Correlated Hybrid Fluctuations from Inflation with Thermal Dissipation
We investigate the primordial scalar perturbations in the thermal dissipative
inflation where the radiation component (thermal bath) persists and the density
fluctuations are thermally originated. The perturbation generated in this model
is hybrid, i.e. it consists of both adiabatic and isocurvature components. We
calculate the fractional power ratio () and the correlation coefficient
() between the adiabatic and the isocurvature perturbations at the
commencing of the radiation regime. Since the adiabatic/isocurvature
decomposition of hybrid perturbations generally is gauge-dependent at
super-horizon scales when there is substantial energy exchange between the
inflaton and the thermal bath, we carefully perform a proper decomposition of
the perturbations. We find that the adiabatic and the isocurvature
perturbations are correlated, even though the fluctuations of the radiation
component is considered uncorrelated with that of the inflaton. We also show
that both and depend mainly on the ratio between the
dissipation coefficient and the Hubble parameter during inflation.
The correlation is positive () for strong dissipation cases
where , and is negative for weak dissipation instances where
. Moreover, and in this model are not
independent of each other. The predicted relation between and
is consistent with the WMAP observation. Other testable predictions are also

Superconductivity and single crystal growth of Ni0:05TaS2
Superconductivity was discovered in a Ni0:05TaS2 single crystal. A Ni0:05TaS2
single crystal was successfully grown via the NaCl/KCl flux method. The
obtained lattice constant c of Ni0:05TaS2 is 1.1999 nm, which is significantly
smaller than that of 2H-TaS2 (1.208 nm). Electrical resistivity and
magnetization measurements reveal that the superconductivity transition
temperature of Ni0:05TaS2 is enhanced from 0.8 K (2H-TaS2) to 3.9 K. The
charge-density-wave transition of the matrix compound 2H-TaS2 is suppressed in
Ni0:05TaS2. The success of Ni0:05TaS2 single crystal growth via a NaCl/KCl flux
demonstrates that NaCl/KCl flux method will be a feasible method for single
crystal growth of the layered transition metal dichalcogenides.Comment: 13pages, 6 figures, Published in SS
Search for Invisible Decays of and in and
Using a data sample of decays collected with the BES
II detector at the BEPC, searches for invisible decays of and
in to and are performed.
The signals, which are reconstructed in final states, are used
to tag the and decays. No signals are found for the
invisible decays of either or , and upper limits at the 90%
confidence level are determined to be for the ratio
and for . These are the first

