Static large deviations for a reaction-diffusion model

We consider the superposition of a symmetric simple exclusion dynamics, speeded-up in time, with a spin-flip dynamics in a one-dimensional interval with periodic boundary conditions. We prove the large deviations principle for the empirical measure under the stationary state. We deduce from this result that the stationary state is concentrated on the stationary solutions of the hydrodynamic equation which are stable.Comment: 44 page

We study the equilibrium fluctuations for a gradient exclusion process with conductances in random environments, which can be viewed as a central limit theorem for the empirical distribution of particles when the system starts from an equilibrium measure

Nahuatl contemporary writing: studying convergence in the absence of a written norm

Language revitalisation (LR) is influenced by a concern with authenticity around which written conventions are largely seen as the result of careful designs based on authentic spoken usage. This dissertation proposes to see written conventions as the result of an authentication process carried on by a community of practice of writers, and to explore the points of convergence in this practice as a set of examples which could eventually become shared conventions in most varieties of a linguistic continuum. I focus on the revitalisation of Nahuatl, a linguistic continuum spoken in Mexico. The study of convergence in the written practice of Nahuatl must be carried out in a context of ideological, linguistic, and orthographical heterogeneity. I have tested a methodology to extensively investigate points of convergence between eight contemporary Nahuatl texts from eight contemporary varieties, comparing them with Classical Nahuatl (CN), an old Nahuatl variety codified in prescriptive sources. I have attempted to locate commonalities in these texts by identifying nuclear clauses (NCs): morphosyntactic structures which are a common feature across the Nahuatl continuum. I have used a Finite State (FS) model of CN to attempt a morphological analysis of the word types found in the contemporary texts. The word types that could be plausibly analysed as CN NCs by our FS model, were proposed as plausible points of convergence between the texts and CN. Using a force atlas diagram, each text was represented as a node in a network, with the distance between them being proportional to the number of plausible points of convergence between them. Findings are that the ambiguity of analyses proposed by the developing FS model are currently a pitfall of our approach, but that the plausible points of convergence could be used to locate texts occupying a ‘central’ position in an expanding network

A Unified Nonlinear Adaptive Approach for Detection and Isolation of Engine Faults

A challenging problem in aircraft engine health management (EHM) system development is to detect and isolate faults in system components (i.e., compressor, turbine), actuators, and sensors. Existing nonlinear EHM methods often deal with component faults, actuator faults, and sensor faults separately, which may potentially lead to incorrect diagnostic decisions and unnecessary maintenance. Therefore, it would be ideal to address sensor faults, actuator faults, and component faults under one unified framework. This paper presents a systematic and unified nonlinear adaptive framework for detecting and isolating sensor faults, actuator faults, and component faults for aircraft engines. The fault detection and isolation (FDI) architecture consists of a parallel bank of nonlinear adaptive estimators. Adaptive thresholds are appropriately designed such that, in the presence of a particular fault, all components of the residual generated by the adaptive estimator corresponding to the actual fault type remain below their thresholds. If the faults are sufficiently different, then at least one component of the residual generated by each remaining adaptive estimator should exceed its threshold. Therefore, based on the specific response of the residuals, sensor faults, actuator faults, and component faults can be isolated. The effectiveness of the approach was evaluated using the NASA C-MAPSS turbofan engine model, and simulation results are presented

Dynamical large deviations for a boundary driven stochastic lattice gas model with many conserved quantities

We prove the dynamical large deviations for a particle system in which particles may have different velocities. We assume that we have two infinite reservoirs of particles at the boundary: this is the so-called boundary driven process. The dynamics we considered consists of a weakly asymmetric simple exclusion process with collision among particles having different velocities

The main goal of this project is to design an efficient and effective induction and training process for the ECOPARQUE CHINAUTA organization, the purpose is to provide the company and employees with the necessary tools for their successful adaptation and guarantee their optimal professional and personal development. In addition to giving the company's former employees a reinduction process that will help them perform their duties more successfully, the goal is to give the company and its employees the resources they need to successfully adapt to their roles and ensure their optimal professional and personal development. To design the process model for induction and training, an exploratory and descriptive methodology was used, with a mixed approach, allowing the use of deductive and inductive logic, therefore, the collection of information that was used are: SWOT analysis, that allowed us to know the weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats that the company currently has in the execution of induction and training of personnel, the surveys applied to employees to know the perception of the process that they had when they were hired and finally an evaluation through a matrix of criteria and scores with the purpose of identifying each of the conditions or characteristics that must be carried out in the induction and training processes of the company ECOPARQUE CHINAUTA. This allowed classifying the information and seeing which current processes can be taken into account in the design of the model and which ones should be built. It is important for the company ECOPARQUE CHINAUTA to have this design, so that there is a clear guide on the regulations, guidelines, and processes that must be followed to carry out a crucial development of the duties in each collaborator, in addition to enabling new employees to easily understand their role and will contribute to a quick integration, thus contributing fully in the fulfillment of the company's operational accomplishments and efficiencies

Cellular Senescence in Livers from Children with End Stage Liver Disease

    Get PDF
Senescent cells occur in adults with cirrhotic livers independent of the etiology. Aim: Investigate the presence rate of cellular senescence and expression of cell cycle check points in livers from children with end stage disease. staining occurred in the areas of ductular transformation and in the interlobular bile ducts.Cellular senescence in livers of children with end stage disease is associated with damage rather than corresponding to an age dependent phenomenon. Further studies are needed to support the hypothesis that these senescence markers correlate with disease progression
