistas, as quais enfatizam a diferenciação entre o espaço natural, associado às mensurações cotidianas e possivelmente objetivas, e o espaço expresso e apreendido nas pinturas. Esses artistas dialogam com círculos intelectuais diversos, dentre esses filósofos, matemáticos e cientistas que discutem a possibilidade da contingência dos sistemas geométricos e, portanto, alimentam a imaginação artística a investigar a subjetividade dos modos de compreensão das ideias de espaço.  Desse modo, suspensões dos juízos e conscientizações individuais das experiências humanas fomentam um collage cultural em que as ideias científicas, e.g. Henri Poincaré, e as concepções filosóficas, e.g., Henri Bergson, sustentam intelectualmente manifestos e movimentos de vanguardas cubistas. Desse modo, investiga-se como o espaço é apresentado em seletas pinturas cubistas pari passu às sustentações discursivas desse movimento artístico. A díade virtù-fortuna na fundação e manutenção da ordem em Niccolò Machiavelli

Eminent critical evaluations on Machiavelli's thought discuss the Fortuna-Virtù pair. Even though such terms share well-known origins and traditions throughout Latin literary historiography, especially ancient and medieval receptions during civic humanism, their elusive features persist in Machiavelli´s arguments, enabling numerous academic debates. While the idea of Virtù maintain its ambivalence and ambiguity throughout these relevant and varied textual evidences, continual pursuits for clarification are made throughout the Florentine secretary's corpus, associating the term with other important and central concepts, e.g., desiderio, stato, forza. Political instabilities, forces beyond human control, unpredictability of civil actions are recurring themes in Machiavelli's conceptions of Fortune. In open dialogue with civic humanists who emphasize a crescent political and social participation, blending rational reflections, moral consideration, as well as discussions about different forms of regimes, this author exposes a historiographical conception, reinvigorating ancient traditions, in the creation of a civil order. This demands Virtù, a personal and public commitment in the exaltation of human potentialities and limits. Reinserting the relevance of a parity between Fortuna and Virtù in Machiavelli is a relevant step for avoiding anachronistic readings. Thus, the most significant examples of civic founders and maintainers of civic order are investigated, e.g., Romulo, Numa, Moses, Cesare Borgia, Castruccio Castracani. By studying the images of Fortune, in face of Machiavelli´s political and anthropological conceptions, the argumentative development of some main ideas of this famous political thinker sustains the centrality of the Virtù-Fortuna dyad

RELIGIÃO, CIVILITÀ E MANUTENÇÃO DO VIVERE LIBERO: AS ORDENAÇÕES CIVIS NOS DISCORSI DE NICCOLÒ MACHIAVELLI

Machiavelli considera a religião importante no estabelecimento de uma civilità que promova e sustente o vivere libero. A promoção da ordem e o zelo das ações civis são mais facilmente obtidas naquelas civilizações que preservam as tradições e os ritos religiosos, possibilitando resistência a ordenações tirânicas por infundirem grande ânimo em seus cidadãos. Considera ainda que o desrespeito e o descaso à religião tendem a conduzir civilizações a desordens, a ruínas. Investigam-se, portanto, nos Discorsi de Machiavelli (D.I.9-15; I.55; II.1-5; III.1; III.29; III.33), os modos pelos quais os costumes religiosos possuem grandes impactos nas conduções políticas, nas formas de governo, nas ordenações civis e na luta contra corrupção da civilità. Mostra-se como, ao atentar-se para as ordens políticas corrompidas ao redor de si e enunciar as ordens dos antigos, o florentino louva os admiráveis sucessos dos tempos pretéritos e critica veementemente o presente – cheio de misérias, de infâmias e de vitupérios, portanto, repleto de insucessos, de inseguranças e de desordens. Não se discute a veracidade factual das crenças religiosas; pondera-se sobre a promoção do ânimo, da unidade, do amor à pátria. Para tanto, é imprescindível interpretar os mitos e as tradições fundadoras das religiões de acordo com as necessidades civis.

Scholarship Overview on Gnosticism and Early Jewish-Christian Writings: (re)mantling Categories about Ancient Religious Phenomena

Gnosticism as an organized social movement with a coherent and uniform message is an ambiguous terminology. However, the existence of distinct elements that are simultaneously present in texts established as gnostic and New Testament writings is unquestionable. There is a primeval milieu shared among particular communities based on several literary receptions in which diverse ancient religious phenomena, gradually, became consolidated. Critical studies reveal a mandatory revaluation of modern scholarship categories, including essential terms such as Gnosticism and Gnosis; terminological references and religious expressions in the first century do not exclude the presence of shared ideas within the Christian Testament and other Jewish mythic configurations. There are multiple understandings and applications of the term Gnosticism in contemporary scholarship, including those which deliberate evident issues of definition. As a result, a brief scholarship review regarding selected dimensions of Gnostic ideas in the ancient Mediterranean context provides historical and literary grounds for textual analysis in the Jewish-Christian mythmaking and the reception processes of biblical writings in the ancient world. Consequently, by dis-mantling and re-mantling these ancient religious horizons, scholars consider a comprehensive approach of the ancient Hellenistic religious phenomena in which elements from Gnosticism, Apocalypticism, Ancient Magic and Mystery Religions share historical contexts and furnish complex symbolic communications in their specific textual expressions