Observation of Two New N* Peaks in J/psi -> and Decays
The system in decays of is limited to be
isospin 1/2 by isospin conservation. This provides a big advantage in studying
compared with and experiments which mix
isospin 1/2 and 3/2 for the system. Using 58 million decays
collected with the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, more than 100 thousand
events are obtained. Besides two well known
peaks at 1500 MeV and 1670 MeV, there are two new, clear peaks in
the invariant mass spectrum around 1360 MeV and 2030 MeV. They are the
first direct observation of the peak and a long-sought "missing"
peak above 2 GeV in the invariant mass spectrum. A simple
Breit-Wigner fit gives the mass and width for the peak as MeV and MeV, and for the new peak above 2 GeV
as MeV and MeV, respectively
Factors associated with media use for parenting information: a cross-sectional study among parents of children aged 0-8 years
Aim: Media use may strengthen parents' capacities to deal with parenting issues. This study examined which factors are associated with media use for parenting information.Design: Cross-sectional data of 658 parents of children aged 0-8 years, gathered in the CIKEO cohort study in the Netherlands, were analysed.Methods: Multivariable logistic regression models were used to examine which factors were associated with media use for parenting information.Results: The mean age of the participants was 33.8 years (SD = 5.0); 94.7% were mothers; 77.4% used media for parenting information. Parents with more questions or concerns (OR: 1.40, 95% CI: 1.23, 1.59), and parents who received parenting information from their social contacts (OR: 5.57, 95% CI: 3.22, 9.61), had higher odds of media use for parenting information. Older parents (OR: 0.95, 95% CI: 0.91, 1.00), and parents of older children (OR: 0.84, 95% CI: 0.74, 0.95), had lower odds of media use for parenting information.Public Health and primary carePrevention, Population and Disease management (PrePoD
Single- and multi-peak solitons in two-component models of metamaterials and photonic crystals
We report results of the study of solitons in a system of two
nonlinear-Schrodinger (NLS) equations coupled by the XPM interaction, which
models the co-propagation of two waves in metamaterials(MMs). The same model
applies to photonic crystals (PCs), as well as to ordinary optical fibers,
close to the zero-dispersion point. A peculiarity of the system is a small
positive or negative value of the relative group-velocity dispersion (GVD)
coefficient in one equation, assuming that the dispersion is anomalous in the
other. In contrast to earlier studied systems of nonlinearly coupled NLS
equations with equal GVD coefficients, which generate only simple single-peak
solitons, the present model gives rise to families of solitons with complex
shapes, which feature extended oscillatory tails and/or a double-peak structure
at the center. Regions of existence are identified for single- and double-peak
bimodal solitons, demonstrating a broad bistability in the system. Behind the
existence border, they degenerate into single-component solutions. Direct
simulations demonstrate stability of the solitons in the entire existence
regions. Effects of the group-velocity mismatch (GVM) and optical loss are
considered too. It is demonstrated that the solitons can be stabilized against
the GVM by means of the respective "management" scheme. Under the action of the
loss, complex shapes of the solitons degenerate into simple ones, but periodic

Single crystal growth and characterizations of Cu0.03TaS2 superconductors
Single crystal of Cu0.03TaS2 with low copper intercalated content was
successfully grown via chemical iodine-vapor transport. The structural
characterization results show that the copper intercalated 2H-Cu0.03TaS2 single
crystal has the same structure of the CdI2-type structure as the parent 2H-TaS2
crystal. Electrical resistivity and magnetization measurements reveal that
2H-Cu0.03TaS2 becomes a superconductor below 4.2 K. Besides, electrical
resistivity and Hall effects results show that a charge density wave transition

Structure of Schlafen13 reveals a new class of tRNA/rRNA- targeting RNase engaged in translational control
Cleavage of transfer (t)RNA and ribosomal (r)RNA are critical and conserved steps of translational control for cells to overcome varied environmental stresses. However, enzymes that are responsible for this event have not been fully identified in high eukaryotes. Here, we report a mammalian tRNA/rRNA-targeting endoribonuclease: SLFN13, a member of the Schlafen family. Structural study reveals a unique pseudo-dimeric U-pillow-shaped architecture of the SLFN13 N'-domain that may clamp base-paired RNAs. SLFN13 is able to digest tRNAs and rRNAs in vitro, and the endonucleolytic cleavage dissevers 11 nucleotides from the 3'-terminus of tRNA at the acceptor stem. The cytoplasmically localised SLFN13 inhibits protein synthesis in 293T cells. Moreover, SLFN13 restricts HIV replication in a nucleolytic activity-dependent manner. According to these observations, we term SLFN13 RNase S13. Our study provides insights into the modulation of translational machinery in high eukaryotes, and sheds light on the functional mechanisms of the Schlafen family
Measurements of the observed cross sections for exclusive light hadrons containing at , 3.650 and 3.6648 GeV
By analyzing the data sets of 17.3, 6.5 and 1.0 pb taken,
respectively, at , 3.650 and 3.6648 GeV with the BES-II
detector at the BEPC collider, we measure the observed cross sections for
, , ,
and at the three energy
points. Based on these cross sections we set the upper limits on the observed
cross sections and the branching fractions for decay into these

Partial wave analysis of J/\psi \to \gamma \phi \phi
Using events collected in the BESII detector, the
radiative decay is
studied. The invariant mass distribution exhibits a near-threshold
enhancement that peaks around 2.24 GeV/.
