Trilinear Higgs couplings in the two Higgs doublet model with CP violation
We carry out a detailed analysis of the general two Higgs doublet model with
CP violation. We describe two different parametrizations of this model, and
then study the Higgs boson masses and the trilinear Higgs couplings for these
two parametrizations. Within a rather general model, we find that the trilinear
Higgs couplings have a significant dependence on the details of the model, even
when the lightest Higgs boson mass is taken to be a fixed parameter. We include
radiative corrections in the one-loop effective potential approximation in our
analysis of the Higgs boson masses and the Higgs trilinear couplings. The
one-loop corrections to the trilinear couplings of the two Higgs doublet model
also depend significantly on the details of the model, and can be rather large.
We study quantitatively the trilinear Higgs couplings, and show that these
couplings are typically several times larger than the corresponding Standard
Model trilinear Higgs coupling in some regions of the parameter space. We also

Subclinical pulmonary pathogenic infection in camels slaughtered in Cairo, Egypt
Introduction: Camels migrate between the open boundaries of Sudan and Egypt
either for grazing or for slaughtering. Bad hygiene and stress is often
related to pulmonary diseases in camels. This study investigated whether
camels slaughtered in Cairo carried pulmonary infections. Methodology: Five
hundred lung tissues of slaughtered camels were examined and 100 samples
suspected for pulmonary infection were subjected to microbial identification
and histopathology. Results: A total of 70 lung tissues revealed 97 bacterial
isolates of 8 species, including Staphylococcus aureus (37.14%), Escherichia
coli (27.14%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (26.71%), Bacillus spp. (25.72%),
Streptococcus pyogenes (10%), Corynebacterium spp. (8.85 %), Pasteurella spp.
(2.85%), and Arcanobacterium pyogenes (1.4%). Some of these species were
earlier reported to be associated with pulmonary infection. Histopathology
revealed different types of pneumonia in 50% of the investigated lungs.
Conclusions: A considerable number of apparently healthy camels carry
pathogenic agents in their lower respiratory tracts. Immunosuppression and
stressful conditions might influence these pathogens to induce respiratory
diseases in camels. Thus, the infected camels might act as reservoir of these
infections agents. If adequate care is not taken, this might be a threat to
abattoir workers and may spread infections to humans
Scientific trends in clinical research on zirconia dental implants: A bibliometric review
Background: The clinical use of zirconia implants has been shown to increase steadily due to their biological, aesthetic, and physical properties; therefore, this bibliometric study aimed to review the clinical research and co-authors in the field of zirconia dental implant rehabilitation. Methods: We searched Scopus and Web of Science databases using a comprehensive search strategy to 5 October 2020, and independently paired reviewers who screened studies, and collected data with inclusion criteria restricted to clinical research only (either prospective or retrospective). Data on article title, co-authors, number of citations received, journal details, publication year, country and institution involved, funding, study design, marginal bone loss, survival rate, failure, follow-up, and the author’s bibliometric data were collected and evaluated. Results: A total of 29 clinical studies were published between 2008 and 2020 as 41.4% were prospective cohort studies and 48.3% originated from Germany. Most of the included studies had been published in Clinical Oral Implant Research (n = 12), and the most productive institution was the Medical Center of University of Freiburg. The author with the largest number of clinical studies on zirconia implants was Kohal R.J. (n = 10), followed by Spies B.C. (n = 8). Conclusions: This study revealed that zirconia implants have been more prominent in the last ten years, which is a valuable option for oral rehabilitation with marginal bone loss and survival rate comparable to titanium dental implants
Obstructed D-Branes in Landau-Ginzburg Orbifolds
We study deformations of Landau-Ginzburg D-branes corresponding to obstructed
rational curves on Calabi-Yau threefolds. We determine D-brane moduli spaces
and D-brane superpotentials by evaluating higher products up to homotopy in the
Landau-Ginzburg orbifold category. For concreteness we work out the details for
lines on a perturbed Fermat quintic. In this case we show that our results
reproduce the local analytic structure of the Hilbert scheme of curves on the

