Hydraulic and mass transfer characteristics of gas-liquid contactors with ejector distributor

The aim of this work is to study the effect of the liquid phase properties (viscosity and surface tension) on hydraulic and mass transfer in a bubble column using an up-flow ejector type gas distributor. The configurations of the ejector were tested: with and without a swirl body inside the ejector's nozzle. Viscosity and surface tension of the aqueous batches were modified by adding a thickener SOKRAT and foambreaker OCENOL. The experimental results have unambiguously proven merits of the ejector with the swirl body for all the tested liquid batches. Their evaluation provides the correlations that can be used for prediction of the effect of viscosity on tha basic chemical-engineering characteristics of the installation (suction efficiency, gas hold up, and the volumetric liquid side mass transfer coefficients for the ejector and column)Available from STL Prague, CZ / NTK - National Technical LibrarySIGLECZCzech Republi