Resonant CP Violation in Higgs Radiation at e^+e^- Linear Collider
We study resonant CP violation in the Higgsstrahlung process e^+e^- ->
H_{1,2,3} (Z -> e^+e^-, \mu^+\mu^-) and subsequent decays H_{1,2,3} -> b
\bar{b}, \tau^-\tau^+, in the MSSM with Higgs-sector CP violation induced by
radiative corrections. At a high-energy e^+e^- linear collider, the recoil-mass
method enables one to determine the invariant mass of a fermion pair produced
by Higgs decays with a precision as good as 1 GeV. Assuming an integrated
luminosity of 100/fb, we show that the production lineshape of a coupled system
of neutral Higgs bosons decaying into b\bar{b} quarks is sensitive to the
CP-violating parameters. When the Higgs bosons decay into \tau^-\tau^+, two CP
asymmetries can be defined using the longitudinal and transverse polarizations
of the tau leptons. Taking into account the constraints from electric dipole
moments, we find that these CP asymmetries can be as large as 80 %, in a
tri-mixing scenario where all three neutral Higgs states of the MSSM are nearly

Constraining the Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model parameter space
We confront the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model with a variety of experimental
constraints as well as theoretical consistency conditions. The most
constraining data are the \bar B\to X_s\gamma decay rate (at low values of
M_{H^\pm}), and \Delta\rho (at both low and high M_{H^\pm}). We also take into
account the B\bar B oscillation rate and R_b, or the width \Gamma(Z\to b\bar b)
(both of which restrict the model at low values of \tan\beta), and the
B^-\to\tau\nu_\tau decay rate, which restricts the model at high \tan\beta and
low M_{H^\pm}. Furthermore, the LEP2 non-discovery of a light, neutral Higgs
boson is considered, as well as the muon anomalous magnetic moment. Since
perturbative unitarity excludes high values of \tan\beta, the model turns out
to be very constrained. We outline the remaining allowed regions in the
\tan\beta-M_{H^\pm} plane for different values of the masses of the two
lightest neutral Higgs bosons, and describe some of their properties.Comment: 17 pages, 17 figure
β-thalassemia Intermedia In A Brazilian Patient With - 101 (c > T) And Codon 39 (c > T) Mutations
Context: We verified molecular alterations in a 72-year-old Brazilian male patient with a clinical course of homozygous β-thalassemia intermedia, who had undergone splenectomy and was surviving without regular blood transfusions. The blood cell count revealed microcytic and hypochromic anemia (hemoglobin = 6.5 g/dl, mean cell volume = 74 ft, mean cell hemoglobin = 24 pg) and hemoglobin electrophoresis showed fetal hemoglobin = 1.3%, hemoglobin A 2 = 6.78% and hemoglobin A = 79.4%. Objective: To identify mutations in a patient with the symptoms of β-thalassemia intermedia. Design: Molecular inquiry into the mutations possibly responsible for the clinical picture described. Setting: The structural molecular biology and genetic engineering center of the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Campinas, Brazil. Procedures: DNA extraction was performed on the patient's blood samples. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was done using five specific primers that amplified exons and the promoter region of the β globin gene. The samples were sequenced and then analyzed via computer programs. Results: Two mutations that cause the disease were found: -101 (C > T) and codon 39 (C > T). Probing the charged Higgs boson at the LHC in the CP-violating type-II 2HDM
We present a phenomenological study of a CP-violating two-Higgs-doublet Model
with type-II Yukawa couplings at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In the light
of recent LHC data, we focus on the parameter space that survives the current
and past experimental constraints as well as theoretical bounds on the model.
Once the phenomenological scenario is set, we analyse the scope of the LHC in
exploring this model through the discovery of a charged Higgs boson produced in
association with a W boson, with the former decaying into the lightest neutral
Higgs and a second W state, altogether yielding a b\bar b W^+W^- signature, of

Alkaline activation of ceramic waste materials
Ceramic materials represent around 45 % of construction and demolition waste, and originate not only from the building process, but also as rejected bricks and tiles from industry. Despite the fact that these wastes are mostly used as road sub-base or construction backfill materials, they can also be employed as supplementary cementitious materials, or even as raw material for alkali-activated binders This research aimed to investigate the properties and microstructure of alkali-activated cement pastes and mortars produced from ceramic waste materials of various origins.
Sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate were used to prepare the activating solution. The compressive strength of the developed mortars ranged between 22 and 41 MPa after 7 days of curing at 65 C, depending on the sodium
concentration in the solution and the water/binder ratio.
